Jesus healed the sick and poor so they could go to work
worldnetdaily.com — Its not A fault that we still are wealthy and its not our fault that they are poor. Its not our obligation, designation, destination and resignation to donate money, we dont have, to any other struggling nation. Apply this world welfare money to our national debt.

- SheilaNoya, on 05/17/2008, -9/+9Wow - Typical WorldNetDaily garbage. It manages to mention Obama, then claim blacks are a huge burden on society, then parrots the GOP lie that Obama wants to bankrupt America by giving our money to poor nations.
What kind of gullible idiots actually believe this tripe? Oh, that's right... the same gullible idiots who keep voting against their own interests by keeping Republicans in power.
The fake Christians at WorldNetDaily sicken me.- KJeffV, on 05/18/2008, -1/+2"[W]e are not debating w/people[sic] who have any grasp of nbrs or even reality."
That would incl you, Sheila.

- RecordKeeper, on 05/17/2008, -5/+3I am one who believes this article to be true.
I do not wish this once great nation under God to become a socialist nation.
God help us this the year we have no one to uphold our Constitution and the religious values of our founding fathers to vote for. All are evil and will lead this nation to a socialist government.
I shall vote because it is my duty and privilege to do so. I shall be writing in the name of my savorier Jesus Christ. Soon He will be returning and will be our ruler. It can not be too soon.- seala, on 05/18/2008, -0/+0There are many Christians who are also Socialists. I would say outside of America MOST Christians are Socialist when it comes to economic policy So many Americans seem to use the terms Right/Christian/Republican/Conservative or Left/Athiest/Democrat/Liberal as if they were interchangable. They are NOT.Many Conservatives are not Christians and many Christians are very Leftwing. When the Good Samaritan helped the robbed man, he did not question him to see if he was worthy or Moral before he helped nor did he put conditions on his help nor want anything in return.... On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. "Teacher," he asked, "what must I do to inherit eternal life?" "What is written in the Law?" he replied. "How do you read it?" He answered: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'" "You have answered correctly," Jesus replied. "Do this and you will live." But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?" . Those who don't wish to give aid are justifying themselves and their sin.
- KJeffV, on 05/18/2008, -1/+2There aren't any "Christians" who are socialist a/o Left-wing who have also read the Scripture, understood it, and took it to heart.
The Samaritan proved he was not only charitable, kind, & selfless; he proved he lived as Jesus would have us liveāon a personal level, just as Jesus taught. True Christians desire to give aid; in fact, most do. Christian conservatives simply don't want governmental demand & oversight because that's wealth collection f/redistribution. - Nannybell, on 05/18/2008, -1/+2Seala, as KJeffV said, individual christians and churches as groups are to help the poor on a voluntary basis, rather than the govt. taking our money to do the job itself. The less govt., the better. Socialists do not comprehend liberty. They want the govt. to be their mommy and daddy.
- seala, on 05/19/2008, -0/+0Yet people in countries that have what you would call socialist governments feel just as free if not more so than Americans. You never hear people in Australia or New Zealand talk about protecting themselves from their government the way even some posters on WND do. also if you look at any of the statistics in any area of Wellbeing ( crime, health, child abuse, abortion rates) we do much better as countries. What do you see as more important? Material wealth?
- KJeffV, on 05/19/2008, -0/+1"Yet people[sic] in countries that have what you would call socialist gov'ts feel just as free if not more so than Amers."
I hear that kind of tripe fr/Lefties all the time . . . exactly where do these "statistics" come from? I'll assume you personally conducted a poll of cross-demographics vice having given your personal opinion that you wish were true. By the bye, "Americans" incl everyone fr/Greenland to Chile, so I'm guessing your 1st survey should be geopolitical inasmuch as there are socialist countries IN Amer. - Nannybell, on 05/20/2008, -0/+1Seala,
You said, "... feel just as free if not more so than Americans..."
"FEEL just as free." Perception, but based on what reality? How could you possibly know this if you have not experienced the degree of liberty that we have (or ONCE had) in the USA? If all you have ever known is socialism, then you are not able to make the comparison. For instance, say you have a bird in a small cage and you put him in a larger cage. He might feel more free, but he's still in a cage. Let him out of a cage altogether and then ask him how free he feels.

- fuzybrat, on 05/17/2008, -3/+7Repsonsibility for one's actions is a concept the Democratic party has never been familiar with, so it's no surprise they want to spread their failed policies on a global level. Charity starts at home and that includes deciding whether to give and who to give it too. Elect politicians who will reduce and/or cut off funding to the corrupt UN.
- izackcarson, on 05/18/2008, -3/+1Responsibility. Let's see how much do we owe the citizens of nations where the U.S. either invades to depose democraticly elected leaders or just supports regimes that take away the ability of locals to earn a living. Tell you what, we can even limit it to the last 100 years of meddling. So the list would include Guatemala, Haiti, Columbia, Nicaragua, Inodnesia, Iraq, the Philippines, Grenada, South Korea, Panama, Bolivia, Peru, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Cuba . . . you know since the list is so long and just getting longer, maybe a global poverty initiative would be a better way to live up to our foreign policy legacy.
- seala, on 05/18/2008, -0/+2Charity starts at home. It does not end there. When people say it begins at home, they usually mean they dont give. They are also the ones who are not very charitable at home either.
- proveritas, on 05/17/2008, -2/+5The people of the United States are the most generous when it come to giving financial aid to other countries. Government money seems to end up in the wrong hands in third world countries. Christian organizations see better results when Americans donate freely of their own will. Will Obama's proposal erode the pocketbooks of those who want to give but can't because they will be robbed by increased taxes, creating more poverty in our own country? Is this the ultimate plan for America - to become a third world country? If indeed, Obama is elected and this comes to pass, will there be outrage among those who supported him and his socialist ideas? What will you say then? I voted for Bush yet felt betrayed by his policies - he betrayed the conservatives - I can't vote for McCain and I am still hoping for a third party candidate to emerge that espouses to UPHOLD THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES.

What drugs are they on at WND .. - bioya1, on 05/19/2008, -2/+20.7% of our GDP to foreign countries? I think not. If Libs are so fond of sending money to the U.N. maybe they should put their money where their mouth is. There are lots of rich libs that want to send YOUR money (but not theirs) - let them send THEIR money instead. Some of this gang of rich includes: Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Ted Kennedy, Al Gore, the Clinton's, most of Hollywood and half of Congress. These hypocrites are never ready to open their wallets but always anxious to pick yours.
- seala, on 05/19/2008, -0/+00.7% of our GDP to foreign countries? I think not. You are right. It should be at least 1% like most Western countries have as their ideal. Personally I would like it to be 10% like a tithe and I am a "poor" Christian who is willing to open my wallet that way.
