- Hasangetinya, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Mate I would be all about Gun Control if we lived in a society where they werent needed!!!
Like the article says "
The right to bear arms was included in the Bill of Rights, not to deter crime, but to deter oppressive government. Just governments honor and protect the right to bear arms. Oppressive governments fear and prohibit the right to bear arms.
I do not trust the government of the United States of America - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Now that is a good example of an opposing point of view. Although I don't agree with you as far as an "all or none" in recognizing our individual rights, you made your point clear and rational. Thank you.

What kind of gun control laws do you believe would solve the "problem"? Please be specific regarding what these laws would do and explain how these laws would accomplish a solution.
"Now the "Make My Day" laws have spread even further. You don't even have to TRY to reason with anyone before shooting."
Why should an individual be forced to attempt to "reason" with an attacker who is threatening their life? - Dimensio, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"Why do arguments that bring up the second amendment (as several of the 99 words do) always seem to forget the bit about "a well regulated militia"?"
It is likely because the amendment ultimately states that the right to keep and bear arms is of "the people", and not of "a well regulated militia". - Hasangetinya, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2You couldn't be more wrong, Lisa. If I didn't have this gun, the king of England could just walk in here anytime he wants and start shoving you around. Do you want that? Huh? Do you?
Homer J. Simpson
without an armed republic who will defend us agains the true criminal, the government, the cfr, the nwo...
stop being brainwashed and realize whats really going on before we experience a state of national depression and live in a full blown oligarchy!!!! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3@hasangetinya,
I don't trust any other government either, for that matter! - Hasangetinya, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Fair enough Malfourmed, but too be honest with you about 3 years ago I believed in abolishing the NRA and was all in favor of giving up our right to bear arms. I loved Michael Moore's Bowling for Columbine and it still partly makes sense however over the last 2 years I have also been informed on the shadow government, the Zionist agenda, the dumbing down of America & Great Britain along with other countries, the debt we are accumulating, the foreign troops training in black ops such as taking over local police station ( which in my opinion means the globalist UN army repelling any opposition put up by the good police who dint just take orders and actually follow the constitution)
The UN eventually want to completely police, patrol, attack & protect the world according to the New World Order, which is slowly but surely being implemented while we stand by and do nothing!!!!
SO REMEMBER THESE ARE MY BELIEFS AND I JUST WANT TO INFORM OTHERS BUT I BELIEVE OUR RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS IS BIGGER THAN THE ARGUMENT BEING PRESENTED TO US...
I BELIEVE WE NEED THIS RIGHT TO PROTECT OUR HOMES OUR CHILDREN OUR WORLD...
My beliefs are newly founded and I dint think I have the capacity to build a proper case however I would like whoever is interested to search for Alex Jones, The Illuminati, The Protocols of Zion, and visit http://www.freedom-force.org/ and savethemales.ca...
OPEN YOUR MIND TO THE CONSPIRACY WIDELY ADMITTED BY THE SENIOR MOST OF OUR PUPPET LEADERSHIP... - malfourmed, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Why do arguments that bring up the second amendment (as several of the 99 words do) always seem to forget the bit about "a well regulated militia"?
Merely allowing everyone to own a gun does not result a well regulated militia. It more often results in a survival-of-the-best-armed-and-first-to-shoot mentality. Yes, there are many responsible gun owners, but there are also many irresponsible ones.
Look at Switzerland: they seem to have it right. Yes, gun ownership is effectively mandated, but with it goes extended training (as part of compulsory national service), strict regulation over access to ammunition and regular audits to ensure that the firearms are only used for their intended purpose. What I would call a well regulated militia.
Lo and behold, gun crimes are much lower on a per-capita basis in Switzerland than in the United States, despite a high rate of gun ownership.
I personally think the second amendment is archaic and should be gotten rid of, but I'd have a lot fewer problems with it if it was implemented according to ALL of its words. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Quicky from Ireland.
4th. most peaceful place on earth. The US is somewhere above Iraq. I think.
In top 10 of every and any worthwhile list.
NO GUNS!!!
Uniformed police - NO GUNS
Other that recent drug gangs, gun crime is virtually none existent.
We are NOT repressed by our REAL democratic government.
We only do PEACEKEEPING for the UN only, where we use brain and not brawn.
We survive without killing humans, animals or birds.
Why do you need a gun? Because the other bloke might have one!
Why do you need a knife? Because the other bloke might have one!
Over 10% of our population is not ethnic Irish.
You took us in when we needed you. Now it is our turn - to people that appreciate our country and life style. You are too violent to be good Irish citizens so keep this information to yourselves. We do not want the 21st century 'liberation' getting ideas, Ok? So, NO GUNS, thank you. You've being sold a pup to keep you violent and on a war footing. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2@mightydavefish, the "stupidest" thing ever written, is whenever you write. You have proven over and over that you deserve the most ignorant individual award. Dumb dog.

Yeah, uh, we don't really need nutters like you trying to present bizarre conspiracy theories when fighting against restrictive and unnecessary gun laws. Referencing a know hoax work like "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion" really doesn't make for a good argument. It's better to stick to the known lies and deception of groups like the Brady Center.
Or are you trying to make gun control opponents look like idiots? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2Stupidest thing ever written.
This is the moron sort of "reasoning" that passes for logic in the NRA's war on having a safer country.
The argument is that it is somehow SAFER for everyone to be armed to the teeth with weapons that can murder at the twitch of a finger.
But it's UNSAFE for us to not have these weapons.
Give me a break. This argument wouldn't succeed in a 3rd grade class debate.
Let's reason this out, moron.
1. You and I both have guns. We shoot each other dead.
2. Neither of us has guns. We go home and watch tv.
How is choice 1 safer for ANYONE, including all the innocent bystanders?
The answer is: it's not safer. It's infinitely more dangerous.
If we had gun control laws that were strictly enforced this wouldn't be a problem.
How about: if you get caught with an unregistered gun, it's a year in a work camp. There, I just solved the problem
Unfortunatly the douchebags at the NRA are pushing an agenda that ensures that we are all in danger, all the time.
Now the "Make My Day" laws have spread even further. You don't even have to TRY to reason with anyone before shooting. How can that be considered progress by anyone with a brain? Only cowboy wanna-bes are happy. Now they are bribing corrupt politicians to vote in ways that make America less safe and put us all in danger at the hands of tiny penised wanna-be cowboys.
