- yellowcakewalk, on 05/09/2008, -1/+2Love other men or kill other men? That is the dillema for a gay soldier.
- Michael9636, on 08/04/2008, -1/+6So true. Somewhere in this country lies a dead soldier. I think his name was Seargent Matlock or something like that. His eulogy, carved on his grave site headstone, reads something like: "When I was in the military, they gave me a medal for killing a man - and a dishonorable discharge for loving one." Sometimes, I am so ashamed of my country. How can we be so backward and bigoted?
- idoj, on 05/10/2008, -0/+4I agree.
By the way, the man you mentioned is named Leonard Matlovich. You can read about him here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leonard_Matlovich There's a book out about his life and struggle called, "Matlovich: The Good Soldier" too.- Michael9636, on 08/04/2008, -0/+1Thank you. I was hoping someone would remember his name.
