I have been spit on in airports throughout the middle-east & Africa & had to declare I was Canadian just to make sure I made it back to my home in one piece.
If you have never personally had to fear for your safety simply because you were an American citizen in a foreign country because of what the Bush administration has done then you cannot speak on the subject. Those who live their quiet little lives in the "Pro-America" parts of America and never experienced first hand the vitriolic hate directed towards us have no right to even discuss the subject.
I was ashamed of my fellow countrymen all the way up until Nov. 5th, 2008. Now my pride radiates from my being for all to see. We finally have a smart eloquent well versed educated leader who knows the difference between Shia & Sunni and can actually understand how important science and technology is for all of us and also knows that the Bible is reserved for Sundays on his personal time.
It feels good to be American again.
