- Parsrebel, on 04/15/2009, -12/+45Only Repubs are dumb enough to go "Tea Bagging" each other for..
1. Imaginary tax increases
2. FIXED news talking heads
3. The rich Republicans who won't go protesting, because they have morons do it for them
4. Government spending that is actually TRYING TO HELP THEIR TEA BAGGING ASSES
keep tea bagging, it's good entertainment for all of us.. - gypsie, on 04/15/2009, -9/+37If you are indoctrinated moron, you are teabagging today. Why are you a moron? Because except for the wealthy sponsors of teabagging events everyone's else taxes had been lowered! And that previous president had created debt larger than all the presidents since 1789 combined is no issue for you. You did know back then that we will have to pay it back. Didn't you? Take out umbrellas today folks. It could be raining morons.
- killerpotato, on 04/15/2009, -3/+22Dick Armey? What's his wife's name, Vagina Coastguard?
- nipplash, on 04/15/2009, -3/+22It sucks, I know. Kind of sad to see Neo-Cons pretending to be Libertarians. Kind of reminds me of those surburban kids back in the day who thought it was cool to dress in their little punk rock uniforms on the weekends.
- dissolutionman, on 04/15/2009, -7/+23Damn. That had to be the best chain of double entendres I've ever heard. And all with a straight face. David Schuster, you ***** win.
http://tinyurl.com/d7sqbx - ReasonWinsOut, on 04/15/2009, -10/+26I loved this piece today. And I hope all the tea-baggers have "a ball" protesting the very tax rates their former champions, Bush and Republican congressmen, put in place. :-)
- Toshibi, on 04/15/2009, -11/+26***** Republicans taking classic Libertarian and Tax Protesters Special days. Damn it all to hell. Now that the Republicans are involved it just means that the ***** Democrats will talk ***** about us all...lump us in with those ***** douche bags.
- EchoMike, on 04/15/2009, -2/+16Today's "tea parties" a waste of time because they're going to accomplish nothing. Protesting taxes and government spending today is going to be as effective as the Iraq War protests that have been happening since 2003. It's going to fall on deaf ears: in Congress, with lobbyists, with banks and big corporations, and (after the novelty wears off,) the media.
Look, I'm not always happy with the way my taxes are spent either. However, this is unlike the days of the Boston Tea Party. Today, we have taxation WITH representation (except in D.C.), and if you don't like where your money's spent, get involved in the political process or run for office yourself.
If you disagree though, by all means -- go to a tea party and knock yourself out. Stand alongside disgruntled Republicans, the "Fair Tax" libertarians and the far-right blowhards like Limbaugh and Malkin who helped organize the things. See firsthand how pointless the activity is going to be. - Lavarock, on 04/15/2009, -5/+18I liked the part where they stuck their balls in someone's mouth.
- Luigi808, on 04/15/2009, -3/+15I know right. The writer of his script must have been laughing in the background.
- ReasonWinsOut, on 04/15/2009, -10/+21Some may call it a "nutfest." I just call it another day of teabagging.

"teabagging
the insertion of one man's sack into another person's mouth. Used a practical joke or prank, when performed on someone who is asleep, or as a sexual act.
At the frat house last night, when Tim was wasted an down on the floor, he got teabagged by, like, ten guys!
Me and Jen were teabagging last night when her mom walked in. Awkward." - ObamaYouth, on 04/15/2009, -4/+13I don't get it. I don't find 10% tax too much burden. The public services I get from it are worth every penny. Those protesters, if sincere, are too, how do I put it, careful with money.
- kingcam, on 04/15/2009, -3/+12Dude, it is astroturfing, get over it, move on.
- tpmidd, on 04/15/2009, -4/+13Thankfully we have Vagina Coastguard to protect our lakes, rivers, estuaries, bays, and oceans from this excessive tea bagging.

In summary: marginal tax rate at the top under Reagan: 50%, Bush: 35%, Obama: 39.6%
OHHH NOOESSS. Snap bitch, you're wrong. And including the personal debt calculated from the national debt is meaningless, how much did Bush's spend happy days add to each person's "personal - national" debt? So shut the ***** up you nancy tea-bagger. - Yesplease, on 04/15/2009, -3/+10Obama is sitting at around 66% approval rating... That 2/3 majority is telling you and the rest of the teabaggers to shut the hell up.
- dn11, on 04/15/2009, -3/+10Internet: I will you to bring me an animated GIF of master chief tea bagging Glenn Beck.

"A libertarian"
is someone who wants to take America back to the way it was run in the 1800s, regardless of how much the world has changed since then. Libertarians also have mean hard-ons for unregulated capitalism, believing that the "Invisible Hand" will erase poverty and create a utopia instead of what ACTUALLY happens when you let companies do whatever they want, which is:
-Children working in factories and mines
-Corporate monopolies
-Workplaces where death is likely
-Low, low wages
-***** in your food (Read Upton Sinclair's "The Jungle")
-Even more extreme corporate corruption and political pawns than we have now.
-Getting the living ***** stomped out of you by company-hired goons for trying to organize a union (Battle of the Overpass)
"God I've got such a mean hard-on for capitalism!" *fapfapfapfapfap*
-Typical libertarian - Dreeon, on 04/15/2009, -4/+10This isn't grassroots, it's Astroturf, a fact that has been pointed out time and again.
- charlietuna, on 04/15/2009, -1/+7***** it! They did it live!
- freedomjoe, on 04/15/2009, -11/+16Too good for words....Well done!
I had suggested to a tea bagger that they might instead wear two sour grapes, one on each side of their head (in a tea bag homage, if u will).... so they could be the Sour Grapes, which would make their protest immediately identifiable (very important in branding) and would resonate with others right away. My fear is that the tea is simply too much of a stretch. since it makes no sense.
Happy Epic Fail Frothing Foaming at the Mouth bag o Crazy footage day!!!AKA, the Sour Grapes Party.
- jsffive, on 04/15/2009, -2/+7I have a question:
Is a "Dick Cheney" anything like a "nose ringey"? - TigerStar337, on 04/15/2009, -7/+11Dick Armey is teabagging the USA.
It is funny to see the Republicans protesting the Bush tax rates. BUSHED!!! Funny stuff, IMHO. :-)
It is funny too that they want to cut taxes for the rich, but they themselves make less than $120,000. How about tax cuts for the middle class and poor? Oh, well. - raeshao, on 04/15/2009, -9/+13Tightlipped, licked, mouthful, an army of dicks? Wow.

Hilarious. - lordmike, on 04/15/2009, -1/+5The fed"bailouts" (which aren't bailouts, but what the central bank is supposed to do.... please take an economics course) ARE congressionally authorized... by the Federal Reserve Act of 1913. If you want to bitch at anyone, please go back in time and complain to them.
- SpinningHead, on 04/15/2009, -1/+5Careful, nicegeek. Normally, when the right accuses the left of something, the right already has the same plan in the works.
- BuriedAgain, on 04/15/2009, -1/+5Some people on the far left seem to be confused about the tea party events. I consider myself a reasonable, center-right, fiscal conservative, so I'll try to help clear things up a bit. These aren't talking points, but they are my understandings of the thoughts behind the protests:
The reason for calling the events tea parties is to protest the growing tax and spend policies. The Boston tea party was held in protest of tax policy, so that's the thought there - to protest gov't tax and spend policy and powers.
1) Bailouts - Wall street, big businesses, etc. The bailouts are essentially using our tax money to make poor investments or to invest in toxic, overvalued assets. Savvy investors wouldn't make these investments, so why are our gov't representatives forcing us to invest in them? This gov't is supposed to be about for the people and by the people. Representatives should listen to their constituents and make decisions. This is about not losing touch with the people you represent.
2) Gov't expansion - Recently the gov't, Congress especially, has been acting outside the scope of their duties according to the Constitution. Nothing new here; they do it often, but things seem to be getting a lot worse lately. I remember hearing one day that we owe a huge debt to China. I remember thinking, "I never voted for that, and I don't know many people who would say, 'sure, let's just borrow the money we don't have from the Chinese!'" The vast majority of the people I know would say we should only use the money we have at hand.
3) Keynesian economics - Non-partisan Keynesian multiplier research concluded just this Feb. that gov't spending in modern times has much less impact than was once thought. We're spending over a trillion dollars on recovery (over $1,000,000,000,000 just to see all the zeros), but the long-run interest and debt will harm future generations more than simply doing nothing about the recession or providing tax cuts and reducing spending rather than borrowing and spending as a stimulus.
4) States' rights (some people anyway) - Fiscally conservative states who aren't in any financial problems shouldn't have to pay for fiscally liberal states who are in financial trouble because of their spending budgets and tax policies. This is sort of like the ants and the grasshopper fable where the ants spends the warm weather preparing and the grasshopper spends the warm months, well, not preparing. When the cold arrives, the ants reap the benefits of their policies while the grasshopper is in real trouble. - Dgen_X, on 04/15/2009, -4/+8Hi, my name is Andrew, my next paycheck is going to be $20-$30 larger thanks to the federal stimulus bill, and I was able to take advantage of last year's first time homebuyer's tax credit (which has to be paid back to the government over 15 years without interest) which will help me put a new roof on my house in the next 5 years or so.
Maybe those things weren't part of the 'bailout' bills...but these fools are tea bagging the stimulus package, and I'm sure if Obama was president when the first time home buyer credit was passed they would be tea bagging that too. - roho76, on 04/15/2009, -4/+7-FAUX NEWS did NOT start the Tea Party and neither did Newt or Armey. These guys are shills and are not part of our movement.
-The Tea Party is not about throwing tea bags into the river.
-News anchors who present themselves in a smarmy manner and do little to no investigative work and rely on baseless attacks, name calling, repeating the term "Tea Bagging", and showing a picture of Paul Krugman is not journalism. (This goes for Fox, MSNBC, CNN, ABC, and CBS and all other mainstream media outlets).
-This is not about Republicans or Democrats, it's about over bloated government.
-Fox News didn't jump on the band wagon until McCain lost. We have always had a problem with overspending and over taxing government and is not just a result of Obama's spending. - makkaveli19, on 04/15/2009, -1/+4wtf, i don't agree with you. BTW lib is not a derogatory term where i am from. dick face.
- EchoMike, on 04/15/2009, -1/+4The Federal Reserve is and has been one of the most inefficiently run and poorly regulated elements in our government for a long time, and that is an area that can be changed through involvement in government. That's another reason why do-nothing, lobby-pleasing senators and representatives need to GTFO of Washington.
I also agree with your second point. "Petitioning our elected representatives to vote on our behalf" is getting involved in the political process. Standing in a crowd and shouting isn't. It's nothing more than a theatrical publicity stunt. - jshhmr, on 04/15/2009, -1/+4Dugg for the title alone!
- felman87, on 04/15/2009, -1/+4Fox news doesn't have balls
- victorsage, on 04/15/2009, -1/+4Dreeon, it's already happened...
- Dreeon, on 04/15/2009, -1/+4You gotta fight to take back your party before this country ends up a one-party system.
- qXdc, on 04/15/2009, -1/+4Its not teabagging, its tea parties. It's about the spending that will require higher taxes. It's not a republican thing, infact Steel was told he cant speak at one of the events. Wise up.
- tekgnos, on 04/15/2009, -0/+3No, the CEOs in question get million dollar bonuses because the bend congress over and take the public's money. Your money. My money. Not because they actually provide a service. They actually just lose tons of money.
- sciencelovesyou, on 04/15/2009, -1/+4Sure. Get pissed off. Wave a sign. Protest. Do it, it's your right to, and I fully support that.
But, the New American Tea Party website has a big section on the groups that "proudly" sponsor them, and there's no way on ***** Earth I'd ever want to be associated with a group that is funded by The Heartland Institute (which has been heavily funded by Exxon Mobile over the years) the Americans for Tax Reform (Grover Norquist, their head, helped lobby for credit card companies AND was part of a conviction involving skimming from mutual funds), The National Taxpayers Union (Duane Parde, their President, was still on the Exxon Mobile payroll) and, of course, the Young Conservatives Coalition.
Do I think the Government should spend less money? Yes. Do I feel the government is particularly smart about my money? Not at all.
But I don't need Exxon Mobile to help me find my voice.
