- Mworthin, on 07/10/2008, -1/+31 The Dems roll over, yet again!
The Founders are rolling over in their graves as the unconstitutional FISA bill passes.
The Dems could have stopped this, but chose not to do so.
Giving even more power to a manipulative power hungry psychopathic liar, who has politicized every government function, agency and department he could get his hands on...what were they thinking?
Vote the bums out...maybe someone else will tend to our interests.
GRRRRRRRRRRRR. - eastwood24, on 07/09/2008, -3/+31Another incremental step taken by our Nation's elected leaders to strip away our rights garunteed in the Constitution. The water in the pot has just heated up a bit more, yet most frogs in our country continue to do nothing. They just sit there slowly and unkowingly waiting to be boiled to death.
- dreepa, on 07/09/2008, -14/+38Obama = GOP.
Vote Bob Barr in 2008. - SwordOfShannara, on 07/09/2008, -6/+28You can take action against this here: http://www.accountabilitynowpac.com . AccountabilityNowPAC (a.k.a. Strangebedfellows) is a right-left coalition that aims to hold these politicians accountable by removing them from office.
- inactive, on 07/10/2008, -0/+21You see Obama passin FISA?
I wanna... wanna cut his nuts off - wishninja, on 07/10/2008, -1/+21Millions of Americans that "were proud of their countries for the first time in their adult lives" just changed their minds. It does effect us and how we look at america.
- davidg11, on 07/10/2008, -3/+23I can't believe how many losers fell in love with Obama's speeches. Notice they're quiet today once they realize what his voting record is becoming.
Obama isn't moving center. Obama is starting to move to the right. - rilian, on 07/10/2008, -0/+19I'm a conservative and I'm against this bill. I'm also completely stunned that a Democratic congress who won their majority campaigning against issues like this would roll over so easily and pass this. What could possibly compel congress to pass this?
- thedsack, on 07/10/2008, -1/+17I am starting to feel like America is doomed... We can ALL see that this is bad... yet, somehow it passed? WTF!?!
- inactive, on 07/09/2008, -7/+22God help us all...
We are in a lot of trouble folks.
Our 3 braches of government are corrupt or compromised and they are doing more evil than the Nazi's ever did. - mfc5200, on 07/10/2008, -3/+18Everyone should either vote libertarian/green party/etc depending on where your political views are. The Democrats and Republicans (with a few exceptions such as Ron Paul Republicans) are essentially now one in the same, we shouldn't vote into this two party fiasco anymore, it's a joke.
- bshock, on 07/10/2008, -0/+14That's okay. America's Constitutional Period is over now. Time to find another place to live.
- Clugenheim, on 07/10/2008, -6/+18Democrats once again prove they are no better than Republicans.
Bob Barr '08 - PReitz, on 07/10/2008, -0/+12Nope, I have no intentions of being quiet. I admit I was a huge supporter of Obama. And I admit that I was wrong. But as far as being quiet, not a chance. I want to make it clear to Obama that he has lost a huge portion of his supporters, even his fan boys, and that his "free road to the white house" has just been closed.
- j0hnglist, on 07/09/2008, -3/+15even Clinton voted Naye. Genius plan to stir up voters possibly in 2012 and show they were wrong in voting Obama. Although we know if she was in his position she would have definitely voted aye. Sigh.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/peter-daou/hillarys- ... - GrodyChamp, on 07/10/2008, -0/+9Thanks Obama you piece of ***** liar! Goes to show he has no character.
- ExOrienteLux, on 07/10/2008, -1/+10Hillary voted no?
Never ever thought I'd say this but: GOOD FOR HER! - TheVigilante, on 07/10/2008, -1/+9Neither Ron Paul nor MIke Gravel would have let this happen.
I'm with Jesse Johnson for President. - Waiting2awake, on 07/10/2008, -1/+9Message would be better without the caps. Ohh and any mention of your soul. I tend to agree with your message , but sadly I think the moderate people will just close down when they see the caps lock.
- malex, on 07/10/2008, -2/+9I'm so glad you're willing to look past all the nonsense about the American Constitution and the rule of law and concentrate on what really matters; whether you like a blog site or not. You're a true American, jerrycurley.
- ShaoKahn, on 07/10/2008, -1/+7http://img360.imageshack.us/img360/7016/gallmcobam ...
It's a game. - Waiting2awake, on 07/10/2008, -2/+8America is in a fight - just not with anyone in Iraq. I just don't understand why there is not blood in the streets there. 4000+ of your very best have been sacrificed for corporate interests.
- meatwad86, on 07/10/2008, -1/+71984
- sillymeganlee, on 07/10/2008, -0/+6What an unappealing orgy.
- Waiting2awake, on 07/10/2008, -1/+7Please I understand your anger, but don't let it blind you to the illusion of the Republican/Democrat duality. There is only one party. You are living in a dictatorship, with rotating dictators.
The only people that will stop this are Americans. So start to do something with your neighbours. Start putting the fear back into your Government - let them know that you are a free man. - powatom, on 07/10/2008, -1/+7Dear America,
We're sorry your government is such a bunch of dicks.
If you ever want to come and hang out, knock back a few beers, talk about old times, we're here.
Ireland is really nice this time of year, and hey - it's a republic too! It'll be just like home. It's Liverpool's European Capital of Culture year as well so there's plenty going on, and you could always go and relax on the banks of the River Seine in Paris during the summer. You name it - we'll do it together. Maybe a sight-seeing trip around Europe before a night out in a weird club in Japan? Dinner in Italy? Anything, just give us a call.
If it doesn't work out with McCain or Obama - don't let it get you down. You'll have another chance in four years! Well, unless they re-write that rule as well, but I guess you'll find out sooner or later.
Anyway - if you just want to talk, you know where to find us.
Take care!
The Rest of The World (Excluding Robert Mugabe - that guy's a real prick)
xxx - loganro, on 07/10/2008, -5/+11***** all of you Obama lovers. You voted in him because he is 'intelligent' 'diffferent' and other ***** that just isn't true. He is not going to change this country, he will just make it worse. He lies more than any politician there is and a disgrace to this nation. One day at a time, his true evil self will come out. ***** you Obama, and ***** you Obama supporters. Thanks for making this country worse.
- Blitzenn, on 07/10/2008, -0/+6Too bad suing the government in this fashion was also outlawwed years ago.
- wishninja, on 07/10/2008, -1/+7damn eastwood good analogy.
- rrc7cz, on 07/10/2008, -1/+7Trevor, here's the problem I have with your PAC: 90% of the text on the website basically says DONATE NOW! Moneybomb! etc. The 10% that explains exactly what you'll do with our money is quite vague. We have sentences like this:
"The goal of AccountabilityNowPAC is to become a permanent entity on the Washington DC political landscape which will let our politicians know that civil liberties MATTER."
That's great, but... how are you spending my $25? What concrete steps will you take to let them know civil liberties matter? I haven't seen a single plan laid out. I'm basically sending money towards a fuzzy promise of making politicians care about liberties. - inactive, on 07/10/2008, -0/+5Take a few moments to Google Bush's Presidential directives and read up, paying particular attention to Summer 07.. Then read up on the Patriot Act and add in FISA.
Where are the rights that let us have our day in court if these things are acted upon? - cgbspender, on 07/10/2008, -0/+5You must live in a different Europe than I then.
- Etchii, on 07/10/2008, -4/+9Start buying guns now, while you still can.
Stockpile food, ammo, everything you need.
Get to know your neighbors, your community.
You just might need each other one day.... - mrhoffa, on 07/10/2008, -2/+7As expected, realize we are in a Police State. Really ***** sad.
- wishninja, on 07/10/2008, -2/+6Damn dude you really know how to get me stirred. ***** Obama and the other democrates were waiting all the time for the primaries to end just so they could shove FISA down our throats. Its just so ***** petty so self centered to burn the constitution just for a ***** job you can only hold for four years. That is seriously just the crappiest thing I can think of.
- Midtowner, on 07/10/2008, -1/+5The reason Europe doesn't need to pass a FISA sort of bill is because most of you don't have the sort of protections Americans have built into your respective governments in the first place.
For example:
From PCPro.co.uk: "The European Commission has accepted proposals to log details of all telephone, email and Internet traffic in an attempt to combat terrorism and serious crime.
The proposals, which are designed to harmonise data retention practices across the EU, will need the backing of all 25 member states. However some states believe they have been watered down in response to pressure from telecommunications firms and civil rights groups.
Under the EC proposals telecoms operators will be required to store data for one year and ISPs to retain it for six months. In the wake of the Madrid bombings, the EU's Council of Ministers had originally called for a three year retention period...Home Secretary Charles Clarke stressed the importance of a common approach. 'Getting some kind of uniformity across Europe is important because this is such an important technique in how we solve serious crimes and in dealing with counter-terrorism,' he said." Story... [Mark Godsey]
-- so please, Europe, STFU. You have no clue what you're talking about. - dalittle, on 07/10/2008, -2/+6Obama thinks that FISA is over now. I think it has just begun. If you donated to Obama, ask for you campaign contribution back so you can donate it to the ACLU. If Obama is not going to represent people, then give your money to someone that will.
- dcbebop, on 07/10/2008, -0/+4I'm voting Ficus 2008
- pablo0713, on 07/10/2008, -1/+5Epic fail!
- Blitzenn, on 07/10/2008, -1/+5"Terror shall not be free to cavort in the US!"
~as well as "Personal right to privacy, invasion of your home and civil liberties shall not be free to cavort in the US!"
Good thing we got 'em all in one stroke! might have been hard to pass in seperate bills.
Maybe Rev. Wright was actually right? - jazzguitar18, on 07/10/2008, -1/+5lololololololololololol I was waiting for the vote ron paul, didn't take long. honestly I don't feel like voting at all now. I was never a clinton supporter, Obama mostly.. I might put my vote in for Mike Gravel. at least he's still in....... or is he???........... oh balls
- skews13, on 07/10/2008, -1/+5if you truly feel that way. you should have no problems voting out the representatives of your district this november. your actions will clearly speak louder than your words, when the time comes to vote.
- Nothlit, on 07/10/2008, -0/+4As much as I would like to vote for him, Ron Paul is no longer running.
- str1fe, on 07/10/2008, -0/+4Clicking on the "x hours, x minutes ago" thing under someone's name creates a hyper link that goes to just that comment thread.
For example, from clicking the "17 hr 2 min ago" link under 30somethinDad's name, I got:
http://digg.com/political_opinion/FISA_Fight_Just_ ... - Barackalypse, on 07/10/2008, -0/+3Dugg for a Huffpo article critical of Obama: "Obama surrendered both his base and his convictions... Instead, he folded, and now it's hard to see him as anything more than a typical politician who promises whatever's politically convenient at the time."
Some of us saw him that way all along, to the rest of you, welcome on board and next time I suggest you pick a better hero. - palewook, on 07/10/2008, -1/+4"I pledge allegiance to the Corporations of the United States of America, and to the Business for which it stands, one nation under the President, divisible by money, with tax-breaks and surveillance for all."
- Abomonog, on 07/10/2008, -1/+4It was an anti-motivational poster. Please leave.
