- MaximusIGN, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5This is why you NEVER post pictures of your kids on the Internet.
- aedmonds, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Sign the petition and help do something about this: http://www.petitiononline.com/jmelhado/petition.ht ...
- Leo21k, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2So adults are using non nude pics of children as their avatars and have pics on their profile of clothed children that they take from other peoples profiles? I thought this was about child porn... are they advertising something? I dont see the point in doing this, it's not like they are going to trick some 7 year old girl into talking to them.
- Dred242, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1If you're a flickr user, make sure you check and reset (if necessary) the permissions for your flickr photos....especially photos of your kids.
- hollibobolli, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Google and Orkut have been alerted to what is happening on their servers. By doing nothing, they are saying it is okay. They are saying it is okay to exploit children and violate copyrights (which you know Google would freak if it happened to them).
I am outraged, disgusted and completely disappointed in Google. I have been searching all day for pictures to see if my daughter is out there - what I've found is picture upon picture of my friends' children. It's illegal, it's immoral - it better stop immediately.
Orkut needs to be gone, along with the pedophiles who flat-out claim to have crushes on small children - or WORSE!!! - AccuraCast, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1The government of Brazil threatened to shut down Orkut last month:

Nothing concrete came off it, though - thewhitefedora, on 10/23/2007, -0/+1Nothing you put on the internet is safe unless it's back behind layers of SSL encryption. Even then, all things can be hacked. Please remember this when posting information, pictures, etc. on the internet.
- beavy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0I just recieved an e-mail from my husband that was written by sarahsmile1 warning us about pedophiles. Also, to be careful of photos of our children. I have gone to Myspace/Facebook and Flickr and have since taken all of the photos down of my children. But this is not enough! I am pissed to learn that Orkut was unsympathetic and NOT helpful in the least! How dare these groups pertect the pedophiles and not our innocent children!
First of all, how do I know if pictures of my kids are being used in any manner ? I made an account w/ Orkut to find out but am not well versed in that group. What would I do? What do i look for? Please know that I realise how sick it sounds that I want to know how to find these pictures..........But, I want to know if any of my kids pictures have been exploited!
I can be reached via e-mail at canadian_baby1975@ yahoo.com
Second,....WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP these people get the pics of their kids out of the hands of these pedophiles and exploiters????????????
THXS so so much Sarah smile 1 for bringing this to our attention.
PLEASE help me to find out if my children's pics have been stolen. Please send me info on how to help!
THXS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
canadian_baby1975@ yahoo .com - diggsucks23, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Seriously, in an age of super-powerful search engines, you shouldn't expect that something you post in a public "place" will not be found and used in a way you didn't expect. like someone above said, this kind of unintended use is just one reason why you shouldn't post pictures of your kids on the internet.
- sabrah1033, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2How can Google let this crap go unresolved?! This is disgusting!!!!!
- SparkyTwo, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1I am beyond outraged that this disgusting exploitation of children - in addition to outright photo theft is being allowed to continue even one second after it was exposed to the light of day. Every minute, every hour, every day leads to more harm for those children and their families.
A MESSAGE:
To every individual or company who is turning a blind eye for the sake of a buck:
I hope your pockets are turned inside out to pay the damages and I do believe with all my heart that parents, grandparents, relatives and friends of these children are mad and motivated enough to not let go of this matter until we see that happen. - jmsaylor, on 10/10/2007, -4/+2Google Wake Up, You are letting people under your services break the law. You have a responsibility.
Flickr, Yahoo, How about some help! - rjanuary, on 10/10/2007, -4/+1Orkut and ultimately Google need to be held accountable for what goes happens on their site.
