- SheilaNoya, on 11/20/2007, -26/+378What do they mean "becoming" a laughingstock? It's already been a laughingstock for many years now. Most of the Fox News "anchors" don't even have press passes because they are NOT news journalists - Like Rush Limbaugh, they are only "entertainers" for the gullible crowd of idiots who think all you have to do is wave a flag and say "Jesus" and that makes you a good patriot.
- northernmunky, on 11/20/2007, -13/+179My media university in the UK showed clips of Fox news not only for comedic value but as examples of how the news should NOT be done and how bad things have become in the US these days...
- ApokalypseNow, on 11/20/2007, -10/+103Just because a channel has a high viewership does not mean that it is any good, or indeed, "fair and balanced".
All your numbers really means is that FOX can appeal to the lowest common denominator. - SanDiego92103, on 11/20/2007, -18/+96Fox "news" is a joke. Driven by ideological zealots.
- syroncoda, on 11/20/2007, -12/+78they were becoming a laughingstock about 5 years ago an nobody listened.
- ApokalypseNow, on 11/20/2007, -21/+86Title is misleading - should read "FOX News - international laughingstock"
Reading headlines with a right-wing slant does not make you "fair and balanced", it just makes you look retarded. - twisterrust, on 11/20/2007, -9/+73Are you a real person? I dont think anyone with any sense, would write something like this...
- MisteryMeat, on 11/20/2007, -8/+62There isn't a war on terror, you can't have a war on an idea. When exactly would this war come to an end? Is terror going to surrender?

Despite their utterly embarrassing scores, these hateful, delusional fanatics continue submitting comments. - sieteRevueltas, on 11/20/2007, -4/+53Here's a little background for the ignorant leftykiller on "The irrelevant rag" - Founded in 1821 - It has been awarded the National Newspaper of the Year in 1999 and 2006 by the British Press Awards, as well as being co-winner of the World's Best-designed Newspaper as awarded by the Society for News Design (2006). The Guardian Unlimited website won the Best Newspaper category two years running in the 2005 and 2006 Webby Awards, beating (in 2005) the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal and Variety. It has been the winner for six years in a row of the British Press Awards for Best Electronic Daily Newspaper. The site won an Eppy award from the US-based magazine Editor & Publisher in 2000 for the best-designed newspaper online service.
In 2007 it was ranked first in a study on transparency which analysed 25 mainstream English-language media vehicles, and which was conducted by the prestigious International Center for Media and the Public Agenda of the University of Maryland. It got a nearly perfect score. - gudnbluts, on 11/20/2007, -8/+52Interesting how many of the people supporting Fox News in this thread have had to stoop to insulting Brits and Muslims in general.
- fuzzmeister, on 11/20/2007, -4/+44If you've noticed, anti-Fox stories usually get thousands of diggs.
- ryanisnotsuper, on 11/20/2007, -3/+42"To the rest of the world" does not mean "to redneck Americans".
- Zarokima, on 11/20/2007, -4/+43It's the superlative of "stupid," *****.
- bignerd, on 11/20/2007, -1/+39You do realize that Milli Vanilli and N'Sync used to "kill em all" in music sales, right?
- rauz, on 11/20/2007, -11/+48They've been laughed at here in Europe for a long time. As an example, go to any big unbiased general forum and there will be hundreds of threads discussing it...
- inf0, on 11/20/2007, -2/+38"'Stupidest' is not a word, *****."
That might be the absolute stupidest thing I've read on Digg all year.
Congratulations!
By the way, ***** isn't a word! - jkblevins, on 11/20/2007, -20/+55fair and balanced my ass,fox and bush suck
- GeorgeFord, on 11/20/2007, -11/+46Facts? We dunt need no stinkin' facts. /LLL™
- amoirae, on 11/20/2007, -4/+39StepCousin criticizes others while attempting sarcasm in an attempt so inept you'd think he was personally coached by Bush himself.
- desqjockey, on 11/20/2007, -2/+36You obviously have no idea that the guardian is a really respectable British paper. Good one "lefty killer", I guess if you dont know how stupid you sound then you cant lose, huh?
- terminal157, on 11/20/2007, -1/+33What does the attractiveness of UK women have to do with anything being discussed here? You are not an adult. I don't care if you're 45, you are not an adult.
- pintomp3, on 11/20/2007, -10/+42laughing stock? propaganda is serious business.
- pintomp3, on 11/20/2007, -4/+36mcdonald's sells the most burgers, does that make their burgers the best? cable news is the fast food of information.
- betterth, on 11/20/2007, -8/+39Ratings are based on entertainment value. Great, Fox news entertains better, not informs better. Wonderful, just what we need. More *****.
You should see the ratings that measure awareness of current events of Fox news viewers. They are consistently found to be most illinformed of any Americans, including those who watch no news at all. - amoirae, on 11/20/2007, -6/+37Made with substandard parts that are past warrenty.
Inspector Gadget looks like RoboCop next to you. - UnstableMind, on 11/20/2007, -6/+36Did you get your statistics from Fox News as well?
- northernmunky, on 11/20/2007, -1/+31The BBC, by law has to portray the news in an unbiased manner. They are not allowed to have an opinion and must allow the viewer to judge for themselves.
I'm out of the UK right now and all I have for TV news is CNN... better than Fox certainly but still highly opinionated and presents things in a way Beeb execs would be sent down for in the UK. - fuzzmeister, on 11/20/2007, -2/+30I don't support socialism or fascism, but the Nazi party had absolutely nothing to do with socialism other than its name.

Note the suffixes "er" and "est" that can be affixed. - Halli, on 11/20/2007, -2/+28Muslims are under 3% of the total population in the UK. How you people think they will take over is beyond me. Just how ***** stupid are you?
- FluffyWolf, on 11/20/2007, -4/+28Newsflash: Fox News is not America, bashing Fox News is not bashing America (or being unpatriotic). Don't believe what the telly tells you.
- coyoteblue, on 11/20/2007, -0/+24well at least the women aren't like ours: 600 lbs and looking for fresh meat
- pintomp3, on 11/20/2007, -4/+27you have been replying to every thread in defense of fox news. do you work for them or is your head that firmly planted in the sand?
- Ajajadude, on 11/20/2007, -1/+24Something tells me MTV has more viewers than CNN...that really doesn't say much.
- Fooby, on 11/20/2007, -11/+34"becoming"?
- adooga, on 11/20/2007, -0/+22Yep, the BBC are better. Not perfect, but WAY, WAY better.
- cattleprod, on 11/20/2007, -13/+35Notice how they throw out "some people say" to attack guests. Unsourced rhetorical BS.
- DangerCollie, on 11/20/2007, -1/+22Fox News is a tabloid on the order of The Star or National Inquirer, instead of alien space babies they have a political slant.
Fox News is a serious news outlet the same way Jenna Jamison is a serious actress. - Look4Truth, on 11/20/2007, -6/+27Not only that but most of MSM is worthless and unreliable.
- Halli, on 11/20/2007, -1/+21Actually it was the Weimar government that enacted gun control because of the fighting between groups like the Nazis and Commies. Hitler actually liberalized gun laws. Quite frankly you're lying through your teeth.
- rarson, on 11/20/2007, -6/+26"It's a war on Radical Islamists. Or more precisely, their war on us."
...for ***** up their countries for decades and sticking our nose in ***** that it didn't belong in.
***** YEAH, LET'S SEND SOME MORE TROOPS OVER!
Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it. - rarson, on 11/20/2007, -2/+22Um, no we don't.
- FluffyWolf, on 11/20/2007, -10/+30Fox News has the same status abroad as Pravda had in the Soviet days, sometimes correct, but always with a propaganda touch. But I thought Americans already knew that?
- buckrogers1965, on 11/20/2007, -1/+20I am a nonreligious conservative republican. A paleo-conservative, if you will. Small government, fiscal responsibility, constitution loving, no standing army except in the time of declared war kinda guy. You know, an actual real conservative. So I have had zero representation in Washington the past 6 years. I am only supporting the democrats because everything has shifted so far to the right that mainstream democrats are more conservative than republicans are at this time.
I can't stand to watch nearly any news network because of all of the right wing bias I see in every one of them. The only fair and balanced news I see are coming out of news channels like democracy now and PBS, because they actually take the time to interview people on both sides of every issue and present both sides of the issues without snidely sneering at people and/or screaming at them to shut up.
Every time I watch anything with a neo-conservative on it I just want to punch them right in their smirking little know it all faces. So fox news and CNN is right out.
If either one of those news channels could spin for the right any harder they would take off the ground like a helicopter. - coyoteblue, on 11/20/2007, -2/+21i see your name is stepcousin
is this by any chance how your wife is related to you? - MyNamesTaken, on 11/20/2007, -1/+20What the hell did he say that had anything to do with UK vs USA? Your like a little child. Your comments I have read today are a great indicator of the type of viewer FOX gets. Nobody is attacking USA saying UK is better FFS.
- Ajajadude, on 11/20/2007, -4/+23Being the number one "news" channel and celebrating that is like cheering on the disease that kills the most people: nobody wins.
- justintsmith, on 11/20/2007, -2/+21This is buried in the comments, but I just want to get this off my chest. Something very simple, but I think it is so important that it lies at cracking foundation of America. It rings in my head every time I think "what happened to that country" and question why things are so horrible and who's 'at fault'.
It's about Left vs Right, Hilary vs Obama, CNN vs FOX, Olbermann vs O'Reily, Pro-war hawks vs Troop-bashing cowards, creationists vs athiests and any other opposition you can name.
One principle of representative democracy maintains that the majority rules and has a formal opposition. This is natural and necessary. I can oppose my best friends's actions, thoughts or words, and maybe even argue till Im convinced he's right and I'm wrong. In either case though, I'll always respect him. I'll always respect my friendship and always respect myself enough to talk to him about the issues I disagree with.
There is division, no chasm we cannot cross with words, but for a reason I don't know and can't name, things have become black and white, left and right, hot and cold. The middle ground, is lost, and the propetic words of a leader of a crumbling empire still ring true hundreds of years later.
United we stand.... Divided we fall... And America... we're falling hard. -
