- KCtheKat, on 10/12/2007, -6/+25"For all you do, This beer's for you." Corporate sponsorship for illegal aliens. I guess Miller Beer feels the need for cheap/illegal employee appreciation day.
- HeyJT, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2837 year Miller drinker, resident of Milwaukee, no longer a Miller drinker. Corporate sponsorship of Illegal aliens does not cut it with me. Read the stats that North Carolina put out regarding illegal aliens and drunk driving......appalling.
Busch is no better. They sponsor scholorships for Hispanics and never check to insure the reciepents are legal citizens. - pubscout, on 10/12/2007, -6/+20I'm surprised Corona's not supporting the march...maybe this is Miller's attempt to snatch market share?
- bperrin, on 10/12/2007, -4/+17 You know.....a smart beer company would promote a march for legal immigration, supporting the law.
Miller would look a like a deer in the headlights. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -13/+23You see guys, pacifism, "bleeding hearts" in all of its manifestations is a turn away
from life, a refusal to life itself, avoidance, it's contraction,
separatness. A refusal to deal with unpleasantnesses. There's nothing
whatsoever "virtuous" about it. It's merely cowardice disguised as
virtue. Remember that next time you run into a pacificst, an anti-
war or "bleeding heart" "liberal". Ha! Like we're all to dumb to not see through it??
Ha! - skitzot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10How about we just support good beer? Miller or Busch haven't made good beer since before I was born...
- BullyJack, on 10/12/2007, -13/+23What's really amazing is that they're not being thrown into a paddy wagon and carted back to Mexico.
- torpedoman2002, on 10/12/2007, -8/+17I was a die hard Miller beer drinker since the inception of MGD. No longer will I buy any of their products. I also wrote them and told them the same thing telling them I hope the illegals will keep them afloat because I will not buy their products again. I wish companies would just manufacture and sell their products and keep their nose out of politics. I don't know why they suddenly think they need to tell us their political views.
- TheWriteJerry, on 10/12/2007, -18/+27Ah yes, just what we need - a bunch of drunk lawbreakers on the march. I don't drink, but I'm starting today just so I can boycott Miller products.
What's next - a condom company sponsering pedophilia? - torpedoman2002, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9So that is ok to break our laws. Look don't get me wrong I'm all for legal immigration, and in fact a guest worker program. As long as we know who is coming into the country and what they are going to be doing here.
In the 40's my grandfather had a farm in North Texas. Every summer there was a program where you "sponsored" a worker from Mexico to come up, work for you, then he would go home to his family. This helped my grandfather a lot as a farmer, and it helped the worker support his family, and finally it was a legal program. He didn't go to the street corners and picked up a few people he knew were in this country illegally.
So I ask what is wrong with knowing who is coming into this country? What is wrong with following the laws of a host country. As I traveled the world (including Mexico) I did not go to that country and disrespect their laws, fly an American flag on a public flag pole, State the land was mine, etc... All I'm asking of these people is to respect my country, and obey her laws. - zeerocks, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12Same here, I've drank Miller for years. Not any more.
I'm tired of companies and politicians selling out American workers so they can get cheap votes/labor. Living in Los Angeles, I know first hand how Illegal Immigration affects quality of life. It's gone way beyond ridiculous. And I'm a Democrat!
Illegal Immigration is the number one issue effecting my quality of life. I am inundated by it. This has got to stop, and I will actively use my vote and pocketbook to fight any and all corporate or political sponcers! - threemagic, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Can I just have a Guinness and not drink either of these american corporate beers?
- BullyJack, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8My biggest pet peeve = censorship from so-called 'civil liberties' liberals
- PantherX, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9I'm going to spend the weekend drinking Lienie's Sunset Wheat anyway.
Keep your politics out of my beer. - BullyJack, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7She posts viable stories that you won't even hear on Fox News.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Drink Paulener. Fantastic German beer.
- lanigel, on 10/12/2007, -6/+12Do you remember, on September 11, 2001 Starbucks employee refused firefighters' request for the bottled water for the rescued people? I never walked in their store or bought their coffee after that
How low do we have to hit to start bouncing back? - radishthegreat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6They're costing us way more in crime, social services, vandalism, and lost wages (the wages of unskilled blacks are going down...why don't liberals care about black people?) than the increase on the price strawberries.
- Ghstfce, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9I used to drink MGD, but no more. I think it's great how my uncles and grandparents came here and had to study and work hard to get their citizenship but these Mexicans can just waltz across our borders and try to call it fair? ANY company that supports this blatant disregard for law should be drawn and quartered on live television. And how come almost all of the illegal immigrants are from our neighbors to the south? Does Mexico and South America have the extra chromosome that makes you a retard? How can every other country but them get it?!!!? Jesus, just build a Walmart down there, that will solve the problem. They seem to be attracted to that place.
- radishthegreat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Paulaner's good. So's Hacker-Pschorr. This is a really good opportunity to patronize small American-owned local breweries, though. In WI, I like New Glarus, Lakefront, Lake Mills, Capitol, and Sprecher. Mmmmm, Sprecher.
- Jrgurl, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8@davidkeithjones
intelligent=not you - radishthegreat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Dammit, I promised a friend from out of town I'd take him to the Brewers game this weekend, and now I really don't want to patronize Miller Park. I'm still pissed about Klement's adding Chorizo to the sausage race to pander to the local illegals when they don't even MAKE a chorizo.
I'm all about Spotted Cow and Lakefront anyway. - torpedoman2002, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5True fact. Free advertising. However I really hope they had someone look long term and see if it would upset their long term customers like myself. If you get an short term bump in sells because you sponsored something like this, only to loose money in the long term because you upset your base, well as far as I'm concerned it wasn't a smart decision. Now the article did state that they were not too concerned about the anti-illegal group so maybe they did look into the long term effects. I don't know but I do know they lost this long time customer.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -8/+12Any retard who would refuse a firefighter or rescue worker water for injured people should become a statistic.
- BullyJack, on 10/12/2007, -7/+11What's with all of the babbling? I can't make sense out of any of this *****.
Rule of thumb: If you're going to rag somebody, please try to be funny. - drterylene, on 10/12/2007, -6/+10I just hope they go out of business. But then that's probably asking for miracles since something like 90% of the country will never know about this and never care. But take away their "reality" TV shows and then you'd hear from them.
- aceg1357, on 10/12/2007, -6/+10sigh i really liked henry weinhard's private reserve. now i'm gunna be giving it up.
how on earth did someone think it was a good idea to sponsor an event for ILLEGAL aliens.
then someone from the march who is drinking heavily will get into their car drunk, hit somebody, and have no insurance to pay for it.
i hope someone gets fired for this brilliant idea. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Coors Light is far superior to Miller Light. Miller tastes like piss water to me as far as light beers go in the US. As far as beers that aren't light, go for a Yuengling.
Oh, and Miller will no longer be apart of that "Cheap Beer" purchase run for house parties. - bperrin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5@dshPls
How about the retard who comments on it?.....Seriously. - russryba, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Cool. Maybe the INS will attend the event too.
- spookshowbaby, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Wow. Good thing I drink Budweiser.
- drterylene, on 10/12/2007, -20/+22You're an idiot (though all of Michelle's fans know that by now.) This war against the illegals is not a party war. Both Conservatives and Liberals are selling the country out. So, you're comments along party lines prove nothing aside from the fact that you will just go against anything Conservatives are for. I wouldn't be surprised if Conservatives rallied against ingesting rat poison and Liberals like yourself would run out, buy a box and eat up.
The fact is that Miller is flat out wrong and that's what the article is about. Nothing political. I don't drink but almost wish I did just so I could boycott Miller products. It's very ironic how they create a product that privately encourages lawbreaking (drunk driving, assault, etc.), but publicly tries to make it seem as if they really care about preventing such crime with their bogus campaign asking people to "Live Responsibly." It's no different than anything the cigarette companies do, but those idiots at Truth will never bother to address that.
This move to support illegal aliens is just as heinous as any of the acts of people who don't "Live Responsibly" and thrust their problems upon the rest of the law abiding society. - jackman0654, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The people that think illegals save us money have just not done there homework. The cost of illegals in tax dollars is astounding and most people have no idea.We spend billions to house and feed the 30 to 35% of illegals that are being held in federal and state prisons. At least 105 billion for educating illegals in school. Illegals have been responsible for shutting down at least7 badly needed hospitals in California alone. Billions for social programs welfare and the like. Also billions for printing federal documents in Spanish alone. This does not even take into consideration the horrendous cost of the 70 to 75% of illegal drugs that cross that border and the destruction of American lives many very young people. What I have stated is no where near all the expense we are being used and made fools by Mexico. For the money we spend on illegal aliens we could fund health care for Every American in this country. We need to wake up and stop being used.
- tont0r, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Im suprised that no one is looking at this from a marketing standpoint.
You have an 'event' that will have hundreds, if not thousands of people attending. Also it will more than likely be on the news that thousands of people will be watching it, and whats in the background? a nice big advertisment for all to see. - SnowWolf102001, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Hey Dwemer
I'm a Vet...I've been in Combat twice...it was in the Navy and I never once felt unsafe...however...am I qualified to call you a jerk?...
if so...you're a Jerk! - soulflakes, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Yeah, drink an Irish corproate beer instead.
- BullyJack, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I don't really drink Natural Light.
I love Paulener, but my favorite is Pilsner Urquell. - groceryheist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2SOmeone needs to stop these aliens from marching illegally.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -9/+10She's better than Ann Coulter. She's one of the most reliable, down-to-earth bloggers you'll find.
- animalgod, on 10/12/2007, -5/+6You both suck at logic.
You also suck at language. - steveoa3d, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4That will show them, since Miller Brews most of the Lienie's right here in Milwaukee.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3damn liberals for you, selling out the country.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Nice rant. Totally agree with you.
Mexicans cost the economy more than it benefits us.
All they do is refuse to speak English, flip burgers and clean toilets and join stupid gangs.
***** em off now. I'll vote for the first part with a coherent plan for getting rid of these *****. - boure, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Darn, Pilsner Urquell too? Bummer.
- simplycontent, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5I can't believe that so many people are so ignorant about this issue. Big players in the hospitality industry have come out and said that without "illegal aliens" all of the luxuries that you enjoy so much would be much more expensive. Think 1/3 more for hotels, restaurant food, etc. We bitch about 30 cents more per gallon of gasoline and you don't realize what causes these things to raise in price?
- idiggeverything, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5Who drinks that crappy beer anyway? YAY FOR ILLEGALS!
- maklershed, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I drink Canadian Club to avoid the draft
- tont0r, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3People want to do that. Rather than forcing employers to employee LEGAL citizens, they would rather build a monsterous wall along the boarders.
- MattLat, on 10/12/2007, -9/+9oh man. I read the title and description, and I thought to myself "This sounds like one of those michelle malkin 'articles'" before actually looking. I'm gettin' good at this.
- dshPls, on 10/12/2007, -12/+11Just look at who diggs this *****, they have every one of her articles dugg, go through and bury them all ;)
