I can understand why Democrats would want to do this. Union thuggery has been their bread and butter since the 40s. But WHY Republicans would go for this is beyond me.
I should like to see the actual roll call for the vote. My guess is the Republicans had another case of severe moderate syndrome. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9Valeyard, I would be interested in seeing that roll call too. Do you have any idea how to get ahold of it?

Call it speculation because it can't be proven: Some(and I will emphasize that word) politicians may put relatives and political favors in these positions. Background checks have been going on for years, but I've seen felons get security clearence in an airport. I say some politicians, but let's not forget the airlines and others may also be guilty. Then again one should understand other security measures that are in place that work. If you know who the problem is, you may increase surveillance around said person.
