- juankovo, on 07/03/2008, -2/+30It's all quite sickening. A terrible scam, decades in the making, has been pulled on America and Americans, and now we're all going to have to live through the consequences.
- NorthMass, on 07/03/2008, -2/+24If this upcoming economic disaster finally gets mainstream news people to listen to Ron Paul, then this is probably the best thing that can happen. Maybe this actually will bring people together and unite people of all religions, races, sexual orientations and bring us to a new level of peace never achieved before. Instead of people taking such pointless stands against thing like gay marriage, maybe people will start taking stands for important things like sane politicians and balanced budgets.

"The only presidential candidate that called for a return to constitutional government was Congressman Ron Paul and he was discredited by the media and his opponents. Remarkably, his message struck a chord in the hearts of thousands of young people nationwide. Nearly 30% of the delegates at the recent Republican State Convention were Paul supporters, most in their 20s." - en3r0, on 07/03/2008, -2/+15But will we leave our comfortable computer chairs to make a difference?
- melshae, on 07/03/2008, -2/+12you can't eat gold. just stock up on necessities. don't forget tampons and toilet paper.
- InvisibleInk, on 07/03/2008, -2/+11We should abolish the Federal Reserve and their periodic and idiotic inflation of the currency supply, which is what results in higher prices across the board. They simply create money out of thin air to bail out corporations run amok with unsound investments and awash in so much debt they can't even maintain any cash in the bank for their unsuspecting depositors to withdraw. Inflation itself isn't higher prices; higher prices are a result of inflation. Inflation is an infusion of printed money, created by the Treasury at the command of the Federal Reserve Board.
They create artificial booms with their low-interst rates, tempting financial institutions to make specualtive, highly suspect investments, then try to curb their own inflation-creation stupidity by raising short term interest rates, creating busts of the very unsound booms they previously created!
What cost $100 in 1913 now costs $2100.00 today. It's outrageous what their inflation of the currency has resulted in. One day soon what happened to Japan (0% interest, 0% growth) in the nineties will happen here, gauranteed unless the federal reserve system isn't abolished.
They tell us inflation is low, but they purposely leave out energy and food from their "core inflation" calculus. They are corrupt and useless, even worse that useless, they're outrigt swindlers of the American people. - quesi, on 07/04/2008, -0/+8that's it! back to a Republic, STAT!
- inactive, on 07/03/2008, -0/+7Can we do more out of our computer chairs than in them?
What do you intend to do. The best thing to do is to convince other people to look at reality and demand responsible government and at this point that means libertarian or Libertarian.
We need to be effective, and we need to hope that the message can become viral. - dilibau, on 07/03/2008, -1/+7I sincerely doubt it... Had you any power to do ANYTHING until now, I assume you'd have done it already, but unfortunately the situation is as it is... no matter how hard the bushtards grab the Americans by the balls, Americans can still find some sort of mind-boggling pleasure in this situation and keep on not doing a damn thing about the impeachment. I've said it more than once on this site and I got dugg down: if your Constitution allows you to bear arms to overthrow an oppressive regime, why don't you ***** start using them? I bet that even if Bush attacks Iran (which he's going to do btw, just as I've anticipated a while ago in another post) Americans will still do nothing, because they're either too stupid to perceive the true nature of the crisis/corruption or are too scared. Either way, your country has just FAILED.
- kemp34, on 07/04/2008, -1/+7Onetimer you're comfortable with Digg not allowing a post with 1100+ diggs to reach the front page?
- brad3378, on 07/04/2008, -0/+5........but without the Federal Reserve to print money, how will our national debt keep growing? That would force our federal government to pay as we go with balanced budgets. Is a balanced budget even possible for these incompetent fools in Washington D.C.?

We need to get dollars circulating quickly.
Imported products don't circulate dollars as quickly while hurting our trade deficit. - Parapadrifter, on 07/04/2008, -0/+2how about a pamphlet? find it here! spread it!

Surviving by eating tampons is not only sustainable, it's genius. Too many people neglect their minerals when prepping their survival foods.
One huge benefit: Nobody tries to steal your food. Take that, SPAM! - inactive, on 07/03/2008, -18/+3Blah blah blah More fear-mongering by Dr. Paul (the "dr." does NOT refer to any kind of degree in economics, by the way), the same man who has been claiming that we are going to plummet into some kind of economic disaster on and off for the last 20+ years or so.
And of course, this was already submitted, and buried before.
but... BURIED. - reed311, on 07/03/2008, -18/+3Buried as inaccurate, duplicate, lame, spam, fear mongering, and propaganda.
