- Shayer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I hold Henry Kissinger personally responsible for the death of millions due to his policies and his appetite for war and suffering. This man deserves to be rotting in jail waiting out his days till he dies, and not in the government running yet another generation of young people.
- Junkyarddawg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I think McCain is increasingly realizing that with Jeb Bush all but dead in the water, he's now the republican front runner for the 2008 presidential election.
He's been sufficiently critical of Bush that maybe he isn't tarnished by association, and he's a war hero (until someone decides to swiftboat him).
However, in order to win he needs the evangelicals and the nutty right votes too, and I think what we're seeing now is a bunch of moves by McCain to appeal to those groups. I wouldn't be suprised if he suddenly made a big issue of supporting some of the most cherished issues of the nutty right/evangelicals, e.g. banning stem-cell research or banning contraceptives (highly unlikely), banning gay marriage (unlikely), or banning abortion (highly likely), - hawkeye17, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Kissinger is rising up from the grave like friggin' Dracula to screw up this generation too. It's pathetic what we've sunk to in this country under Bush. I can hear Henry now, "Listen to the sounds of bombs exploding...what sweet music they make!"
