There are plenty of funny songwriters out there, but none possess his sheer musical and lyrical prowess - in fact, to find anyone in the same league, you'd have to leave the comedy arena and look to the greatest poets in popular music (Joni Mitchell, Paul Simon) or the best Broadway songwriters (Cole Porter, Stephen Sondheim).
That this guy isn't a regular on The Daily Show, or The Colbert Report, or Real Time with Bill Maher -- or his own damn show is a crime.

Roy's songs can be funny, insightful, poignant, full of great metaphors and wordplays and always politically correct!

He has been called the New Tom Lehrer, but, as wonderful as Tom Lehrer was, Roy is even better! dzieger is correct, that we don't see him on national TV is a travesty!! He should at least be singing Defenders of Marriage on Ellen's show!!
