It does NOT put the government in charge of doctors and hospitals, as you falsely claim. The government is not going into the insurance business, or the healthcare business. They are only setting up provisions for people to be able to obtain health insurance at more affordable rates.
I've seen my healthcare insurance rates more than double over the last 8 years. If you have to change insurance companies, or healthcare providers, most of them do not cover pre-existing conditions. Furthermore, each year they keep reducing the medical services they cover, or medical conditions that "qualify", while still jacking up the premiums.
It's easy for people who have never had a pre-existing medical condition, or a medical emergency, to not worry about healthcare coverage. However, just ONE little event can wipe you out finacially and ruin your life.
Over the years, I've seen too many of my friends lose everything they have because of a single medical crisis that wiped them out. This is AMERICA and we deserve better than this. - clashofculture, on 05/23/2008, -0/+0Tell someone in India, Nigeria, Kenya or Myanmar what you deserve, then we'll talk.
