- bellow, on 02/15/2008, -9/+114Whew! Keith Olberman has got a set on him!
Thank You Keith, on behalf of me, my wife, my 4 children and unborn grandchildren.
Thank You SIR! - ccfoo242, on 02/15/2008, -11/+102Damn rousing speech. He should run for office.
- inactive, on 02/15/2008, -9/+77That was a bitch slap to Bush. DUGG.
- HughManBeing, on 02/15/2008, -10/+71America: Freedom to Fascism
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-165688030 ... - inactive, on 02/15/2008, -5/+61It's about time the Democrats in Congress grew a pair.
- Leetamus, on 02/15/2008, -4/+56I''m Canadian and watching all that's happened down south over the past couple of years has really changed the local perception of Americans. Which is a real drag. Where I usually enjoy ribbing Americans, I just want to say America has always been a proud nation with strong beliefs and I hope you guys can pull it together after all this ***** your government has laid on you. Keep strong and don't let everything your country fought for just slip away because of a rediculous and embarrassing president. From the looks of it you're two steps away from being a police state and that's scary as hell to your northern neighbours.
- rz8472, on 02/15/2008, -6/+53"Those who would trade freedom for security deserve neither" > "!FEAR! Somewhere terrorists are plotting to kill all of us, so let me turn this country into a police state !FEAR!"
- omgTHEPATRIOTS, on 02/15/2008, -9/+53Keith Olbermann is the freakin' man!
http://whoisterrorizing.us? - kushin, on 02/15/2008, -9/+49Thank you sir, for your audacity in exposing the fascist regime
- carolinaws, on 02/15/2008, -2/+36Please, no. We need voices like Olbermann to keep ALL POLITICIANS straight. He slams the Dems for being spineless and for their wrongdoing as much as he slams Bush for all of his illegal actions.
- BigBallistix, on 02/15/2008, -6/+33I'd be interested to see the estimated ratings for that.
His method of speech is also interesting. He speaks as if directly to Bush, in quite a severe tone and yet it's effect on me was seemingly to raise my own temper in defiance whilst my thoughts were actually directed towards Bush. Cool.
I wish the next Prez has the balls to imprison Bush. - inactive, on 02/15/2008, -5/+29I'm not gay, but I'm a little bit in love with Keith Olbermann.
- InfamousAtheist, on 02/15/2008, -0/+22You got that wrong... If you even bothered to pay attention you'd know it's Bush attempting to fill our heads with *****. Olbermann spoke the truth, and he's got my respect forever for having the balls to tell it like it is.
Now go back to Rush or whoever so you can continue hating America and freedom, asshat. - tucsonsun13, on 02/15/2008, -8/+29I can't think of one thing Bush has accomplished in his presidency. Not one. When I think of his "legacy", as he smugly suggests we will when he's long gone, I think of the countless things his admin. has destroyed. Everything from personal freedoms to the economy. Take a moment today to realize what state this country's in. It's collapsing both from within and due to over-extension.
Obama - Sean42, on 02/15/2008, -5/+24George Bush is a lying sack of *****.
President Cheney is the one pulling all of W's strings, though. - inactive, on 02/15/2008, -1/+20So you can't defend Bush's lies, huh?
- Lephtovermeet, on 02/15/2008, -7/+25First off, it was an amazing speech as are most of Keith's. My only problem with this speech, is he places all the blame on the republican party. There are respectable republicans who honor their traditional beliefs. Furthermore, the great majority of democrats are just as phony and bought. Blame the congress as a whole for not taking action; blame the house for not pursuing impeachment and persecuting those who do; but don't just blame the republicans.
- savetheusa1, on 02/15/2008, -3/+19But what did he say that was inaccurate? Isn't that what fascism is? Like him or not its true.
- jeremyduffy, on 02/15/2008, -2/+15I apologize on behalf of America. I feel so ashamed of what our country has become, but I'm unfortunately powerless to do much more than complain a lot in digg comments :P
- johnhummel, on 02/15/2008, -1/+14I figure it's because it's the kind of thing we'd like to say to Bush. Heck, the closest person to that was Stephen Colbert, who got to pretty much stand 10 feet from Bush and tell people what an idiot he was. Talk about massive, huge balls made of solid titanium.
- dforty3, on 02/15/2008, -3/+15They are paid not to grow a pair in campaign donations by the corporate industries who also write the legislation in this country.
- HypocriteDigg, on 02/15/2008, -4/+15LOL, why is it that anyone the neocon fascists feel threatened by, they make anti sites against them? Michael Moore for example.
- PeppermintPig, on 02/15/2008, -0/+11Tony Snow has wit? Perhaps a bit smarmy.
- jaxcs, on 02/15/2008, -5/+16is olberman wrong? hint:no.
- b0rg, on 02/15/2008, -5/+16Yeah. I had just finished watching it on TV and still was a little too ticked off to type.
- Bhima, on 02/15/2008, -1/+12Spaza is not a terrorist.
Spaza is a Fascist. - HueytheFreeman, on 02/15/2008, -0/+10You can't fool me with oHg5SJYRHA0. I know that one by heart.
- purzzzell, on 02/15/2008, -3/+13Finally someone in the media blames Bush for vetoing ***** when he's blaming congress for not passing legislation "acceptable" to him - (then again if you check my history, I said the same thing earlier today.)
Keith has gained my respect, if only for screaming out my own opinion. - overtoke, on 02/15/2008, -4/+14JimmySpaza = Traitor
- ubergeek09, on 02/15/2008, -2/+12"plagues of locust and stuff" haha that was awesome.
- papastout, on 02/15/2008, -5/+14Keith is SO ON IT!!!
- MisterNoMoniker, on 02/15/2008, -4/+13"Special Comment" means it's his personal opinion and distances it a bit from MSNBC, so he's really putting his own neck out there when he says things like this.
Keith Olberman is a true patriot and deserves our respect. - coredump0x01, on 02/15/2008, -2/+11Fixed link http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-165688030 ...
- InfamousAtheist, on 02/15/2008, -0/+9I studied journalism and mass communication in college so I am easily disgusted by the MSM's lack of ethics. Over the last seven years, the MSM has bent over for Bush without questioning his actions or explanations, although this has been changing over the last two years or so. The lead-up to the invasion of Iraq was the worst of it, but it went further than that. I'm not talking only about FOX News here either - I'm pissed at all of them: CNN, MSNBC/NBC, ABC, CBS, etc.
I think most of the big media outlets are more interested in entertaining their viewers than acting as responsible journalists, and with that comes the fear of alienating their audience with controversy. This is a major breach of ethics fueled primarily by corporate directives to earn money and "play nice" with the government for fear of losing access or political favor.
I do think it takes guts to call the President out for his lies in our current cultural and political atmosphere. Stewart does a good job of it and I love him too...
I think your question was honest. I hope you weren't being sarcastic. - guichetroo, on 02/15/2008, -4/+13Yes, they both have their own political ideologies, but that doesn't mean they are equally right when they make a point. Olberman uses reason and logic. On the other hand, you can't watch O'Reilly for more than 30 secs at a time without spotting a gapping flaw in his rhetoric.
- Terr01, on 02/15/2008, -1/+9I fear his legacy will be that he went amazingly far without being impeached. :/
- InfamousAtheist, on 02/15/2008, -0/+8You can empower yourself to do more than complain on the internet. Call your representatives in Congress. Volunteer for a political party or other organization. Donate money. Vote.
There are many, many ways to get involved. Don't sell yourself short. - inactive, on 02/15/2008, -4/+12I totally agree with JimmySpaza! Olbermann is the devil. I heard he eats babies and butterflies, and farts out angry bees. I also heard that if you look him in the eye you'll get the Hiv. Stay away citizens, and back to American Idol!
- jaxcs, on 02/15/2008, -4/+12Can't even bother to muster up a defense, just link to other sites. pathetic.
- ronaldinho, on 02/15/2008, -3/+10I watched that video and man Olbermann was on fire blasting Bush. He said every word I wanted to say about Bush. You, Keith Olbermann, is the man of the day
- jonthebishop, on 02/15/2008, -4/+11It isn't too late to stop this. Write your representatives in the House: http://www.digg.com/politics/URGENT_Last_chance_to ...
- MisterNoMoniker, on 02/15/2008, -2/+9Right, it's not like it's about something important, like video games or kittens.
don't you have porn to get back to? - amoirae, on 02/15/2008, -2/+8Correction: Spaza is a Stupid Fascist Whore.
- MisterNoMoniker, on 02/15/2008, -2/+8Hyperbole is when you are exaggerating something dramatically for effect, not when you are pointing out a disgusting abuse of power.
The FACT is, George Bush is lying to continue actions that negatively effect every single American.
That is not an exaggeration. It is a rant, maybe, but not hyperbole. - InfamousAtheist, on 02/15/2008, -2/+8I agree it was a great speech, and I respect Keith for laying down the facts and calling Bush out. I watched it last night on TV and was charged even more afterwards than I was before... I (like many of you) am really angry at the Senate for passing this bill. I am even more happy with the House Dems for shutting the door on it for 10 days or so and exposing Bush's lies.
Keith is a very good journalist who speaks to an audience the MSM has ignored for a long time now. I hope he continues to gain popularity and also sticks to his guns as we get new leadership next year. He clearly favors Democratic policies, but I think he'll call out a Democratic president for idiocy the same as he does today with Bush. - dualityim, on 02/15/2008, -3/+9The difference is one has truth on his side, which enables him to support every one of his arguments with logic and reason. The other has neither, so he is forced to use rhetoric, fallacies, and falsehoods.
- nosecohn, on 02/15/2008, -1/+7My favorite part was when he quoted Senator Kennedy's impeccable logic:
“The President has said that American lives will be sacrificed if Congress does not change FISA. But he has also said that he will veto any FISA bill that does not grant retroactive immunity. No immunity, no FISA bill. So if we take the President at his word, he’s willing to let Americans die to protect the phone companies.” - leatherback, on 02/15/2008, -2/+8It is great when Olberman lets loose. He places FEAR at the feet of the Bush Administration and calls them out on it. What a bunch of pussies we have become...quaking in our boots....cause the terrorists might get us.
We need thousands of Olbermans speaking up every day....come out, come out, where ever you are. America needs saving. - TriTech, on 02/15/2008, -1/+7I think that China will be grateful to him. They will be making a lot of money off us as we attempt to repay what we have borrowed. Their economy has grown by leaps and bounds while Bush has been in office.
- squelched, on 02/15/2008, -3/+8I love you Keith Olbermann!
