- pdeco, on 10/12/2007, -4/+104I'm sure he has looked at a playboy, too.
God forbid someone admit they're human. - chris9902, on 10/12/2007, -4/+62Giuliani is an *****. The only reason he is still around is because of 9/11
there, I said it. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+62You're right, there is a big difference.
One shows integrity. - Dweller99, on 10/12/2007, -7/+55"Bush said he never did coke."
no he didn't:
Bush has admitted being an alcoholic but, asked during the 1999 election if he did drugs, he said: "I've told the American people that years ago I made some mistakes.
"I've learned from my mistakes and should I be fortunate enough to become president I will bring dignity and honour to the office."
Later an aide clarified his remarks saying Bush hadn't taken illegal drugs in the past 25 years.
Since he was accused of using coke in the 60s and early 70s and his own aide said it had been 25 years, well... do the math. - mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -11/+52Conclusion: Bush is a lying drunk cokehead in denial.
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -9/+50Coming from a politician, it's unheard of. Honesty is very important to me. Obama appears to be the uncorrupted government official we all dream about.

- chicbicyclist, on 10/12/2007, -9/+31They're(FoxNews) just preaching to the choir. Nobody cares about that show, and most that watch it already thinks Obama is a muslim most probably anyway. Obama probably has to worry more about being battered because of his "weird" name and the strange associations by Old Media Conglomerate TM.
- cantaclaro, on 10/12/2007, -5/+24This has much more to do with the fact that Murdoch and Hillary are really "tight". He's donated money to everyone of her Senatorial campaigns. In the coming months I predict a sudden change at the Fox News Channel in which Hillary Clinton will be stumped for at every opportunity. She's already been putting down Obama as a candidate, and now she is going to start using FNC with the help of Rupert Murdoch to continue to put down any opponent in her way. That woman is a vindictive bitch from hell and won't go down without a fight. That man is in it for the money and nothing else, don't be fools.
One day people will realize that politics like wrestling is all *****, but instead of it being decided by a coin toss before the match; its who ever makes the most promises to the most powerful people that comes out on top. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17*****. There go my presidential hopes. Not only have I done cocaine. I've sold it. I guess I'll settle for mayor.
- drizek, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19You're too stupid to decide.
In fact, you're too stupid to even realize that you are too stupid to decide for yourself.
The first step to your recovery is to admit that you are an idiot. Only then can you watch Fox News. - ChagrinRiddle, on 10/12/2007, -3/+20Fox News: "We Report. You Decide."
Me: "I've decided you're a democrat-hating, spinning, slanting, skewing and brainwashing source of misinformation. Do I get a medal or a cookie?"
Fox News: "But we have Hannity AND Colmes! We're fair and balanced! I swear!" - voyetra8, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17"A conversation between Bush and an old friend and author, Doug Wead, touched on the subject of use of illegal drugs. In the taped recordings of the conversation, Bush explained his refusal to answer questions about whether he had used marijuana at some time in his past. “I wouldn’t answer the marijuana questions,” Bush says. “You know why? Because I don’t want some little kid doing what I tried.” When Wead reminded Bush that he had publicly denied using cocaine, Bush replied, "I haven't denied anything.""
- Thumper13, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17I'm a Republican and damn do I love Obama. He has the "it" factor that we haven't seen in a very long time. I think it's nice that a politician isn't running from this topic. I appreciate his honesty. I don't feel like he is talking down to me by stating he didn't inhale.
When he was on Leno a while ago, Leno asked him if he inhaled. Barack said "Yeah, that was sort of the point." Classic (as far as a politician goes.)
I hope all Republicans give this guy a chance. - freff, on 10/12/2007, -4/+19@spidoman
If by sacrificing, you mean his core principles to Jerry Falwell and the Evangelical right, then yes, McCain's sacrificed plenty.
McCain used to be an interesting, independently minded Republican. Now he's essentially a political puppet, and it's clear that he's fundamentally compromised himself to get one last shot at the Presidency. He's long since derailed his own Straight Talk Express, so no thanks on McCain. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15We distort. You comply.
- sathias, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15Yeah there is a big difference. Someone that used coke once or twice but never had a problem would have less trouble admitting it than someone that was a raging coke fiend. Coke makes you notoriously paranoid.
- endlessoul, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15I normally wouldn't do this, but...
***** FOX NEWS.
Digg me down if you must. - renpatel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Forgive me if I'm mistaken or just plain naive but isn't a news medium supposed to deliver information. Not analysis or evaluation. Isn't that for us to decide?
- Pacotheparrot, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13Curse those black-hearted fiends at Fox. How can they trash a man like Obama? I'm reading his new book, The Audacity of Hope, and it's a breathe of fresh air to politics in general. Obama's the man and I think this country needs him so here's to hoping he'll run and win!
- wm2010russ, on 10/12/2007, -14/+24there is no such thing as an uncorrupted government official, and there never will be.

In any case, the Republican party is the party that's filled with all the self-loathing gays. Foley? Haggard? Jeff Gannon?
Why shouldn't their hypocrisy be pointed out? Do you not understand what hypocrisy is? - voteforblank, on 10/12/2007, -7/+16What a bunch of Clowns of FOX!
I wonder what they have hidden in their closet of secrets on Fox. Gay sex, smoking pot, mafia connections???
That straight laced clown on fox looks like he may be homosexual (not like theres anything wrong with it)!!!! - dukeeeey, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Fox News 'fair and balanced'
(lol) - Hazardc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9They will smear his public image worse than they did to howard dean. Dean had it all in the bag and the media managed to ruin his whole campaign with a stupid amplification of a "scream"
god forbid someone actually be excited and motivated about doing what they think is right - myxyplik, on 10/12/2007, -6/+13Giuliani ran NYC like a facist tyrant, and McCain cowtowed to Bush on the 2006 Military Commissions Act. I don't want either of these losers running the country.
- drizek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7They dont read books to look at his politics. They read his books to find ***** to use against him.
- Zadkiel, on 10/12/2007, -10/+17What the is Obama's policies on political issues?
What's his plan to steer the country in the right direction?
Why is everyone fixated on how charismatic he is or his memoirs? - freff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7@brindon: "Who the ***** is this man other than another pretty puppet?"
There is no bigger puppet than George W. Bush. Not even close.
Go on with the "Osama" stuff. It's just makes it that much clearer how bigoted some of you guys are, and further isolates conservatives as the Party of xenophobes and racists. That might play in a couple places in this country, but by and large, this country is repulsed by those kinds of tactics. - Hazardc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7No it wasn't
I think most of the democratic party realized how bad they ***** up by ditching dean after the race wtih bush v kerry got towards the end. he has charisma, is a decent orator, and is one of the best people in the party at debate and making political points... he dean/edwards would have easily won the election IMO
Now we have basically Hillary and Obama.. hillary is a little ***** crazy IMO... although i can think of worse people.. she's wayyyy polarizing, although that doesnt seem to matter when being elected president around these parts.
Obama has the whole package, however he may be too young, his name sounds like a TURRIST, and his skin.... sorry too much pigment for the good ole boys, i would campaign for him in a heartbeat however.
Id even like to see a dean/obama ticket, or something with edwards again.. i dont think hillary is a good thing though at this point - dasluvaluva, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10You can't give this guy a free pass because he's a democrat. Everybody railed against Bush for cocaine use, and Clinton for marijuana use.
I haven't heard a digger ever say "Bush is human; everybody makes mistakes!" - Fhionnlaoch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Having spin-doctors on giving their opinions is not news. Perhaps Fox News should change it's name to "Fox: Talk TV," or perhaps "Fox: the Braindead Rhetoric Channel." I also see this happening on CNN, where some "anchors" give about as much of their opinion and suggestion as they do the facts (I'm glad I still have BBC World).
- Popdmb, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Wow...I'm voting for Obama, but you dont know *****.
The city was a wreck before Giuliani took it over. His iron-fist policy was necessary to clean up 42nd street and get the mob out of the paper and trash industries.
If you're not from NYC, please refrain from commenting on the issue. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6"Not only have I done cocaine. I've sold it. I guess I'll settle for mayor."
You could certainly be mayor of Washington, D.C., provided there are some strippers and hookers mixed in there somewhere. You're cool with that, right? - mdfrake, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6They are a business, so a petition won't help, but damn someone should sue their asses for false advertising. "Fair and balanced." What a crock of steaming *****. What was not fair and balanced here?
1. Berated the host when she suggested that Bush admitted using cocaine.
2. Suggested Obama was trying to hide the book (only 20,000 copies but someone at The Washington Post "dug one up"), when in fact he was the responsible party for the reprint, with no changes other than the prologue I might add.
3. Started attacking him, calling him an addict, then saying (sarcastically) he was boasting about not doing heroine.
4. Gave their conservative audience talking points to tell their Democrat friends to start attacking Obama themselves ("Hillary is going to have fun with this!").
5. Never doing any ***** research on their own. They are just talking heads, puppets put out to shove talking points about *****. If they would have done the research, read the book, something, this would have been a completely different show.
The simple fact is that they are placating to their audience, mostly the conservative elderly by the way, and bashing someone they are truly afraid of because he is a charismatic thinker. Why do you think they keep pushing Hillary up, because they (Republicans) are not afraid of her. That's why they are trying this early smear against Obama (along with the Hussein middle name they brought up in an earlier show). - demonicume, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7not to bring up old *****, but didnt G-Dubya admit to doing coke on tape a year or two ago? i thought i heard that.
- freff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5http://obama.senate.gov/issues/
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Did you guys see one of Fox News top stories today? It was a report about a religious leader who says god told him that the new year will bring millions of American deaths from terrorists attacks.
- LilRabbitFooFoo, on 08/11/2008, -0/+5Well, the surf on Venice Beach was pretty good the other day, but I think Robertson's "connection" was exaggerating mightily if he wanted to call 3-4 and glassy a "tsunami". ;)
- Joe091, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6@FoxifiedNutjob:
While you may have a point, you come off like a 14 year old whack-job the way you write. May I suggest adding a bit of subtlety to your prose? - EatingPie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Bush was THRASHED by Democrats for substance abuse. It was a huge issue during his first campaign for President.
So, it's certainly hypocritical for Republicans to get all hot and heavy on Obama. But isn't it equally hypocritical for Democrats to think Obama should get a by when they attacked Bush on the same issue?
Politics. Sheesh.
-Pie - dkm201, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5dang he wrote 'demoncrats'. there is no comeback for that one. we are all doomed
- ordep, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5The difference is hypocrisy. There is nothing wrong with being gay, but there is something wrong with railing against gay people and then it turns out you are gay.
- freff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5What's interesting about this story isn't the drug story, but how honest he's been about his entire life. Barack wrote this book as openly as he did because he wanted to show people who might grow up in a similar set of circumstances to him that they can better themselves, and aspire to much better things in life.
Obama has basically make himself a real, live roll model for people that might think that just because they grow up a certain way or in a particular set of circumstances, that doesn't mean that they can't aspire to do much better things with their lives. Obama seems to have chosen to walk the right path in life despite the things that could have derailed him. He has real legitimacy, and he didn't have to pander to the evangelicals to get it. I really like that part of him. - freff, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5@CzechRebel
It's cool. The current Republican in office is already admitting how he's sodomizing the entire country, and has no intention of stopping. - elamr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4
