- kakimiller, on 04/18/2008, -37/+174While I like Joe Scarborough, RACHEL MADDOW is the smartest political commentator on the air.
- neognostic, on 04/18/2008, -10/+25You may not like Joe so much after reading this post. http://www.allhatnocattle.net/congressman_joe_scar ...
- Thater, on 04/18/2008, -20/+8you are retarded.
- sonnysavage, on 04/18/2008, -1/+4There's a time-line, and a bunch of speculation. I don't think there's anything there that would change anyone's opinion about him.
- z0l0pht, on 04/18/2008, -9/+44I agree, I love watching her commentary. The one of the only logical media pundits out there.
- MarkusGarvey, on 04/18/2008, -0/+7Stephanie Miller....even though she is pretty silly on her radio show...
- oldhick, on 04/18/2008, -39/+21I love how we get done slamming ABC for bringing the debates to a new low. We applaud Obama for taking the high ground and saying we shouldn't waste time on gotcha and gutter politics.
Then we commend Rachel Maddow for discussing bathroom behaviors of a one time McCain associate? Either we're against gutter politics in totality or we're really simply saying we don't like gutter politics when Obama is attacked. We can respond to that filth with piling on our own filth. I know many of you will say that she was trying to point out the double standard, but she could have done it without engaging in the same practices.- jon30041, on 04/18/2008, -5/+33She brought it up as an example of how it doesn't actually matter until the media seems to assert that it does?
I only read the thingy, didn't watch the clip, so I could be wrong.- oldhick, on 04/18/2008, -13/+8Certainly she was making the point that Obama was getting an unfair shake of the "guilt by association" tree. I understand that, but to make her point she brings up some crap about McCain hanging with a gay dude who got arrested in the bathroom like half the republicans out there... I just think we either rise above or we CONTINUE to find reasons to keep discussing irrelevant filth.
- actorboy, on 04/19/2008, -0/+2Sometimes the best way to make a point is to illustrate with example. What's the problem here?
- romistrub, on 04/18/2008, -15/+5Old Hick is right. You have to see this as a stab of some sort. It was very sneaky, but it's part of rhetoric. Talking about what you're not going to talk about has been used successfully many times before.
- Mejari, on 04/18/2008, -0/+6How else do you make the point that McCain isn't being subjected to these types of questions because his opponents don't bring it up? If you just made that statement people would say "well, I bet you cant give an example of that" and then you're stuck because if you don't give the example they don't listen and if you do give the example they just say your playing the same game.
- oldhick, on 04/18/2008, -13/+8Certainly she was making the point that Obama was getting an unfair shake of the "guilt by association" tree. I understand that, but to make her point she brings up some crap about McCain hanging with a gay dude who got arrested in the bathroom like half the republicans out there... I just think we either rise above or we CONTINUE to find reasons to keep discussing irrelevant filth.
- notque, on 04/18/2008, -11/+4You agreed with me yesterday which was surprising. Here I agree with you. What the hell is the world coming to oldhick?
- oldhick, on 04/18/2008, -7/+3We're all screwed my friend! :P
- OrangeTide, on 04/18/2008, -10/+5It's called a double standard. get used to it.
- oldhick, on 04/18/2008, -3/+1Yeah, I mention that in my comment.
- Infidelcastr0, on 04/18/2008, -3/+91.She is not the one running for office.
2.Obama hasn't brought that up AFAIK.
3.She was making an example.
- jon30041, on 04/18/2008, -5/+33She brought it up as an example of how it doesn't actually matter until the media seems to assert that it does?
- brainster31, on 04/18/2008, -6/+31i would be perfectly fine with Rachel Maddow taking over Dan Abrams' slot. Keith and Rachel back to back...thumbs up
- MoofTheStoof, on 04/18/2008, -1/+8Nooooo.... I need Rachel's 3 hour (2 depending on how you count it) radio show every day, and if she goes to TV, she'll get maybe a 1 hour slot of which we'll only get maybe 30 minutes of actual info... Keep Rachel on the radio! (If she decides she can do both, then I'm down with that.)
- podium123456, on 04/18/2008, -0/+2she should have taken over tuckers slot. david gregory is bland and uninteresting... i dont know why they went with him. even if you hated tucker, he was more entertaining than gregory. i predict rachel may soon get a 2nd chance at that slot... if u know what i mean.. heh.
- malman4, on 04/18/2008, -7/+1OMG, put an ignorant bitch with an ignorant bastard and the lefties will love MSNBC forever, and drive the ratings to a negative record.
- robbiemuffin, on 04/18/2008, -4/+6I like them both. Rachel is smart .. she's a little like me though she gets confused categorically and ends up making claims that make sense at the extreme, but aren't really what the conversation is about. But I feel for her there, she's got heart, she's making a valid point, just that it looks like it is a valid point about a different, still important topic.
- septicmadman, on 04/18/2008, -2/+11Give me Jim Lehrer and Charlie Rose any day.
- trizzlelv, on 04/18/2008, -13/+14Is Rachel Maddow a lesbian?
- MacEnvy, on 04/18/2008, -3/+11Yes.
http://www.pageoneq.com/news/2007/maddow06192007.h ... - SpudgeBoy, on 04/18/2008, -7/+8Yep and so is Dick Cheney's daughter. Your point is?
- asspants, on 04/19/2008, -0/+8I don't think there was a point, seems trizz was just asking a question to fulfill a curiosity. If there was a point to be made by asking the question it would have been what we call a pointed question : Is that bitch a dyke? Cuz she sure looks like one.
- domomike, on 04/19/2008, -0/+4Yikes, you sure are a little touchy aren't you?
- asspants, on 04/19/2008, -0/+8I don't think there was a point, seems trizz was just asking a question to fulfill a curiosity. If there was a point to be made by asking the question it would have been what we call a pointed question : Is that bitch a dyke? Cuz she sure looks like one.
- malman4, on 04/18/2008, -13/+2And an ugly one at that.
- robbiemuffin, on 04/19/2008, -0/+1hopeful much? :) .. oh wait you're a dude. You don't know your sexual identity still or what? What's the deal asking stupid questions...
- MacEnvy, on 04/18/2008, -3/+11Yes.
- apollomurga, on 04/18/2008, -2/+4what about Pat Buchanon?
- absurdist, on 04/18/2008, -0/+23Yes, Pat Buchanan is a lesbian too.
- ericmiami, on 04/19/2008, -0/+1Ha ha ha ha ha.
- absurdist, on 04/18/2008, -0/+23Yes, Pat Buchanan is a lesbian too.
- JettaMan, on 04/18/2008, -9/+3This seems like making a mountain out of a molehill. He probably thought the interview was over and unplugged. Joe is a smart guy. I've seen him on other talk shows and he holds his own.
- podium123456, on 04/18/2008, -0/+4he would never have thought the interview was over. the segment they had just started is repeated at the end of every show... each panelist gives his 'headline' statement and all panelists stay seated... joe was going first, and had done this many times on the show. moreover, if the interview was supposed to be over, the audio to his mic would have been cut. he walked off. it surprises me as well, because i have seen him hold his own and not resort to something childish like this. perhaps there is bad blood between joe and rachel.
- SpudgeBoy, on 04/18/2008, -2/+2More like Joe is tired of pushing the Bush rhetoric and can't wait to get back to talking about a real republican.
- JettaMan, on 04/19/2008, -0/+1That might be. If so I wonder why he got so steamed. It's not like anything too bad happened (at least that I could detect). Must be bad blood.
- KathrynMac, on 04/19/2008, -0/+2Rachel is "this close" to having her own prime time (Maybe Joe's old) slot, and it is eating Morning Joe alive. Sorry Joe.
- SpudgeBoy, on 04/18/2008, -0/+6Yes, Joe is such a smart man, he couldn't tell the interview wasn't over.
- bradbaxter, on 04/18/2008, -12/+5Rachel's analysis was retarded. First, John McCain has ties with right-wing Christian pastors, because they pretty their values are in agreement with one another (aside from McCain distancing himself from Falwell and Robertson 8 years ago); therefore, the fact that McCain has relationships with these men is revealing about what he believes... and the same is true (or at the very least could POSSIBLE be true of Obama's relationships with his pastor and the terrorist). Second, she tries to compare Obama's relationship with Wright to McCain's relationship with the Senator looking for some gay sex in a bathroom stall... this is absurd! Nobody is lambasting Obama over Wright's private life or secret trysts, etc. -- he is being critiqued over Wright's PUBLIC statements.
Nobody should suggest that I am to be held responsible for something that a friend of mine does in secret... but if I continue to remain friends with someone who, as an example, threatens to blow up the Pentagon, you gotta question my judgement. At some point, who you affiliate with is relevant to your character and wisdom.- rawheadrex, on 04/18/2008, -0/+9But that's not her point. The point is that McCain's relationship with the gay Senator *could* be raised and made *into* an issue; if and only if his political opponents decide to do so. Same thing with Wright, Farrakan (or however you spell his name), and now Bill Ayers. That point absolutely stands, and if you don't get it, you're the retard.
- schumpert, on 04/18/2008, -1/+1It's not just political opponents who make things an issue, it's also the media...
- rawheadrex, on 04/18/2008, -0/+9But that's not her point. The point is that McCain's relationship with the gay Senator *could* be raised and made *into* an issue; if and only if his political opponents decide to do so. - BrendanSheehan, on 04/18/2008, -6/+5You like Joe Scarborough? What planet are you from?
- inkswamp, on 04/18/2008, -3/+6I agree. Whether you like her political views or not, you have to admire the way Rachel cuts through the crap in politics and generally knows how to get right to the core of any given matter. I've been impressed with her ability to dissect any political issue all the way back to her first show on Air America called Unfiltered which she hosted with Chuck D and some other female host whose name I don't recall. She really stood out and I'm not surprised she has her own show now and is invited to speak on various news programs so frequently. I've heard few commentators on the air--left, right or center--equal her abilities, and that definitely includes Joe Scarborough.
- jze17, on 04/19/2008, -3/+3Rachael Maddow is why I stopped listening to AA. Her character assassination are lame. Are these little tid-bits of information really necessary?
And on the Barack/Wright issue. I view it like this: If your beloved brother/sister/etc started spouting off on unpatriotic/conspiratorial subject matter, dispite of his views, would you still love him nonetheless?- robdazomba, on 04/19/2008, -1/+3You never listened to Air America. I like how you lie about it so you sound like you know what you're talking about to give your mischaracterization of Rachel Maddow a little credibility. Didn't work tho.
- drwho9437, on 04/19/2008, -2/+1You know I don't respect Maddow at all because I can't remember her ever saying anything positive about a conservative candidate. Unlike say Ford who is quiet fair. Essentially her and Olbermann strike me as the counter to Fox News. But hey, I'm a libertarian what do I know.
- SzaszMan, on 04/19/2008, -0/+2Dude, I'm a libertarian as well, and I can for damn sure say I probably don't agree with Rachel Maddow on any number of issues as well, but the fact is she's a crackerjack political analyst and way smarter than that idiot Scarborough. So what if she's a socialist? I trust her political analysis far more than a majority of the idiots MSNBC trots out. I think she's even better than Olbermann, who, although he's a compelling rhetorician is still behind Maddow when it comes to incisive political analysis. Joe Scarborough isn't even in Olbermann's league, much less Maddow's.
- neognostic, on 04/18/2008, -10/+25You may not like Joe so much after reading this post. http://www.allhatnocattle.net/congressman_joe_scar ...
- reesespc, on 04/18/2008, -11/+40way to gooooo joe...hasta la vista
- selmer, on 04/18/2008, -2/+1I haven't seen Terminator 2 in like 15 years...thanks for the memories!
- jabberwolf, on 04/18/2008, -16/+3Joe doesnt take BS arguments.
There is a difference between associations and long term relationships.
Joe knows it, WE ALL KNOW IT, and MSNBC doesn't want to admit it !- Rodalli, on 04/18/2008, -0/+5You're an idiot. The content of the argument isn't what Joe was upset about, obviously. He's just pissed that someone stood up to him when he tried to interrupt them mid-sentence. ...I mean, you just don't DO that to Joe Scarborough, for Gods sake! What a tool.
- sqwirl, on 04/18/2008, -1/+9Too bad he didn't just keep walking . . . right into the ocean.
- evelian, on 04/18/2008, -25/+103Rachel Maddow is the lone voice of reason on cable news.
- robbiemuffin, on 04/18/2008, -1/+2now ... that's too much for one person to have to shoulder.
- jabberwolf, on 04/18/2008, -23/+3Shes a retard that makes bad arguments, but then so long as you agree with her, she must be right even if she is retarded.
- MacEnvy, on 04/18/2008, -0/+13Oh my, the irony of your statement is overwhelming.
- chukd, on 04/18/2008, -11/+2lone voice of reason for the left side of the political spectrum. where pat buchanon is the reasonable voice on the right. they are both spewing party politics.
- MoClippa, on 04/19/2008, -1/+4She has quite a few good points, and quite a few bad ones as well... either way, the last thing I'm going to do is call her 'the lone voice of reason on cable news'... as far as I'm concerned, there is no one that is approaching the serious issues... the war in Iraq, the US refusing to comply with the NPT (MSNBC is owned by GE, the largest manufacturer of nuclear weapons in the world and the last corporation that is going to let its media start telling them to comply with international law and stop doing it), the economic crash which the IMF chief recently said had a 1/4 chance of being a global economic meltdown, and the food crises which is likely to become one of the worst human disasters in the world unless the program is seriously funded, which it isn't.
She's smart, but she's still firmly working within the limits of MSM televised debate.
- DD2CC2U, on 04/18/2008, -13/+137Once again Rachel Maddow was right. Joe could not take this line of argument and her beautiful grasp of the political landscape so he just got made and left. He knew she hit the nail right on the head. All of this stuff is coming right out of the GOP to avoid actual issues.
- pattyann1, on 04/18/2008, -2/+41Not only was she right, she is one of the most intelligent voices on cable news....a Rhodes scholar, I believe. I saw Joe try to cut off Rachel on that show and she did not back down. I immediately sent off a note to Joe chastising him for "bullying" Rachel (and many times Mika on his morning show.) I do believe he "walked" off because he couldn't face the truth!
- retiredguy110, on 04/18/2008, -2/+26Joe should be on animal planet, not MSNBC. This way he could intimidate turtles or small primates.
- chrishavel, on 04/18/2008, -1/+13Not only could he "not take the argument," but he wouldn't even let her _make_ it before he started to interrupt. The article says "Joe started to challenge Rachel's argument ..." when the reality is, he saw where she was going and tried to keep her from speaking. When you fear your opponent, don't make a counter-argument, just shout loud enough they don't get to make their point.
- jabberwolf, on 04/18/2008, -14/+2Joe doesnt take BS arguments.
There is a difference between associations and long term relationships.
Joe knows it, WE ALL KNOW IT, and MSNBC doesn't want to admit it ! - Rodman930, on 04/20/2008, -0/+1They were both right.
- pattyann1, on 04/18/2008, -2/+41Not only was she right, she is one of the most intelligent voices on cable news....a Rhodes scholar, I believe. - microsrfr, on 04/18/2008, -20/+75Joe Scarborough is a pumped up windbag shill for high level Republican operatives. John Harwood, a pure Republican, had to correct Joe's over exuberant distortions of reality in interpreting the debate on this same show.
He also continuously demeans women (despite the fact that he constantly says that he loves Hillary). Watch him on any show, but especially his own, and you will see that he constantly talks over and verbally bullies women.- robbiemuffin, on 04/18/2008, -1/+3wow!
- ace429k, on 04/18/2008, -1/+15i like women.
- BrendanSheehan, on 04/18/2008, -2/+2Plural ;)
- Lean, on 04/18/2008, -1/+8What are you talking about? Joe Scarborough is about as moderate as former Republican congressmen get. I can't say anything about the misogynism, but subjectively speaking, he doesn't seem like a He-Man Woman Hater.
- MOJIRA, on 05/17/2008, -2/+2He's mid-right of moderate. And I too have noticed that he talks over and down to women, especially uhh.. Mika, or whatever her name is.
I think he had this little tiff with Rachel Maddow because she's more manly than he is and he couldn't take it.- Lean, on 04/18/2008, -1/+1I guess I'll have to concede to that. Also, I hope you're talking about Michelle Malkin, because I'd love to see Scarborough verbally abuse her.
- robbiemuffin, on 04/19/2008, -1/+1I think he's not right of moderate (there's a short way of saying a little right of moderate ... that's "right"), I think he's moderate.
- Elissar, on 04/19/2008, -1/+1As evidence by the dead female aide in his office...
- BobScratchit, on 04/19/2008, -1/+0Anytime I have ever randomly stopped to watch his morning show, he has abruptly interupted his female cohost when she was talking and she obviously looked insulted everytime it happened. I end up changing the channel because it's boring and awkward to watch. He just seems like a very rude person.
- Xios117, on 04/19/2008, -1/+1I dunno, I watch his show every morning and I view it more as friendly banter than him being rude at all.
- WomenObama, on 04/18/2008, -17/+69Finally! Joe Scarborough has met his match!!! Rachel Maddow reigns supreme!
- Rodalli, on 04/18/2008, -1/+3I agree. Well-played by Ms. Maddow for defending the high-ground of just wanting to finish her short, and well-conceived, argument.
Joe Scarborough: "Well, I don't mean to condescending, but..." *holds hands over ears* "la, la, la, la, la; I'm right and you're wrong." Lose the superiority complex or go smoke a dick, Joe.
- Rodalli, on 04/18/2008, -1/+3I agree. Well-played by Ms. Maddow for defending the high-ground of just wanting to finish her short, and well-conceived, argument.
- dimpledandy, on 04/18/2008, -15/+57Joe Scarborough simply was put away by Rachel Maddow !!
Scarborough thought he was going to run the show "WRONG" Ms. Maddow showed this creep that intellingence 'COUNTS" !!!- bobburn, on 04/18/2008, -14/+1intelligence? Yelling your position without any palpable supporting details doesn't not equal an intelligent argument.
- lazerflesh, on 04/18/2008, -0/+12Actually she did present evidence. She talked in a very calm manner- and even allowed him in to interrupt her abruptly. What he calls "crossfire" is the guidelines for any social interaction. Unless you think it would have been better for them to unprofessionally yell at each other back in forth unintelligibly on cable television.
- MacEnvy, on 04/18/2008, -0/+9I did find it hilarious that he was complaining about "crossfire" when HE was the one that interrupted HER! He shows his true colors - agree with him or you don't have the right to speak, even when it's your turn.
- sassip, on 04/18/2008, -0/+3Glad someone else noticed MacE!
- lazerflesh, on 04/18/2008, -0/+12Actually she did present evidence. She talked in a very calm manner- and even allowed him in to interrupt her abruptly. - donjuan571, on 04/18/2008, -3/+2I reallly do not think it was that great, honestly.

"Scarborough thought he was going to run the show "WRONG" Ms. Maddow showed this creep that intellingence 'COUNTS" !!!"
And I see you have a lot of "ntellingence" too.
- bobburn, on 04/18/2008, -14/+1intelligence? Yelling your position without any palpable supporting details doesn't not equal an intelligent argument.
- JDWPS, on 04/18/2008, -13/+41Rachel is brilliant but I had to stop watching anything Scarborough shows up on...all day on MSNBC... because it is such a complete waste of time. He is the biggest know it all who actually knows nothing on television. And if he is on the screen he is hogging the air. How can anyone who resigned from Congress before the term ended act like the greatest thing he has ever done is to be a member Congress??
- jwolcott, on 04/19/2008, -0/+2I don't know, maybe it's just me, but the only thing interesting and newsworthy that I got from that page was this comment:
"Definition of DICKLE: That useless loose thread from a pair of men's new cotton briefs that hangs from your sack between your legs after you take them off."
- jwolcott, on 04/19/2008, -0/+2I don't know, maybe it's just me, but the only thing interesting and newsworthy that I got from that page was this comment:
- smacksaw, on 04/18/2008, -10/+74Nothing like admitting you got beaten like running away with your tail between your legs.
- Fritz, on 04/18/2008, -0/+3That guy showed himself to be a total pussy...Sorry, but there's just no other word for it.
- bloodomen13, on 04/18/2008, -10/+63I have zero respect for Scarborough. Especially since his Katrina coverage where he spoke about how he and his wife were driving to a shelter and saw a woman on the side of the road walking towards the shelter with her child. He pumped up the fact that he and his wife stopped to talk to the woman and so "graciously" gave her a bottle of water and went on their way as if he were a saint. Um... couldn't you have at least given her and her child a ride?!?!?!?!?!
- laserblazer, on 04/18/2008, -1/+19All-leather interior!
- bobburn, on 04/18/2008, -1/+4He drives a 2-seater.
- dinot, on 04/18/2008, -10/+138Dear Feminists: THIS is the person that should be representing your gender in the White House. Not the Hillaroids.
- elliotys, on 04/18/2008, -21/+14Dear Feminists: Please Re-define your mission statement, because we (the general public) had no idea you even existed anymore.
- trackerbishop, on 04/18/2008, -10/+5Buried. You ripped that line off from Rush Limbaugh who said it yesterday. You are a NEOCON. (i only check out rush because im a masochist)
- wildbillhick, on 04/18/2008, -2/+7As a liberal progressive democrat, I find myself confused, that I agree with Limbaugh.
- elliotys, on 04/18/2008, -2/+3A NeoCon!?!? I have never been so insulted.
- dinot, on 04/18/2008, -3/+3You don't speak for the general public.
- jeffdjohnson, on 04/19/2008, -1/+5I think Rachel's too smart to be a feminist.
- BradHAWK, on 04/19/2008, -0/+1Um... Obama/Maddow '08?
- SzaszMan, on 04/19/2008, -1/+2If Rachel was running for prez, I'd dump Obama in a New York minute.
- elliotys, on 04/18/2008, -21/+14Dear Feminists: Please Re-define your mission statement, because we (the general public) had no idea you even existed anymore.
- Itazura, on 04/18/2008, -9/+60What a little unprofessional crybaby, I don't care what side you take or what your point is, you don't act like that. MSNBC needs to ship his ass off to Fox.
- pintomp3, on 04/18/2008, -1/+5seriously. he's the one who tried to cut her off. he was just mad that she stood her ground and didn't let him shout her down. then he goes on to whine about "being in a crossfire".
- oldhick, on 04/18/2008, -30/+12Why are we still talking about what happened in a bathroom to whom? Why are we still talking about past life associations? Lets bring the level of discussion up to actual issues. Obama doesn't want to talk about this crap. McCain has repeatedly said that he doesn't think this crap is relevant (even suspended campaign workers who tried to create an ad about Rev. Wright). The only one that cares still is the media and Hillary Clinton.
- tjmb9, on 04/18/2008, -6/+3not sure why you are getting dugg down, but i think you're right. and i think that as these "distractions" get more and more absurd, that sentiment will grow. I mean, I was just watching msnbc, they were playing a clip of obama scratching his face and asking if he was really giving the finger. Come on.
- johnhummel, on 04/18/2008, -2/+6We're talking about this stuff, if you saw from the video, because it the issue was "When do your personal relationships hurt or help you". Ms. Maddow was making the point that "They matter in a bad way when your opponent says they do - for example, blah, blah, blah, bathroom issue, blah blah." It was as valid an example of how both sides will have negative acquaintances, but that only becomes an issue depending on how your opponent tries to frame you. Mr. Scarborough seemed to be saying that Senator McCain was impossible to define by an opponent, since he has 25 years experience in politics, while Ms. Maddow was pointing out that it wasn't experience that mattered, but how your opponent tried to paint you.
What Mr. Scarborough evidently couldn't handle was not being allowed to interrupt her point - which is why he got pissed off when he couldn't have his way. Both topics were valid for discussion - but his acting like a big whiner wasn't. - sqwirl, on 04/18/2008, -0/+2Oldhick, staying true to his name, completely misses the point. Big surprise.
- oldhick, on 04/18/2008, -1/+2How did I miss the point? The more we continue to debate gutter politics, the more we're all still talking gutter politics.
- taillover, on 04/18/2008, -5/+29Joe wasn't even in the kitchen and he couldn't take the heat. If you can't make it, don't fake it; let some else take it. And there we have (had) it. Without Rachel and Keith, MSNBC would likely be just like Fox; third-rate entertainment at best. Will the public ever get to see good and fair debate on TV? If yes, then we will see who is the best. Thanks to Rachel and Keith for reality and honesty, what has become old-time behavior; something from the early 1960s.
- elliotys, on 04/18/2008, -11/+9Wow, I really expected more of Joe than to walk out after that benign exchange.
- sqwirl, on 04/18/2008, -0/+6I think you're getting buried for expecting more of Joe. You shouldn't do that.
- elliotys, on 04/18/2008, -0/+1Thanks for clearing that up, I was getting confused.

And you're commenting on other people's intelligence? You, sir, have officially just won my 'most retarded comment of the day' award. Congratulations.
- delrin500, on 04/18/2008, -7/+24Rachel Maddow is the smartest political commentator on TV and one of the only ones without their head up their own ass. Joe Scarborough is a big baby he tried to cut her off and talk over her and when she would not just let him do that she put him into his place and he ran off like a 6 year old girl with a skinned knee.
- chrissku, on 04/18/2008, -5/+6Joe's just mad that he didn't have the muster to make in politics and Obama is about to become President after such a short time in Washington. It's sort of like a political version of Short Man Syndrome sprinkled with some Napoleon Complex.
- Schmapdi, on 04/18/2008, -6/+5I don't think Joe stormed off of anything there, though he did seem a little pissed after the break. I've seen him take a worse beating on other shows where he'st he lone republican voice of dissent and not freak out or anything. Plus on shows like that people often bow out suddenly after their segment, particularly if they are the busy sort (Like Joe, or Russert, or someone).
- podium123456, on 04/18/2008, -0/+1he would never have thought the interview was over. the segment they had just started is repeated at the end of every show... each panelist gives his 'headline' statement and all panelists stay seated... joe was going first, and had done this many times on the show. moreover, if the interview was supposed to be over, the audio to his mic would have been cut. he walked off. it surprises me as well, because i have seen him hold his own and not resort to something childish like this. perhaps there is bad blood between joe and rachel.
- nickzee, on 04/18/2008, -6/+8Joe was offended because of the Florida comment (he was elected in Florida). So he probably was chummy with the toilet politician...
- erranttv, on 04/28/2008, -0/+1Yeah, but he was also insulted to be put in his place by a....woman. Common known by those who study conversational patterns by gender that men cut women off more often than the opposite. That hits he-man conservative from Florida, who's convinced himself he is the soul of fairness, where it really hurts the most....the ego.
- SwordofKahless, on 04/18/2008, -18/+8Air America, Rachel Maddow, Huffington Post, MSNBC, blah, blah, blah, just far left extremist hacks. It is sad we do not have a actual news channel dedicated to fact based news with commentary blocks that clearly designate the affiliation.(instead of this stealth campaigning posing as real news).
Buried.- laserblazer, on 04/18/2008, -2/+6I buried you too, sucker.
- pelayostyle, on 04/18/2008, -3/+2What would you know about "actual news"? Im sure you consider Faux News facts based news right?
- SwordofKahless, on 04/18/2008, -1/+3Read it again slowly: "It is sad we do not have a actual news channel dedicated to fact based news with commentary blocks that clearly designate the affiliation"
- SwordofKahless, on 04/18/2008, -1/+3Read it again slowly: "It is sad we do not have a actual news channel dedicated to fact based news with commentary blocks that clearly designate the affiliation"
- Infidelcastr0, on 04/18/2008, -2/+4When news reports the facts it appears as a liberal bias. I wonder why.

- enantiodromia, on 04/20/2008, -0/+1lol. i'd love to see what hand made 'newsletters' you picked up from the old surplus store, in all their golden rod and stapled glory.
- TheSwashbuckler, on 04/18/2008, -4/+5Joe S. is one of the more tolerable con talking heads on the air today. BUT... he's got a palpable disdain for Rachel Maddow. And her TV persona is quite reasonable. Her radio persona is much more to the left.
- SwordofKahless, on 04/18/2008, -3/+2I think you mean her arrogant TV persona. Diggers typically go nuts when the rights behaves this way but I suppose anything goes if you support the polices of the far left.
- bobburn, on 04/18/2008, -2/+8Now now, no reason to call out the obvious bias here--it's been done before and never gets anywhere. If you're a neo-liberal, your good, if you anything else..well digg users have no patience for classical liberals, moderates, or even *gasp* conservatives.
- Rodalli, on 04/18/2008, -1/+3It's a shame that that's what we've come to, but you've got nothing but 8 years of Bush regime neo-conservative ***** to blame for it. Oh, and the people that put him there, of course.
People treat conservatives with disdain because of what the GOP and Bushco has done to this country. Not out of any hatred for conservative voters.
It's amazing that even when things are this ***** up and we're all getting screwed in the butt, people will still point their fingers across the white picket fence, at one another, instead of the real source of the problem (epic hint: elected leaders and lawmakers).

- cougar618, on 04/18/2008, -3/+6I see where Joe's coming from in a way and I agree with him...
That said I'm pro Obama, Olbermann and anyone associated with them (Maddow).- robbiemuffin, on 04/18/2008, -0/+1they just about systematized the heart out of Olbermann ... there's a reason it isn't "change the foreign policy" or "change the economy" or "change the lobbyists" any more ... because the real change people want, you're trained to look the other way towards.
- pettdog78, on 04/18/2008, -8/+4Not sure whether he actually walked off or not but I do have to say that out of all the commentators on Fox, CNN, and MSNBC that Scarborough is my favorite. He always came across as intelligent and precise when I listened to him. Bout the only other commentator I liked was Alan Keyes.
- JinnRikki, on 04/18/2008, -1/+3Alan Keyes huh? Not much left to say after that but good luck to you, you're gonna need it.
- AbsurdParadox, on 04/18/2008, -1/+2Yeah, I was with you up until Keyes, lol.
- Jadinlee, on 04/18/2008, -5/+30Rachel should have her own show on MSNBC. She is the smartest political commentator on the tv right now and easily out-matches ANY existing cable news personality. If her guest-host spot on Countdown was a test run on her ability to anchor a show... she passed with flying colors.
- 919kwjc, on 04/18/2008, -11/+5Who gives a rats ass? Please, MSNBC is a nothing network and nobody watches or cares.

- cdtoad, on 04/18/2008, -1/+8Joe didn't want to be anywhere near the set when Maddow started talking about men paying other men to do things in bathrooms. It looks bad for McCain shills to be around talk like this... it's like yelling Skull & Boners
- Keles65, on 04/18/2008, -20/+9RACHEL MADDOW what a uneducated moron! Joe is BITTER and so am I. I'm a BITTER AMERICAN sick of uneducated Libs. GOD BLESS AMERICA AND JOE Scarborough!

- SwordofKahless, on 04/18/2008, -7/+7NBC-MSNBC has always favored the moderate to moderate-left in stealth news reporting but we are withnessing a dramatic shift in 24 hour news when you see a moderate to left guy like Scarborough getting blasted and a far left extremist like Maddow continually being put in the spotlight at MSNBC.
This kind of extremism worked for Jerry Springer so we shall soon see how it plays out in the ratings for them.- jahurt, on 04/18/2008, -3/+5Joe Scarborough is "moderate-left"???
- thawkth, on 04/18/2008, -2/+4You haven't heard? Cable News - ABC/NBC/CBS/CNN all have a LIBERAL BIAS and Fox News is just FAIR AND BALANCED
Yeah, that's how whacked some people's perception of reality is.
It's liberal to oppose the war. Didn't you know that? You cannot be conservative and oppose it.
- thawkth, on 04/18/2008, -2/+4You haven't heard? Cable News - ABC/NBC/CBS/CNN all have a LIBERAL BIAS and Fox News is just FAIR AND BALANCED
- AbsurdParadox, on 04/18/2008, -2/+2Yeah, Scarborough is a libertarian-leaning conservative...
But I wouldn't expect Klingons to know much about early 21st century human politics.- damianmann, on 04/18/2008, -1/+2If Scarborough is left than Goldwater was a commie. Give me a break.
- davidlow, on 04/19/2008, -1/+2Maddow has a huge following. I'm not saying that might makes right, but when there's broad consensus on an issue it ceases to be a fringe point of view. The "extremism" label doesn't really apply here.
- SzaszMan, on 04/19/2008, -1/+1Who really gives a rats ass? The two were engaging in a debate about political analysis, they weren't having a policy discussion (so your comment about where Maddow and Scarborough occupy the political spectrum is a red herring). The issue is this - Maddow was poised and incisive in her performance on this excerpt (and in fact nearly always is whenever I see her or listen to her), and Scarborough was being a loudmouth and a baby. As per usual.
- jahurt, on 04/18/2008, -3/+5Joe Scarborough is "moderate-left"???
- bobburn, on 04/18/2008, -7/+9Personally I would have left too, those stupid yelling matches do nothing to further the conversation--and he was right about relationships becoming issues without someone having to 'make them an issue'. I mean, look at Bill Clinton--his and his wifes differing stances on things are already causing trouble and she hasn't even been elected yet (nor will she be).
- sassip, on 04/18/2008, -0/+8He clearly cut HER off...
- inkswamp, on 04/18/2008, -1/+3Odd comment, given that Scarborough is one of the cable pundits who encourages these kinds of yelling matches to begin with.
Oh well, can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen... even if it's your own.
- robbiemuffin, on 04/18/2008, -7/+2I like how they have to publish this repeat so many times to get it on the front page before it gets instant-buried, that it already has an "_s" at the end. Normally I think, repeats start at "_1" and go up, then convert to letters...
- bernlin2000, on 04/18/2008, -2/+2I propose after the _s we go to greek letters, makes things more interesting
- davidlow, on 04/19/2008, -1/+2No. The "_s" is because the title ends with an 's' following an apostrophe, and the URL character mapping turns an apostrophe into an underscore. There were no repeat submissions.
- robbiemuffin, on 04/19/2008, -0/+1ok david... sure, this has never been on digg before and in fact I've never belittled this same article for reposting so often... :(
