    Let me first state that I am against the war in Iraq, but what amazes me the most is that my liberal friends that are against the Iraq war are gung ho for the war in Darfur. He is the dialog:

    Me: Why are you for a war in Darfur?

    Lib: People are like getting slaughtered there, by the way it is a peace keeping mission not a war

    Me: People were getting slaughtered in Iraq, by the way a "peace keeping" mission pretty much means an extremely poorly managed war where the US takes different sides by the day (see Bosnia)

    Lib: I guess I just have a conscious and care about the people there

    Me: You don't care about the people in Iraq?

    Lib: That war was for Oil, they didn't have it that bad

    Me: Your kidding right?

    Lib: Why are you asking me this stuff? You were against the war in Iraq weren't you?

    Me: Yes, but because it violated my principles. The government is forcefully taking money from me and using it to fund a war I don't support.

    Lib: Well, this is a war I support

    Me: Then why don't you voluntarily fund it and not use the government as a tool to forcefully take from other to support a cause they may not agree with.

    Lib: Because this is for freedom

    Me: I think I heard Bush say the same thing about Iraq (Shaking head at Lib friends logic)

    STOP THE PARTISAN POLITICS AND GET SOME PRINCIPLES!!!!!!!!!!!!

    they could tolerate us sacrificing our lives and money for a cause that has no benefit to our own country, but when were fighting for our own security it becomes out of the question.

    the fact remains is that our government is instituted to defend our nation's security, and placing others above ourselves is self sacrificial and adverse to the freedom and prosperity of the US.
