- appleann1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Do you actually have a clue as to what the hell you're talking about? No average little citizen is walking into court alone, you take the ACLU with you. The ACLU snakes, slither into every little town that dares to display a damn reindeer or manger or other symbols that OFFEND one nut.They file lawsuits knowing, no matter how weak the case, the towns don't have the money to defend themselves. If the towns fight back and lose it cost the taxpayers millions of dollars. incidently, the ACLU attorneys are volunteers, they kill two birds with one stone, rid the towns of something THEY, and a small minority find OFFENSIVE, and fill their coffers.
The party is over. We now have many groups fighting back, their days of intimidation are over! THEY ARE LOSING. This act does not prevent the ACLU from suing anyone, they just won't be getting rich doing it. And if they really believe in the cause, why would'nt they still defend you?
You see the problem is, it's OUR rights they have been trampling on for too long.
If you are not familiar with some of their assinine lawsuits (they are too numerous to memtion, but include having teachers told they cannot have a poinsetta plant in class, to no red and green colors (too much like Christmas). Not to mention actually saying Merry Christmas. And while you're at it check out the NY public schools. Nothing that remotely resembles Christmas, but they can have the Muslim star and cresent. Is this insane in our country!! So i not only encourage the PERA, i've signed petitions, sent e mails, called ALL reps. This will happen. No more will this domestic terrorist group strip our country of all our heritage, and get rich while doing it.It's called the tyranny of the minority.
