- Waiting2awake, on 10/12/2007, -4/+16WOW, I'm shocked!!
Known lyers, lying. Next up, sun to rise in east tomorrow morning. - saikhan, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13But the question this article raises is:
How do we know we can trust this kind of information, including the article you linked to? - Hurshai, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7"because some of the most deadliest bombs in Iraq are being supplied by Iran"
That is very true, Iran is most likely suppling arms for the insurgency. So is every other country in the region. I'm not going to try and make up a statistic but I'm sure that a sound number of insurgents are from other nations. These include our "allies" in the region (Saudi Arabia, Yemen...pretty much all of them). Do we go after them next? Where does it end? It's obvious this administration is looking for a reason to expand the war into Iran. Whether doctored, provocated, or legitimate I'm positive they can facilitate an excuse.. To say we should go to war with Iran because they are essentially fighting a proxy war against us neglects that every other middle eastern country is as well. We can't nail them all to the wall. - bustaballs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Quite the opposite. Either you're confusing right and left-wing or you're just plain out wrong.
- jaycliche, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6"Known lyers, lying. Next up, sun to rise in east tomorrow morning."
LOL But they didn't lie about oral sex. You just don't get it. Oral sex man! The guy got head! So much more important to national security and international stability. What power that mouth had! - Hurshai, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5"With all of this as known information a full half of you, at the time I write this, are in SUPPORT of Iran! I'm shocked and dismayed at the lack of consistency and logic that many of you apply to your decision making process."
Nice over generalization, it was entertaining. True, some people dislike the U.S. governement to where they would see it fit to support (albeit verbally) an antagonistic nation. Call it rooting for the underdog. I think that more people just plain don't want to see more needless conflict (I think the poll numbers relfect this). We have neither the material or will to succesfully open another front. - Marijuana, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6There seriously needs to be a bill passed to condemn the blatant liars on Capital Hill.
- jaycliche, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I think your monitor is upside-down. For some liberal news go to http://www.foxnews.com
This might "balance" you out. - Hurshai, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5-"To bad you can't respond to my factual comment with facts instead of rhetoric, although I would expect nothing more than rhetoric from you as your comment prove my facts 100% correct."

I use a PC - Groovemaster, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7Yeah, just like there was plenty of evidence that Iraq had WMD's in the run-up to that invasion.
In Bush's own words... "Fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — *bumble* *snicker* *panic* *squirm* you can't get fooled again." - HUKI365, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Maybe if a law was passed so that people were actually held accountable when they went to far with their girlfriends...sped on the highway...or stole stationary from the office, that might be a step forward?
People in power are held accountable all the time, probably witha greater "hit" rate than our own personal sins. And don't tell me you "wouldn't do *that*" - because I bet as a child you would have said you never would have sped on the highway either. Sure our and your leaders aren't saints - far from it. But whenever you have a person in a situation you have cheating, gaming and lying.
There are solutions to this of course, but our materiallistic society doesn't put as much emphasis on telling the truth as it does on who has the largest flat screen, fastest CPU, or biggest government contract to rebuild Iraq. - Groovemaster, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4It's not up to the people to assume the government suddenly became honest "just in case". It's up to the government to win back the people's trust.
Maybe if a law was passed that required politicians to ACTUALLY BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR LIES, that might be a step forward. Who knows? - shawnfassett, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'm skeptical of anything that the New York Times' Michael Gordon puts out there (even without Judith Miller his 'unnamed' sources freak me out a bit.
Wonder how come the following news bit about Iran actually closing their borders to al-Qaeda doesn't make big news?

Al-Qaeda Suspects Color White House Debate Over Iran
By Dafna Linzer
Washington Post Staff Writer
Saturday, February 10, 2007; Page A01
Last week, the CIA sent an urgent report to President Bush's National Security Council: Iranian authorities had arrested two al-Qaeda operatives traveling through Iran on their way from Pakistan to Iraq. The suspects were caught along a well-worn, if little-noticed, route for militants determined to fight U.S. troops on Iraqi soil, according to a senior intelligence official. - cyclopsface, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4liberal mac fanboi's was last month - this month is all right wing nut jobs, global warming deniers, and microsoft apologists!
seriously what's going on - I used to enjoy the comments more than the articles a lot of the time. Now it''s grumpytown. - jaycliche, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4"The country does NOT have peaceful intentions and is in fact financing and materially supporting several "name brand" terrorist organizations."
May want to read up on the US involvement in Iran as far as why they are the way they are. They were relaxing a lot more before our placement of 30,000 troops on its border in Georgia back in 2001 that helped to radicalize them. I don't support them...but I also think the US needs to bow out of world politics before its legacy as history's largest fool. Again, don't you think having troops in 100 something countries is a bit more threatening? - jaycliche, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5So leave traitorous neocon scum.
- jaycliche, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5"Iran trumpets its support of Hezbollah Shiite militias,"
Lets try to see another perspective: US trumpets support for Israeli military.
Yeah...wonder why the Iranians are able to do that in Iraq? Think it has anything to do with the invasion. - jaycliche, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4"digg.com, the place for liberal, ignorant, unintelligent, lap dog, mac fanbois"
"To bad you can't respond to my factual comment with facts instead of rhetoric"
Let's repeat your genius words of enlightenment so the other folks can see the kind of name calling you started.
Your "facts" are not generalizing in the least and you seem to know what everyone on here is about...so I also felt that I know something about you...little baby troll. I guess only Neocons are allowed to slander.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neoconservative - bustaballs, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Thanks for this. More people need to realise that Iran isn't doing and hasn't done anything wrong... at least as far as what they're being blamed for. It's a complete mock of Iraq. Please read or listen to Ron Paul's speeches to congress on this matter.
- relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -2/+3Groovemaster is right.
It was never the White House's position to play cry wolf with Iraq like it did, and now our middle east policy is failing and our foreign relations are in a bigger mess than they've ever been. War, peace, diplomacy is not black or white, and there are options that our Bush administration will never consider to exercise.
I have a feeling that war with Iran is inevitable, and it isn't necessary in the least. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+6This is GREAT! ThinkProgress has already begun their cover up.
They will say "The government PLANNED to do this, but becuase of US getting hte word out, they stopped."
That is how they can claim to be never wrong, when in fact, they are wrong 99% of the time. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+6Yay, more ThinkProgress ***** stories hitting the front page!
- jaycliche, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Funny...this story was also on Fox, CNN, cover of El Diario etc.
- YeahOK, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I sense a circle jerk is about to commence...

- jaycliche, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3"It is so funny that so many people think they know it all in this day and age."
You seem to know a lot about this :p - jaycliche, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3"How can we trust the information that Iran isn't a threat?"
How many countries does Iran have troops and permanent bases in? How many countries does the US have permanent bases in. Regardless of the better sitcoms in the US, it seems that the largest threat to the world continuously has been the later. Really....those who live in glass houses. - JoCliMe, on 10/12/2007, -6/+6Hm...are they saying that Iran has no involvement in Iraq whatsoever? Hope someone can clear this up for me...because some of the most deadliest bombs in Iraq are being supplied by Iran http://www.nytimes.com/2007/02/10/world/middleeast/10weapons.html?ei=5094&en=e9a9ae56cb1df98a&hp=&ex=1171170000&partner=homepage&pagewanted=print
- jaycliche, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2"liberal mac fanboi's was last month - this month is all right wing nut jobs, global warming deniers, and microsoft apologists!"
...old saying about religion and politics. - gandaar, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Did anybody notice that this is a right wing to the max web site.
- jaycliche, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2They gonna foil another terror plot again as per the usual MO of negative press to these traitors?
Anna Nichol! - AdmiralAdama, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4Iran trumpets its support of Hezbollah Shiite militias, and sent hundreds of missiles to them in the last five years. Why wouldn't they send missiles to Shiite militias in Iraq? Anybody who believes that Iran is not supporting the insurgents in Iraq is letting ideology blind them. What's in it for Iran NOT to support the insurgents? To Iran, America is the "Great Satan". It's good to bleed the Great Satan.
- Groovemaster, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Sorry, not here.
I guess you'll have to keep searching. Good luck! - forgiste, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3and some of them were supplied by US
- Buelldozer, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2I advocate leaving Iran the hell alone. Given enough time the current government will implode on it's own, we (the US) don't need to do anything and we SHOULD NOT do anything.
With that said, you Iranian apologists make me ill. It's simply beyond you to understand that Iran is not a country of innocence and light. The country does NOT have peaceful intentions and is in fact financing and materially supporting several "name brand" terrorist organizations.
They are, without question, supporting the fighting in Iraq with men and material. Making it harder for us to bring stability to the country and allowing further causalities among our military and Iraqi civilians. They are, again without question, supporting Hezbollah, and directly contributing to the instability of Palestine and Israel.
With all of this as known information a full half of you, at the time I write this, are in SUPPORT of Iran! I'm shocked and dismayed at the lack of consistency and logic that many of you apply to your decision making process. - SteveisSuperMan, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2@saikhan
How can we trust the information that Iran isn't a threat?
I am against war, but if there are indeed countries out there that are planning attacks on us, it does us no good to act as if the government is lying about everything. True, we have seen the government lie a lot lately, but I worry that soon the government won't be lying and the American people won't listen.
Edit: whoops; I didn't click 'reply', sorry. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Ok, now that is a sarcastic remark if I ever heard one. digg.com, right wing, ROFLMAO.
- JoCliMe, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3True, however, there is a plethora of evidence that implies that Iran has a role in Iraq. Search google for "Iran involvement in Iraq" to get a stipend.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -8/+4There's no chance of us going to war with Iran. Anyone want to place bets? These articles are boring.
- mrtorok, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1It is so funny that so many people think they know it all in this day and age.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1@jaycliche
Actually I am not a 'neocon', although I would love to see your inaccurate definition of a word that basically means 'new conservative'. Send, stating that I a traitorous is slander, you have not idea of my political affiliation or my morals. You sir are the most unbelievable example of the need for abortion on demand that I have seen on the internet recently.
To bad you can't respond to my factual comment with facts instead of rhetoric, although I would expect nothing more than rhetoric from you as your comment prove my facts 100% correct. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1You're right. I guess it is far better to let a county smolder and not know the actual truth than to invade and be mistaken.
