- jmbreland, on 10/15/2007, -1/+14I don't get the controversy. Coulter is not saying anything new or outlandish. Basic Christian doctrine says - and always has said - that Christ is the only way to obtain eternal life. The New Testament quotes Jesus as saying, "No man can come to the Father except by me." So where's the logic behind the allegations that Coulter is expressing "anti-Semitic" ideas?
Look at it this way. A Christian believes that Christ is the only way to heaven. He or she genuinely wants other people - be they Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Humanists or whatever - to find the Way. Even if you don't accept Christian doctrine, what's "offensive" about that? If someone were trying to save my life, their efforts wouldn't offend me, even if I didn't think my life was in danger.
Me thinks this whole hoopla is more about politics than about faith. More specificially, I think it's about amoral hedonists feeling threatened by any system of belief that upholds absolute standards of morality and spirituality. - lazerus9, on 10/15/2007, -1/+14I think that it is very comforting that the Jews and Christians can argue and disagree passionately about the nature of God and whose beliefs best reflect Gods Divine plan, without feeling compelled to chop each others heads off in His name.
- aerostar, on 10/15/2007, -1/+12Right on, jmbreland. What is happening here, is another attack on Christianity in general (by the devil and his minions, of course). To do so, they are trying to find the various voices of Christian Faith, and attack THEM, personally.
This week it is Ann Coulter. Last week it was Rush Limbaugh. The week before that it was Sean Hannity. The week before that it was Michael Savage.
These anti-God & anti-Christ Leftists (is there any other kind of leftist?!?) are in a well organized and concerted effort to ultimately and permanently remove God from any National Expression. Their hatred for God & Christ... and any mention of them, has no bounds. They will stop at nothing.
Can you imagine their frustration, when in the 50's, they get prayer out of school, and Mad-Murray-O'Hare was their hero... but we Christians did not just fold up our blankets and go home. We did NOT go away. We who are passionate about our faith and love our God... we STUCK AROUND. We refused to let them corral us like a bunch of mules.
Then in the 60's, 70's and 80's they continue to advance their agenda, and encroach further on Christian expression. They want to remove the Salvation Army from store entrances, where they 'ring their bells' for Christmas donations. They got Walmart to enforce upon their employees "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas." Prayer at Commencement Services is banned. Prayer (and ANY expression of faith) is banned at sporting events... football players who knelt and prayed in the End Zone after they made touchdowns were punished, and in some cases, expelled. Little by little they have chipped away at our expressions of faith.
We have been like the frog, they tried to boil... You throw a live frog into hot boiling water, and he jumps immediately out! But you put that frog in cold water and then put that pan of cold water on the stove, and heat it slowly with the frog still in it, and you can absolutely cook that frog because the temperature change is small and gradual.
Fellow Frogs... they are trying to cook us and our Freedom of Religious Expression, RIGHT NOW!
Ann Coulter is just the current recipient of their spleen. Who knows, it may be YOU... who is next... Think about it. - Sandy1000, on 10/15/2007, -2/+11You know, Christians can't win! If they don't tow the perfect line and they dare make a mistake, society calls them "hypocrites" for their inability to be perfect while acknowledging that there IS a definitive right and wrong. However, now you have Coulter being FAITHFUL to her beliefs and actually proclaiming the standard of Christianity by accurately stating the doctrine of Christ and what is happening? She's being labeled a "hypocrite". I don't get it. What does society want from Christians? Either you want them to be faithful to the Christian doctrine, even if that means rejecting immoral acts that society tolerates or you want them to abandon all beliefs of the Christian doctrine and just be heathens tolerating all forms of indecency and immorality. You don't get it both ways. Pick a side and live with it. But remember, it's a two edge sword - if you want Christians to stop believing the Bible and ignore the standards it teaches ("judgementalism), then you also throw out all the "good" parts of it to include love, forgiveness, mercy, kindness and salvation. Take it all or leave it all. Christianity ain't no cafeteria style religion.
- watnext, on 10/15/2007, -1/+9Horrowitz comes forth with the understanding and concerns that the Jewish people were respected for. He can put the shoe on the other foot. More people like him would be an asset to Christianity.
- Taquoshi, on 10/15/2007, -1/+8FTA Interview ---
DEUTSCH: Why don't I put you with the head of Iran? I mean, come on. You can't believe that.
COULTER: The head of Iran is not a Christian.
DEUTSCH: No, but in fact, "Let's wipe Israel" –
COULTER: I don't know if you've been paying attention.
DEUTSCH: "Let's wipe Israel off the earth." I mean, what, no Jews?
COULTER: No, we think – we just want Jews to be perfected, as they say.
Interesting that the interviewer tried to lump Ann with the head of Iran. Also interesting that his focus was on wiping Israel off the map. Ann never said that. She said that she would like to see Jews come to faith in Christ. She used the word "perfected". Since we know several Messianic Jews, I would have used the word "completed". But as jmbreland pointed out in the first post, there is nothing unusual in that wish. Curious that the interviewer felt "offended". His job must be really tough if he is that easily offended. Either that, or he is really insecure about what he believes. I'm happy to know that David Horowitz, whom I admire greatly, is secure enough in who he is and what he believes not to be offended by someone else's statement. And I am glad to know that Ann understands what she believes in also. There are alot of people out there who don't. - believer007, on 10/15/2007, -2/+8Hence we must study and know the Holy scripture as our Father in Heaven has taught us
- believer007, on 10/14/2007, -0/+6I'm so looking forward to being the next on the chopping block, Amen and I do appreciate your commentaries
- debran, on 10/17/2007, -2/+8As a Christian I am not offended by Jewish people believing that they are the "Chosen People' of God. I don't know why a Jewish person would be offended by a Christian stating their believes. As long as their is no force or compulsion involved members of both religions can certainly believe in their superiority to one another.
- gongwh, on 10/16/2007, -1/+7Ann is right on. She is not anti-Semitic from all of the work that she's done on behalf of her support for Israel. As a Christian, I am not "perfect", but I'm forgiven. Christ "perfected me" when I believed. I would passionately want the Jews and others to know the forgiveness that only comes from God the Father through Christ. That is "perfecting".
- Taquoshi, on 10/15/2007, -1/+7Amen to that!!!
- Mom2GIQM, on 10/17/2007, -1/+6It takes a lot of courage as a Christian even in America to speak about what you believe...knowing that words, thoughts, deeds are being so critically analyzed...not for truth, but for anti-Christian ammunition. Far too many people waiting to jump on the "I've been victimized!" train.
David Horowitz at least has enough brains to understand what Ann Coulter was saying. More people need to use their brains rather than their volatile and fickle emotions. The latter is a psychological description of immaturity. - johnny2k, on 10/15/2007, -1/+6Hmmm.... KCat, I understand what you are saying.... but wait, I AM a Christian, and I AM a patriot, and a Republican. Now, because there are some people out there in the GOP that are destroying the party, does that make the rest of us Republicans wrong or bad? Of course not! don't be silly!
What we need to do is to find people in the Republican party that ARE patriots and Christians, and then let's see if we can't turn things around. No, I'm not jumping ship just because the Captain is steering on the wrong course. Me and my buddies are going to have a little mutiny and reclaim the ship.... I don't think the rest of my buddies have jumped ship yet.... In fact, there is that one candidate that is a Republican that I think a lot of us are looking to be leading us the way back on to the correct course. Let's see, what's his name? Could it be Ron Paul?
By the way, Ann Coulter needs to read ILANA MERCER's column, "Ron Paul's Electability" - http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTI ... Rudy just isn't ONE OF US!!! - watnext, on 10/15/2007, -1/+5Definetly Johnny2k on the spot. I couldn't agree more. One apple can spoil the rest but not if it's removed in time. Time is now, 2008 elections.
- Taquoshi, on 10/17/2007, -0/+3Joy Behar on "The View" apparently had words to say about Ann and accused her of attacking the Jews. I wasn't in the room when it started, but was called in by my mother, who was watching it. Joy said that Ann would never attack the Muslims like she attacked the Jews. I wasn't aware that it was considered "an attack". I thought it was a comment. Who knew????
- lazerus9, on 10/15/2007, -1/+4These topics always stimulate lively discussions, a veritable mine field, but the truth is a powerful weapon and after all we know who is laying the mines!
- Taquoshi, on 10/20/2007, -0/+3There are some of us that do follow the festivals and understand some of the Torah. Not much, but some.
- these3remain, on 10/15/2007, -2/+5David Horowitz took a brave stand considering how "Christophobic" our culture has become. Ann Coulter is blessed for she is being persecuted for Our Lord's namesake - unlike many Christians who think they are being persecuted for that reason when in reality is is because of their holier than thou attitude. Ms. Coulter, like many professing Christians, could have done a better job explaining her faith and position, i.e., as christians we are "completed" jews which may (or may not) have been less offensive. But the fact of the matter is that the mainstream media will do anything to make Christians the brunt of as much scorn and hatred as possible and Jesus, to those who are perishing , is the rock of offense. Deutsch lumping Ann Coulter and therefore Christians who practice Biblical Christianity in with Ahmadinejad was actually the one who was being "hateful". Practicing Christians know their responsibility to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and realize that the Jews are God's chosen people and as such, we are to stand beside them in every way since they are the ones who will eventually, evangelize the earth after Christ's return.
- inactive, on 10/19/2007, -0/+3Very well done !!!
- inactive, on 10/15/2007, -2/+5After Jesus, none get to heaven without Him. Jews included.
- inactive, on 10/19/2007, -1/+4Agreed
- wswyatt, on 10/15/2007, -1/+3Ann was correct in her statements. And as far as it goes, Israel is the Chosen People--Judah was only one of Jacob's sons--there were 11 more with Joseph getting a double portion. True Israel are thru-out the world and I believe them to be the Christian nations--or those nations that believe in the risen Saviour. The jews will be added back after the return of Christ. That is what we as Christians believe. It saddens me that people have ears, but cannot hear--as this man did not hear her words, but chose to become offended and then made a literal fool of himself and tried to blame Ann for just about everything. Thank you Mr. Horowitz for your stand. You had your ears on.
- inactive, on 10/15/2007, -2/+4The Bible is emphatic that God ordained the Jewish people as His vehicle to bring Jesus into the world to redeem all who trust in Him. The Bible is also emphatic that, despite Israel's rejection of Jesus, God will someday obtain national righteousness from Israel, and a remnant will "look upon Him" whom their fathers pierced (John 18:37). During the thousand years of righteousness under Christ's rule, Israel will give their Messiah the praise and honor due to Him.
Yet, because Israel has not yet experienced such a change of heart, but rather, opposes Christ and his followers, our Lord and New Testament Scriptures warn Christians to be suspicious of the "whited sepulchers" of a religion based on the teachings of those who killed Christ, the pharisees. Christ said, "beware of the leaven (teachings) of the pharisees, which is hypocrisy." (Mark 8:15) Paul said of the Jews, "beware of the concision." (Philippians 3:2) He also said of the Jews, that "from the standpoint of the gospel" they are enemies for your sake. (Rom. 11:28)
The balanced Christian, thus, recognizes God's long-term plan for the redemption of a remnant of Israel. At the same time, he is very wary of a system which, rejecting great light, has plunged into great spiritual darkness. Tragically, the church has been unable to retain this Biblical balance and perspective during the 20th century. Believing that to "bless" Israel means agreement with it and support of its policies, right or wrong, the church has bid godspeed to a wicked system. Far from redeeming it, it has become a partaker of Israel's injustices. By supporting Israel's atrocities against Palestinians, the church has alienated the Arab world against the gospel and encouraged the growth of international Arab terrorism. - KerouacCat, on 10/15/2007, -1/+3Johnny2k, I believe you are a follower of Christ, and that you are a patriot who loves America, but the GOP was hijacked a long time ago by the globalists and nothing is going to change that, save for tens of millions of Americans taking to the streets of Washington DC (and in every town and city) and physically removing the traitors among us. But that will never happen due to ignorance, apathy, complacency and prophetic foretellings. (Satan owns the governments of the world and his minions on earth conduct his bidding for him--until he one day arises to reveal himself and rule the earth. Read Ephesians 6:12) I suspect Eisenhower was warning us over 40 years ago that the "military-industrial complex" was threatening to seize the government, ignite endless wars and form policestates--and now they are in control of the USA. I'm for Ron Paul, as you are, but my understanding of history and the corruption inherent in all govts, makes me realize that the globalists will stop Ron Paul from getting the nomination. The masked media already lies about his true poll ratings and they virtually ignore him, and with Diebold/CIA voting machines in-place in a majority of US cities, they'll steal the election again.
- these3remain, on 10/15/2007, -1/+3Jews are in heaven. Read your Bible. All of God's chosen people who believed by faith in the coming Messiah are in Heaven. Read Hebrews - there is a list of Jewish people whose faith was accounted to them for righteousness, including Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David, etc.
- inactive, on 10/15/2007, -2/+4Anti-Semitism is the racist belief that Jews are genetically evil and subversive and should be persecuted. This is what Hitler believed.
Today, the term “anti-Semitism” has been broadly misdefined for use as a political weapon, to silence any criticism of Israel, Judaism, or liberal Jewish activism. Those who make the simplest statements of unflattering truth about Israeli or Jewish actions are smeared as anti-Semites.
Webster’s New 20th Century Dictionary fuels such confusion; it misdefines anti-Semitism as “prejudice against Jews; dislike or fear of Jews or Jewish things (emphasis mine).” This broad definition makes it anti-Semitic to dislike or fear such venerable “Jewish things” as the Talmud and Kabbalah. No one disliked these twisted teachings of the ancient Pharisees more than Jesus Christ. Webster would make Him one of the world’s worst anti-Semites!
This is far from the truth. The Bible teaches that it is loving, not persecutive, to reprove any sinner or group of sinners (2 Tim. 4:2). The Bible also forbids racial favoritism in the giving of such truth (James 2:1). The prophets, and Christ Himself, vehemently criticized the Jewish people and their leaders for sin.
Their concern was motivated by the love that St. Paul expressed for the Jews when he wrote, “My heart’s desire and my prayer for them is for their salvation.” (Rom. 10:1) All these loving truthtellers keenly anticipated the day when a remnant of Israel will repent and be restored to Christ at His second coming.
Yet, today, any leader who criticizes Israel or Jewish activists is in danger of being ruined by the charge of anti-Semitism. While Christian leaders and the secular media openly criticize Islam, they carefully protect the dark side of Judaic ethics and Zionist history from exposure. This enables the government of Israel to act without substantive moral oversight. Such favoritism also empowers liberal Jewish activists to pursue their anti-Christian agenda hidden from public view.
Concerned and careful thinkers should object to irresponsible charges of anti-Semitism and define this term correctly. Clarity is vitally important because the same Jewish leadership that Christ attacked is still in the world, deceiving a majority of both the Jewish people and Christian evangelicals.
Rabbi Daniel Lapin warned that “secular Judaism” is “in relentless attack on evangelical Christians.” Most assaults against Christian symbols and values come from Jewish activists or Jewish-led “civil liberties” groups like the Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith, the ACLU, People for the American Way, and the Southern Poverty Law Center.
ADL/B’nai B’rith has destroyed freedom of speech in more than a dozen countries through the “anti-hate” laws they designed. As a result of liberal Jewish activism, many unjustly blame “the Jews” in general for widespread anti-Christianity and attacks on freedom. Such resentment, especially in Europe, could result in anti-Semitic violence in the years ahead. Anti-Semitism is also fueled by Israeli policies which go uncriticized out of fear of the “anti-Semite” slur.
Considering Jewish activism's threat to Christianity, freedom, and Jewish welfare, how would Christ and the prophets respond to evil Jewish leaders and activists today? They would surely follow the Bible’s commands for godly and loving reproof of sin. Such reproof creates the possibility that Jews may spend eternity in heaven and be spared much grief in this life as well.
What could be a greater blessing?
I know digg it down, but it is the truth and well quite frankly people don't want to hear it much anymore. - watnext, on 10/15/2007, -1/+3Should I somehow get on your lawn I would leave an unmistakeable deposit, and it would not be money.
- inactive, on 10/15/2007, -2/+4The reason the Jews get offended at this is because of their teachings - the Talmud - the teaching of the Talmud - that Jesus is a bastard and Mary is a whore. In addition, that Jesus is boiling in excrement in hell! That is why - Look it up, google the Talmud - talk about a racist, filthy book! They hate Jesus that is why. Are all Jews that way, no, but a lot are. The Talmud is taught not the Torah. Horrowitz, is one of the Jewish that adhere to the Torah, not the Talmud - which goes back to Babylon times.
- these3remain, on 10/15/2007, -1/+3True Israel is the nation of Israel, not Christians or the church. God has not forsaken the Jews as His chosen people and never will. Nor has the Body of Christ or Christians been given the role of Israel; there is nothing Biblical about that concept. There is no such thing as a Christian nation - only Christian people. Our country is not a Christian nation anymore than South Korea is. And it is the gentiles who were grafted into the branch by Christ.Prior to Christ's death and resurrection, the Jews who believed by faith in Jehovah had their righteousness accounted to them which is why they , e.g., Abraham, Isaac, David etc. will be in heaven (see the hall of faith in Hebrews).
- inactive, on 10/17/2007, -0/+2Imagine if she got tripped up in thought or direction and made a "mistake" or got confused, off track.
No way would she be allowed to even grovel out of it through out eternity. - sbernie, on 10/15/2007, -1/+3Ann makes some of the same mistakes that the vast majority of "Christians" do. She sees the religion of "Christianity" as being the continuation of the Tanakh. Christianity is a separate religion from Biblical Judaism. The first followers of the Way, as it was originally called, were for the most part Jews who believed that Y'shua is Messiah. As more and more gentiles came to faith in Messiah Y'shua, they separated themselves from the commonwealth of Israel, the covenants of promise and formed this new religion "Christianity" which became the formal state religion of the Roman Empire, by Constantine at the Council of Nicea circa 325-327 ce.
Ann is right about the believers in Messiah being an extension of the Tanakh which points to Messiah, but it is firmly attached to the Hebrew root. It is when gentiles begin to understand this and return to the Torah of G-d and obey His teachings and instructions that Jew and Gentile will live in peace. - inactive, on 10/15/2007, -1/+3I doubt seriously, Syron, that at the tender age of 25 you actually own a lawn, but when/if ever you do, remember this:
"MOW it; don't SMOKE it!" - inactive, on 10/19/2007, -1/+3Are you saying that Christians reject the "LAWS OF GOD", or refuse to obey them ?
Christians believe Christ is the fulfillment of the LAW and the Prophets, "to fulfill" indicates an adherence to, a commitment to obtain.
Christianity requires a following of Christ's leadership and examples. - inactive, on 10/20/2007, -0/+2Christians should learn and come to "LOVE" following the festivals and many other observances of the Torah.
But the pope sort of ran the ship aground. - KerouacCat, on 10/15/2007, -3/+5Deustch was shookup because Jesus always causes alarm among the prideful and the haughty and the foolish. The eternal truths of Christ are too scary a topic for an intellectually-challenged scoffer like Deustch. And I wish that Coulter would become so close to Christ that she would finally realize that Jesus Christ has not and never will have a relationship with, nor does He endorse, any political party. Given the troubling agenda of the globalist-leaning GOP--and their operatives Bush, Cheney, Perle, Wolfowitz, Kissinger, etc--I would think that it was becoming more and more difficult for a true follower of Christ to remain loyal to that party anyway. Those men do not follow Christ so why would any discerning follower want to be associated with them or listen to their foolishness?
- these3remain, on 10/20/2007, -2/+3That is an interesting perspective regarding the church's alienation of the Arab world due to their support of Israel. However, that may still be part of a sovereign God's plan - it would be very interesting if the remnant Jews who will be evangelizing will ultimately be used to win their sworn enemies, i.e., the Arab/Muslim world, to Christ. It would be consistent with God's character and the miraculous ways in which He works.
- these3remain, on 10/20/2007, -3/+4AFTER Jesus, yes. But before, believe me , they are there. And there will be more Messianic Jews after Christ's return. They are the 144,000 who will come to faith in Christ and evangelize after the rapture of the church.
- inactive, on 10/19/2007, -1/+2Israel / the Jews ARE the "Chosen People" of the Most High !

Coulter is wrong. John 14:6 KJV "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
Without Christ, even "God's Chosen" are doomed to damnation. - sbernie, on 10/15/2007, -2/+2I would not want any Jew to "convert" to "christianity". That means to give up Torah and the festivals that G-d ordained. Read "8 Homilies against the Jew" by John Chrysostom and then tell me why any Jew would want to "convert" to "christianity". I would rather the Jew a follower of Torah to become a follower of the Jewish Messiah, not the gentile Jesus Christ.
