Government in Scripture: Luke 22:24-26

Jesus calls for a radically different type of social structure--a kingdom where the members are the ones who give up their power to serve those around them.

This concept is how the Republican Party has tried to portray itself, but so often has failed to do what it has promised. As Ronald Reagan said, "The 9 scariest words in the english language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help."
America's founding fathers understood these concepts and set up a government that was supposed to be exceedingly small (less than 1% of the size it is today).
We as individuals are to help others; we are not to give our government the power to "help" others.
