Hastert Too Busy To Commemorate September 11 Until September 13

thinkprogress.org — Yesterday was the five-year anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, but House Speaker J. Dennis Hastert had other priorities. He wasn’t able to schedule a vote "on a resolution to commemorate the day" until September 13. Today, the house will consider "The Lake Mattamuskeet Lodge Preservation Act."

  • raz3000, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Big deal. I commend him for using his time in the Capitol for something besides an empty, meaningless "commemoration" resolution. I wouldn't hold it against him--it's better to spend the day with your family anyways.
