thinkprogress.org —Cunningham’s “hate radio” brethren, such as Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, joined him in indignation over McCain’s apology. Watch it:
Obama should once and for all say it like it is...
"My fellow Americans, there are some who like to refer to my middle name as though it's an ominous indication that I'm a foreigner, I'm un-American, or that there is some kinship between me and some enemies of our past. They use my full name almost as if it were a swear word. I welcome a dialogue and discussion on this issue. I am proud of my middle name, Hussein, given to me by my father, which is derived from the Arabic root 'ahsan,' meaning 'very good' or 'best.' It is a name I strive to live up to, as we all should. We should all strive for the best of ourselves..."
The ONLY good thing about McCain is that he is willing to turn his back on the religious nuts and the hate-filled bigots of the Republican party. However, since that is now the GOP's "base", McCain has a huge problem. Whatever happens in November, it's clear that the religious fanatics are being stripped of their stranglehold on our government, and that's a good thing.
If they end up voting for McCain, it will show everyone what total hypocrites they are, and that they are more loyal to a political party than to their own religious beliefs and their so-called moral values. They will never be taken seriously again and will fade into oblivion, as far as political power is concerned.
