- john2kx, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9god yes.
- olddirtycr, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9go to reddit or slashdot
- MASH007, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Everyone needs to grow up. Welcome to America were good citizens obey the law. Digg does not have the resources to fight any kind of lawsuit, and doesn’t wish to break the law.
Everyone who is posting the key is just causing trouble, and should just leave Digg. If you are truly pissed over this issue, then prove it, leave Digg and don’t come back. Good riddance.
I also think the silent majority would agree with my statements. - Ravatar, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9nobody cares anymore.
there, i said it. - Pfhreak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5YES! WE'VE HAD ENOUGH ALREADY!
Stop it with the asinine posting of that stupid key! I don't care if Digg admins are stealing your imaginary girlfriends if you post that thing, it doesn't justify your childish spamming. - RobotJesus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I think this is a good thing. That'll teach Digg to build up a loyal community and then be forced to take down a digg article by law...
Lawl! - Tialys, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Yes.

It's on the internet, it's NOT GOING AWAY. Now get back to digging normal things please? - Portfolioso, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I think people are going over the top with this. I hate AACS, the RIAA and MPAA, and agree that everyone should be able to decrypt and crack the protection keys, but this is going overboard. There are like 400 stories with this same issue, especially after the official digg announcement.
Ever since Kevin made it big with digg and revision3, he turned into a "good boy." Before, he was a badass that did illegal things on the broken and talked about shady things. Now, thebroken is canceled to preserve Revision3's reputation and Kevin Rose probably has an official spokesperson posting for him.
I still respect the kind, but sheesh... - Pottersquash, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3in the end, Netscape just won people. Congratulations, you just killed the only thing that gave you control, this is proof you dont deserve it and you will be restricted and moderated like the children you are.
- iamanalog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3well this is getting old really fast.
- Pottersquash, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3the children are the problem, they think this is cute. May the Digg Gods return and restore order.
Will Loyal Diggers Please Rise!!! - PSUViking, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3You guys are pathetic really, instead of working to some kind of decent solution or making an argument you have resorted to spamming the ***** out of this site, all the while whining about how it is user oriented, without realizing the fact that you are corrupting the very idea that you are so quick to defend with ***** over-reaction, If this is the way the users respond to bumps in the road, maybe the idea of a user driven site is a bad one.
- altjeringa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I have to ask why this is being limited to Digg? Shouldn't it be everywhere? The real FU shouldn't be to the guys at digg. It should be to the DMCA the congressmen who passed it and the to the MPAA! Please start emailing your congressmen, covering their message boards, and spamming movie studios. Digg is small potatoes it's time to attack the reall culprets!
- ShinAkuma, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This sure blew up into quite a fine mess....
- digitalMessiah, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5There IS news besides this item. Don't act like a baby
- Ghiren, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Okay... Reading constant, out-of-context repetition of the code is getting a little old. I realize that people are trying to show how impotent the AACS-CA is both for coming up with a useless and hassling encryption scheme, and for trying to censor the spread of this code and I support that. Randomly shouting "09 F9 11 02 9D 74 E3 5B D8 41 56 C5 63 56 88 C0" everywhere doesn't accomplish anything though. If you really want this to be important, then put the code to some USE! Rip some HD-DVDs! Write the code into some software so that it's as easy to rip HD-DVD content as it is to rip CDs. Just quoting a pseudo-random decryption key for no reason will confuse the people who don't know what it's for and annoy the people that do.
- ctc803, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2wow not being on digg for a day really confused me what is all this about??
- legatus, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Nope, carry on.
- morgrar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2:-(
- edzz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Whats happening to Digg ?_?
- jdawg19, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Enough is enough, let's return digg to what it once was...
- Sithseth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Man, I sure hope there isn't any real news happening today... HEY LOOK, THERE IS! *sigh*
People, get over it. Digg by no means is the place where you should be taking you stand on censorship. If some one wants to make a rally site, and do a mass rally in streets around the world, then Ill participate it. But, until that happens, Im not going to respect a single digger who thinks this is worth the effort.
Your voices are empty, if you dont actually do anything to change what's happening on digg. If you want freedom of speech, go outside and start somthing. - Geek180, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4***** YOU

- diggduggjoe, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2No, I would like to see this go on for at least several more hours to get the point across.
Digg needs more transparency. Those who work in the background need to be more visible to all the digg users. This is the Boston Tea Party of Digg.com! - zacharychaos, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2... i think digg acquiesced. maybe we should slow down a bit
- actorboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1VIVA LA BLOCK BUTTON!!
- ragamufin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1you guys realize digg isnt censoring anything, theyre not pandering to corporate interests. They have a website, thats worth quite a bit of money. You are posting information that violates copyright laws on their site. They have a responsibility to remove it or face lawsuits that could bankrupt them and/or embroil them in stupid lawsuits for months or years. their options are A. side with you and suffer tremendous financial consequences or B. side with the DRM (and the United States government) and listen to you guys complain about censorship.
its not censorship, this is not a big issue, if you want to feel like you are part of some sort of social upheaval or grand realignment that will forever change the way we look at news in the online world, im sorry, this is not what you are looking for. - DigeratiPrime, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1where have all the comments gone? I refreshed the page and *poof*
- amunimanghi, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3I haven't. I NEED more. World War 09 F9 11 02 9D 74 E3 5B D8 41 56 C5 63 56 88 C0.

***** off, romanticize something as puerile as this to that extent? LOL@U.
Digging this comment is a digg for REAL NEWS. - spacechip, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Seriously.
I had such high hopes for digg as a grand democratic discussion tool. May 1st, 2007: The day every story on the front page was about the same topic! Sounds pretty epic doesn't it? The day all us diggers took our big stand.
Oh wait, all we're really talking about is some hex bits that 99% of us aren't actually going to do anything with.
I thought those DeCss shirts were pretty cool. Spreading code into the real world, Cleverly demonstrating that even though you may be able copyright a string of numbers, such a copyright is practically impossible to enforce. A lot of these digg stories today do that too, but what's the point of spreading the numbers amongst ourselves incessantly?
People are missing the point: Let the digg admins take the posts down. It's OK. Our free speech is not being infringed. The numbers will not disappear. Digg will not get sued and we can continue to enjoy using it. - Irco, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1permanent reminder

- asurroca, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1This is the coolest thing evAr on Digg

- doople, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2***** em. Copying movies is illegal. They can be copyrighted. Posting these numbers is not
You cannot copyright a number sequence just because it COULD give people the ability to commit a crime.
That's like copyrighting the ***** alphabet so people can't copy a book. *****.

***** you. - OrganicDrew, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0why don't people focus on the kind of censorship that matters??
like .. MIKE GRAVEL candidate for presidency
There is a kind of media censorship going on .. that is not giving certain candidates their fair shake in the publics eye.
These people have a REAL CHANCE at actually attaining public office but, early censorship is going to trash any chance they had .. because of the impression of "well if i vote for him, the democratic vote will be split and the republicans will win" that kind of 2 party vote scare is what they want you to have! because then you are presented with a FALSE CHOICE!
vote MIKE GRAVEL .. and sign his petition to STOP CENSORSHIP IN THE MEDIA, and in the DEBATES
EVERY CANDIDATE SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN EVERY DEBATE! - Spikito, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1hells yeah
- spidoman, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I know I haven't.

- Tiak, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1@aarongough
Doesn't it feel a bit odd for people to start to leave because all of the people making a big deal of nothing and threatening to revolt and leave?... The people covering the digg front page in these things, because they now hate digg due to the swing of the mob should probably leave, at least for the time being, because they do seem to hate digg, at least at the moment...
I'm reminded of the quintisential forum troll who repeatedly announces his dramatic exit, then returns shortly afterwards. - elijahsnw, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Jesus... did you ust see that update? All the stories are on this now.. for the first time this whole debacle is inciting a chuckle from me....
