I think the reason Obama and crew are taking the prosecution of Bush and Cheney and their gang slowly is because the flow of information about the depth of their crimes has just started. Like any good lawyer or judge, there's a case the Obama administration has/wants to build. With the rate of information about their crimes growing exponentially every day, it's probably a good idea to chill for awhile and wait for more info to come out. - NiftyG, on 03/12/2009, -8/+146Several untimely and suspicious deaths during this time:
Dr David Kelly (exposed WMD sham - suicide)
Paul Wellstone (voted against the war - small plane crash)
J. Clifford Baxter (witness against Enron - suicide by gunshot)
DC Madame (supposedly had dirt on everyone - suicide)
Gary Webb (author of book exposing CIA drug trafficking - suicide) - Jhiaxuz, on 03/12/2009, -6/+94This could really go two ways:
A) More in depth investigations and incriminating evidence for the Bush Administration
or
B) Seymour Hersh is later found dead in his home in what appears to be another suicide case. - logic6, on 03/12/2009, -3/+67You know who else used to use terror squads? Saddam Hussein.
You know who taught him how to do that? Rumsfield, Wolfowitz, and Cheney. - LouiseCalabro, on 03/11/2009, -10/+61This is something that all good American citizens need to learn about... I hope Hersh gives us more.
- noisician, on 03/12/2009, -3/+49is this true? do you have a source for the notion that the Obama admin is actually thinking of pursuing prosecution of Bush/Cheney? i'm just skeptical that this would ever happen.
- pathouston22, on 03/12/2009, -4/+49Ken Lay, magically died just in time before going to prison.
- hasslinthehoff, on 03/12/2009, -5/+42Also, just in, the Pope is Catholic. The question is not whether Cheney and Bush circumvented the Constitution at every single opportunity, but whether or not someone is actually going to investigate what they did and whether or not they should be locked up for the rest of their lives.

- Nodaki, on 03/12/2009, -5/+25C) Incontrovertible evidence is presented about treasonous activity, but Obama gives the line "we do not want to focus on past."

The conspiracy theorists are correct. They are all playing for the same team, even if they don't know it. - SocialPoison, on 03/12/2009, -3/+22I've got $100 saying neither Bush nor Cheney will be brought to trial for their crimes. Any takers? Didn't think so.
- diggduggDOOM, on 03/12/2009, -1/+20Mike Connell (Rove's former IT consultant and set to be witness in Ohio voter fraud from 2004, complained of threats against his family by Rove - died in small plan crash)
- Nodaki, on 03/12/2009, -4/+22The most insane thing about this is that a journalist is investigating this and not the DOJ or Congress.
- jaythree9, on 03/12/2009, -1/+19Wellstone's death was tragic. It was just too convenient, and it destroyed Democrat morale in Minnesota. He was much loved.
- mjbk24, on 03/12/2009, -2/+19Like WMD's in Iraq?
- shylove, on 03/12/2009, -8/+25I'm more curious about how this may apply to secret programs with the CIA and other intelligence agencies in our own country since the secret programs specifically mention terrorists and sex offenders and both of these are wildcards particularly if the programs are secret and have no independent authorization. In which case it would be pretty much up to anyone's personal bias. After all we know that some time agao they had secret programs to experiment on US homeless opeople, prostitutes, and drug addicts in terminal experiments. Given that predilection what do you thinik they might do if the gloves came off and they had a blank check?
- AndrewMoyer, on 03/12/2009, -2/+19B cont'd) ...overdosed on heroin, surrounded by child porn and checks from al Qaeda
- Nodaki, on 03/12/2009, -9/+25You are seriously mistaken if you believe that those that committed treason, and violated the Constitution of the United States are going to be brought to justice under the Obama administration.
They will pay lip service to the public but have no qualms about using the same tools that have been provided to them by the previous administration.
"Like any good lawyer or judge, there's a case the Obama administration has/wants to build."
How much time has to expire in order for you to give up your immature notion that the Obama administration cares about civil liberties or the Constitution? After his first term is done, will you say he needs more time to prosecute the criminals? - BadAsh71, on 03/12/2009, -1/+17Hell, even PBS (Frontline) did a report during the Bush Administration showing how Cheney had fully planned the Iran invasion out before Bush even took office. It was part of his selling points to get Bush to run for office (finish what daddy started in Iraq and take out Iran).
Check the PBS site, you can watch the whole thing online.
And yes, they have hard evidence. - dlsmith2, on 03/12/2009, -6/+22ok im no fan of Bush/Cheney administration but i think that some evidence is in order when making claims such as these
- diggitalism, on 03/12/2009, -2/+17let's hope HE doesn't get assassinated for investigating
- novalux, on 03/12/2009, -3/+16Yeah that's a bunch of *****. Even without the conspiracy theory, Obama doesn't have enough balls to do that. No former president has ever been held accountable for crimes, correct?
- VitriolAndAngst, on 03/12/2009, -6/+19@Shutaro,
I think the ONLY reason Obama is "taking it slow" and not supporting investigations, is that the former Bush admin has a gun to their heads.
I think the main reason for the internal NSA spying was to get dirt on people and extort their compliance. It has since been revealed, that a list of "don't spy" names, was used to actually specifically target talk show hosts and political adversaries of the Bush administration. Just like Hoover and Nixon before with their enemies list.
We had 6 nukes go missing from the Airforce, after they were "accidentally" shipped on a plane -- and curiously, the information leaked out about it and only that forced the issue to secure the weapons. However, only 5 were recovered.
We had Homeland Security and the CIA paid good money to have politicians enjoy hookers and poker at the Watergate Hotel. Can we imagine what that was about? Was it just good fun, or more of the carrots and sticks -- reward those who comply and get dirt on the rest.
People in the Bush administration got promoted AFTER it was found they had some serious ethics problems. They acted more like the mob than a political organization.
I do not put ANYTHING beyond the BushCo that they could get away with.
Do we remember the outing of Valerie Plame? Was that just political revenge, or was it a way to take out Brewster Jennings -- a CIA group involved in preventing proliferation of WMDs and keeping tabs on Oil cartels.
Instead of waste pages to document all the curious "mistakes" that benefitted BushCo,.. I'll just chime in and say that Building 7 at the WTC had the documents on the ENRON scam, and a court case about to close that would have meant $17 Billion in fraud charges against the Bush family for pushing phony Federal Notes. Google it yourself. Conveniently, all the evidence was destroyed.
Now of course, we all now that Bin Laden was responsible. And of course, conveniently, a former executive of UNOCAL runs Afghanistan, and UNOCAL now has a gas pipeline there. All of this is circumstantial.
>> Oh, and does anyone remember the guy who had a seizure, and that for his own health, it was required to lobotomize his ability to speak the day before the Iran/Contra hearings?
And wasn't it convenient that all the Kuwaiti royals were out of the country when Saddam invaded? We were told by James Baker that it was a mistake of an underling that gave Saddam the impression that the US wouldn't care if he invaded as a reprisal for their slant-drilling. It seemed to have worked out quite well for Pappy Bush and the Kuwaiti royals (who were worried about a budding Democracy in that country).
Dick Cheney and Bush family both make money on selling weapons and re-building after the explosions. I couldn't think of a bigger threat to national security than having those two roaming around free with their swollen bank accounts intact.
So many coincidences. Accidents just seem to happen to whistle-blowers. And disasters just seem to make profits for the people who made the innocent mistakes.
Yeah, our new leader, seems to be a good guy, and he needs to tread carefully. The TARP bailout, was necessary, because the Banks were holding our economy hostage. And the lack of prosecutions and investigations, are due to the outgoing administration, not being exactly toothless. And still, we have a private mercenary force in this country called Blackwater (or whatever they are calling themselves today) with blimps and tanks. These anti-Democracy organizations, are definitely not going to be allies of the incoming administration, if it believes in diplomacy and transparency. Covert ops organizations only have power and money when things are getting worse, and there are more threats to security.
We really have to wonder -- how much of these Executive Hitmen, were privatized? After Bush, about 80% of our CIA has been privatized -- including intelligence gathering. It should concern you to know, that our Nuclear Weapons manufacturing, is also now a private business, and that the UAE (Dubai) has purchased 7 weapons manufacturers in the US (not the nuclear ones, however). We've got all our forces deployed overseas, and we have a lot of TEETH sitting in this country -- with no allegiance to our Constitution.
This should explain to a lot of people, why BHO has been very cautious, about any hearings or assigning of blame. - 380ppm, on 03/12/2009, -3/+15unless oral sex is a crime.
- VitriolAndAngst, on 03/12/2009, -0/+12We could add a few inspectors in Iraq to the list as well.
Early in the war, there was a lady in charge of reporting Iraqi casualties. She was killed on her way to the airport in the green zone, on the day she was supposed to report to Washington. The job was never filled again. - costumemaker, on 03/12/2009, -1/+13On a serious note.. and this might sound paranoid.. think about this
Ken Lay was in the secret energy meetings that Dick Cheney called. Well, when Enron was busted, Ken Lay said 'Hey, I will tell you all my secrets for a plea bargain' then mysteriously died. Whereas you now have Bernie the ponzie saying that he would take all of his secrets to jail and to the grave.
Lets not forget a few others too like the IT guy that said his plane was sabotaged and wouldnt fly on it, but then did and mysteriously crashed. I cant remember his name, but it was the guy who was going to report about the hacked voting machines and missing emails from the Bush admin. I will see if I can find it and reply again.
Seriously.. an assassin squad that reports directly to the VP? How is this not a dictatorship in the making? The CIA by its own making is NOT allowed to act or work inside the US borders. That is the job of the FBI. Now you have CIA hitmen with unlimited power and resources knocking people off in the US.
And remember this.. it was only cancelled because of the "collateral damage in deaths" it caused. That means that people in the US.. innocents are dying while political hitmen are taking out political targets? This is WAY ***** up.
*EDIT* here is the article on the IT expert
http://www.rawstory.com/news/2008/Karl_Roves_IT_gu ... - ganeshsugunan, on 03/12/2009, -1/+13because they weren't his biggest enemies.
- terracottapai, on 03/12/2009, -4/+15He was the guest lecturer in my class that morning and said pretty much the same thing.
I recorded it, here's what he said:
"I have a lot of problems, because we have a secret unit that does go around killing people. I know an awful lot about it, I haven't pulled the trigger on what I know, because.. I'm not sure they're not committing murder because I don't know what the authority is for what they do. And so here you have a bunch of young guys that became SEALs and Delta Force commandos. Uh, 'commandos' is a word they don't like, it's a little bit.. beneath them. You have these special armies, who end up in with a secret unit designed to go kill people in a different country. Go over to the country, in civilian clothes, don't tell the CIA station chief, don't tell the ambassador, go to somebody's house at night, pull them out, shoot 'em, go home. That's what they're doing. On the basis of what kind of intelligence? And that's probably murder. It's been run out of the White House for eight years, I don't know what to do about that. I haven't pulled the plug on that either."
For what it's worth, nobody was really surprised by this. I'm still not, really. - inactive, on 03/12/2009, -4/+15is it cause your wrap the hamsters you shove up your ass?

>> How many Liberals and Latin American leaders who were against Globalism have been taken out in small planes? The press reported that he was an amateur pilot, but in fact, JFK Jr. was a very skilled pilot. The chances of Liberal and Latin American leaders perishing in a small plane are many orders of magnitude greater than the risk for the average small plane traveler. Not all are assassinations -- but, it could easily help explain the greater risks.

You could add a few more professionals who supported the Gulf War II in Europe to the list.
2 attempts on Chavez -- no matter what you think of his politics, the jackals were caught red-handed on that. There was direct evidence of US evolvement.
The School of the Americas.
>> I'd say that it all leads to the Economic Hitmen. Most factions of the CIA work for corporate interests and national security is just a convenient excuse. They tell themselves that economic stability provides for the general welfare. And all this has led us to the brink of another great depression -- AFTER spreading misery and destroying real Democratic movements around the world.
There are about a dozen other names I could add to your list. - jaythree9, on 03/12/2009, -1/+11Because he needed them to justify his actions.

Supes, your hypocrisy is showing. - inactive, on 03/12/2009, -0/+10Why would those three be Bush's biggest enemies? Those are three he could point to, to further his agenda. Having them around helped him, not hurt him.

- tgc1, on 03/12/2009, -4/+13Stuff like this makes it a lot harder to figure out who the real "terrorists" are.
- lhbaker, on 03/12/2009, -1/+9Are you even familiar with Seymour Hersh? He's got a pretty solid history of investigative journalism. He was the first to report not only My Lai massacre, but Abu Graib, the Pentagon papers, and Iran Contra as well.
Just because you don't want to believe something doesn't make it *****. - Frnnkdlxx, on 03/12/2009, -0/+8Baseless conspiracy theories? erherm. in case your idiotic brain missed the chip that said "investigate before responding" i can give you one easy example of how these aren't conspiracies.
