NO... say it ain't so! - MommaLu, on 08/06/2008, -49/+280I'd like to see a libertarian news station.
- dayal911, on 08/07/2008, -51/+173Hate to break it to you guys, but on Bill O'Reilly's radio show, McClellan APOLOGIZED to O'Reilly for insinuating that O'Reilly received talking points..
I'm pretty sure this will get Dugg down. Oh well. - drlha, on 08/07/2008, -3/+118Welcome to kactuscrow's blog, in which he uses a lot of words and says nothing.
- tidu, on 08/07/2008, -12/+109Of course he's going to apologize to the person he was talking about, especially on his own show.
And he didn't insinuate at all. He clearly stated that they gave talking points to the pundits later at night. He didn't name O'Reilly specifically, but he's in that group.
Don't be selective in your evidence. - Jareth86, on 08/07/2008, -13/+80I agree. Its okay if its skewed, so long as you agree with the skew... wait
- wrathofg0d, on 08/07/2008, -5/+57what
- heartsblood, on 08/07/2008, -1/+49Professional Politicians. They can speak for 30 minutes and not say a damn thing.
- PinkoComrade, on 08/07/2008, -11/+58What's this? They are defaming the Pravda. At least the citizens knew it was owned and controlled by the government
- JigoroKano, on 08/07/2008, -3/+49McClellan apologized to O'Reilly for insinuating that O'Reilly specifically received talking points... because he didn't know who specifically did receive talking points. O'Reilly could be completely in the clear. According to McClellan though, FoxNews as a whole is not in the clear.
- inactive, on 08/07/2008, -17/+62i see somebody is running a bury bot. bury bot failure is fail.
- funkyloki, on 08/07/2008, -4/+39You should try this new grammar device. It's called a comma.
- merreborn, on 08/07/2008, -0/+35There is no such thing as unbiased reporting.
As such, it's better to have all viewpoints represented, rather than just the mainstream ones.
It's up to you, the viewer, to determine where the truth actually lies. - sevvo, on 08/07/2008, -3/+35The traditional expression of an ellipsis is four spaces broken up with three periods.
When referring to one's self as an authority by citing personal experience, it is all-too-often fallacious. Such practices should be avoided entirely.
Additionally, please spend some time researching the relationship between a topical statement and supporting remarks. Paragraph structure is the cornerstone of all writing.
Strunk & White's 'Elements of Style' will help demystify this process for you.
Good luck on your journey to literacy! - PWoT, on 08/07/2008, -17/+47Just to make it clear, this was the Fox News COMMENTATORS who were echoing talking points. Not the anchors, not the reporters.
Both sides do this, they send press releases to commentators they know are on their side to put the proper spin on a policy or event.
If you are getting your news from Bill O'Reilly (or Keith Olberman, etc) you're going to wind up grossly misinformed either way. - dondara, on 08/07/2008, -4/+32you don't know that
- inactive, on 08/07/2008, -2/+30They tried but the government wouldn't fund their initiative so they abandonned it.

- Splicernyc, on 08/07/2008, -14/+32Cue the wingnuts to declare that the rest of the media is..ahem..."liberal". The fact is that being socially liberal and being politically liberal are two different things. You'll find that many right wingers are very liberal in their interpretation of marriage vows.
- diggduggDOOM, on 08/07/2008, -5/+23Lies! Rainbows taste just like Skittles.
- UberNick, on 08/07/2008, -1/+19Looks like the bottom of a spam email that adds strings of random words at the end to bypass the filters

- Idietired, on 08/07/2008, -0/+16Real quick ... true story:
I used to sit in staff meetings at my newspaper with a file on my voice-recorder of a rimshot just in case anybody cracked a one-liner.
Thank you for showing me my favorite website ever. - avasol, on 08/07/2008, -10/+26Just so ***** tired of these Republican morons that would defend these nazis to their death even when it is THEIR rights that are being trampled upon, THEIR knowledge of the world that is being corrupted, THEIR money that goes straight to Republican sponsors, THEIR kids that will have to grow up in a world destroyed by oilseekers, and THEIR anus stretched to the limit.
WHAT THE ***** MOTIVATES YOU *****? - CrazedLeper, on 08/07/2008, -7/+22"1- Disgruntled employee from Bush camp
2- Fox News says employee is disgruntled too!"
So the white house says he's disgruntled and Faux K`news repeats it--is this a talking point? What has the white house *not* lied about? If the white house lied about something, would it also lie to cover up the first lie? Would it be "above" a third lie to cover the other two?
It seems clear who's the parrot and who's the master...and who's a government sheep. - RAGEdemon, on 08/07/2008, -1/+16dude... do you even know what you are saying?
- PeppermintPig, on 08/07/2008, -1/+15Probably not, seeing as it contains the word 'public' in its name. lol
- mrinsanity, on 08/07/2008, -12/+26Olbermann and Maddow are totally doin' it
- homercles337, on 08/07/2008, -10/+23Disgruntled? You stupid ***** he left on good terms. What makes you ***** tick? Defending trash like Faux News, Bush, Rove, Cheney, Wolfie, etc, etc? You guys deserve to be locked up for treason.
- sexypeon, on 08/07/2008, -4/+17I would rather see a news station that is actually "fair and balanced." Unfortunately most journalists don't care about presenting the news from a neutral viewpoint.
- inactive, on 08/07/2008, -3/+16O'Reilly doesn't seem to think it was much of an apology. Listen to the interview: McClellan is backing down one inch from his allegations.
Audio here: http://homepage.mac.com/mkoldys/blog/fgx239042719. ...
O'Reilly flips out and starts yelling at McClellan because he doesn't like what he's saying. Meanwhile O'Reilly himself can't even deny that white house liasons were feeding propaganda to Fox News. - dagnabbit, on 08/07/2008, -0/+11You know she's gay right?
- stretta, on 08/07/2008, -2/+13The issue isn't bias. The issue is passing off White House propaganda as news. FOX routinely presents White House talking points without disclosing the source. All they have to do is say "In a White House statement..."
- Hangly, on 08/07/2008, -2/+12It's ok if it's biased, so long as they are open about their bias.
- slstudios, on 08/07/2008, -1/+11MSNBC is libertarian? please do more research and post again when more educated.

- jerbaker, on 08/08/2008, -2/+11It would run commercials all day long.
- toolsdrummer, on 08/07/2008, -0/+9I could understand your points if you were complaining about NBC Nightly News, or any of the other actual news programs (laughable as they are). Olbermann is not a journalist. He doesn't claim to be. He's a talk show host/commentator. His show is similar to Bill O's in that he can pick what he wants to talk about and then share his point of view on the matter. There's a stark difference between a show like that and a news show (like your local news or any of the big 3's morning or evening news programs). I have a huge problem with the fact that the media companies are blurring that distinction between news and opinion.
- MacEnvy, on 08/07/2008, -1/+10MSNBC is NOT fed talking points by the DNC. If you'd like to claim otherwise you'd better show me some ***** proof.
Prove it or shut the ***** up with your defense of the indefensible. - analogkid01, on 08/07/2008, -1/+10For what? Exercising their first amendment rights? They don't *have* to tell the truth. It's in our best interest to be critical and/or tune them out completely, but they are breaking no laws. Just offering "spin" on behalf of those who *have* broken the law (Bush et. al.).
- MacEnvy, on 08/07/2008, -5/+14NPR
- GregFD3S, on 08/07/2008, -15/+24Not surprised.
- DrMic, on 08/07/2008, -3/+11could you give an example of ultra liberal news programs? We in the US generally have conservative, very conservative and neocons with a smattering of angry moderates. I sure as hell don't see any liberal programs.
- UberNick, on 08/07/2008, -0/+8Passes Tourettes Test.
- mattrussell1124, on 08/07/2008, -0/+8you can't be serious.
peppermint pig, thank you. - falstaff, on 08/07/2008, -4/+12"And he didn't insinuate at all"
"He didn't name O'Reilly specifically, but"
That's known as "insinuation." -
