- satanatnmtedu, on 10/13/2007, -6/+2215 is not a majority. There are 435 reps in the House. 218 is a majority.
- davenp35, on 10/13/2007, -0/+6215 is more than 213 which makes it a majority of votes.
- anelajett, on 10/13/2007, -0/+6nice try satanatnmtedu - - keep in mind, that not all reps may be present (i.e. john doe law recently passed had 4 absent: brownback, feinstein, johnson and obama). both davenp35 and senkmajer are correct; it is the majority of votes CAST.
- senkmajer, on 10/13/2007, -0/+7It is the majority of votes cast, regardless of 218.
- jackgivens, on 10/13/2007, -2/+5I certainly wish republicans had done somethings better when they were in control but this democrat congress is hard to believe. The arrogance and child like behavior that takes precedence over the rule of law is staggering.
- Kewlduderules, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Its the Gaminos vs the Corleones- all are fighting for their special interests, i.e., money!
- DreadPirate, on 10/13/2007, -1/+5Behavior like this is exactly why Congress has a lower approval rating than Bush does.
- Terr01, on 10/13/2007, -2/+3Actually, if you break Congress in two, Democrats-In-Congress have a higher approval rating than Bush does.
- Andechs, on 10/13/2007, -4/+3I'm all for investigating this...right after Congress finishes their other investigations: abu ghraib torture, mismanagement of the war, Pat Tillman's death, war profiteering from KBR and Blackwater, the election scandals of 2000, 2004, and 2006, secret CIA torture prisons, selling arms to Saudi Arabia, gerrymandering in various states (Texas especially http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:TravisCountyDistricts.png), US attorney firings, etc.
- Andechs, on 10/13/2007, -2/+2Oh look there already is an investigation
