- soarin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Halliburton is the company that Cheney was CEO of before he bacame Veep.
Halliburton's stock is up 3000% since Cheney took office. Coincidence? He's still getting a salary from Halliburton as well. (Although it's "deferred" so that should make it okay, right?)
Tens Billions of dollars in Iraq money are "lost" all the time as well, and the people investigating it usually somehow wind up "suicided" or at least demoted.
These guys are basically looting our country in the name of "fighting terror" -- it's your basic protection racket. - edifus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6They made their money through defense firms they're in bed with and will continue to make money due to this. They raked the flames to make the situation worse so now they just have to sit back and reap the profits.
- iching, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Cheney shot his friend in the face and he worries about being tarred by historians?
How about being tarred and feathered and run out of town on a rail? Maybe that that is something he should be more worried about in an American historical tradition.
"At Salem,on September 7, 1768, a British informer named Robert Wood 'was stripped, tarred and feathered and placed on a hogshead under the Tree of Liberty on the Common.' - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Ha. I don't think Cheney needs to be worried. Rove's the next victim. And even that's just if the dems can regain control of the senate.
- mattsidesinger, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Ha, Iraq is now Cheney's red-headed step child.
- populist, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2yup. cowards. all of them. right. uh huh. invading a country, killing countless people, and then finally leaving when the population refuses to give up is just a sign of weakness.
i'm sick of these weak bastards. kill more!
