- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -4/+51Sure it's scummy, but is it really lower than killing Iraqi civilians in a scheme to fatten his wallet with tax dollars?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -16/+37I still blame the Democrats for capitulating. What a disgrace.
- Napoleone, on 10/10/2007, -1/+20"New laws in haste they passed to replace those long established. And with no meaningful oversight, checks, nor sense of balance left, our rights now rested on the promised decency of Big Brother."

Coming to an America near you... - relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -0/+13I don't know why you even bother when every comment of yours is always the same.
"Leftwing wackos," "moonbats," "(Insert blanket quip about unemployment or drug abuse)," then do absolutely nothing to attempt to refute the other site of the argument with fact or anything of real substance. - TheZorch, on 10/10/2007, -1/+14Something has to be done, we can't afford to have him in the Oval Office until the '08 elections. He has to be taken out of office NOW!
- itsJALbert, on 10/10/2007, -1/+13He's a crook? Really? Where's the evidence of a crime?
- DragonGirl724, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11When has Bush NOT used a bogus terror threat to scare people? It's just what he does.
- spyd3rweb, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11The Real Terrorist... by definition
- sonstone, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11"In a way, the world-view of the Party imposed itself most successfully on people incapable of understanding it. They could be made to accept the most flagrant violations of reality, because they never fully grasped the enormity of what was demanded of them, and were not sufficiently interested in public events to notice what was happening. By lack of understanding they remained sane. They simply swallowed everything, and what they swallowed did them no harm, because it left no residue behind, just as a grain of corn will pass undigested through the body of a bird."
- Orwell - Mewchu11, on 10/10/2007, -2/+12Kinda hard to go lower than rock bottom.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10Hey *****,
I donated a ton of cash, volunteered for Moveon.org, and made thousands of phone calls to get the Democrats control of both houses in 06'
What the ***** did you do?
The Dems have the majority, they CONTROL the legislative calender. This bill, FISA, did not have to even come to the floor for a vote. Why because we control the majority.
So take your pathetic and novice understandings of Congress and shove it pal! - InfamousAtheist, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9"things aren't good or bad, they just are?"
That has to be one of the most meaningless, useless statements I've ever read.
With an attitude like that, I have to wonder why you decide to continue breathing every day. Because it's not right or wrong for you, it just "is." - NotAChickenHawk, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7So the number of people watching Olbermann somehow correlates to the accuracy of what he is saying?
- geddon, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9What would happen if Congress didn't listen to his warnings? Would they come true?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9Nah, Cheney's a scumbag, Bush is more of a drunken *****.
- FreakyD, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8Is there anything worse than a sneaky bush?
- ZenMojo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Yes, I have stopped to consider. Guess what, it's just bad.
- Focher, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6He's the Worst President Ever, but you gotta wonder why there is anyone left who thinks they can trust or work with him on anything whatsoever.
- kirstpo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6I think the fact that this administration has been so blatant about these illegal and immoral actions means that they know they can get away with it. The fact that those in congress, the whole presidential administration responsible for the last 7 years of ruin will either be unidentified as responsible, pay their way out of it, or pardon themselves with the power they abuse.
- Swift2, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Olbermann has been on the rise for a couple of years. He's the highest rated MSNBC show, by far. He's creeping up on the blowhard, O'Reilly. Last ratings, he beat O'Reilly in the 25-54 demographic. That's the one everybody wants, because they buy stuff.
Lowest rated show on prime time cable? Glenn Beck the creeptard. Right next to him is that prep school bowtie snarky kid. - charlestoN1, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6this isnt a NEW low
- scoobydoo84, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Jamesspaza,
Answered like a true coward that you are. Forget that the article is about a sitting president using a phony terror threat to scare the public into a vote. No disgust on your part about that, but you are more offended by Olberman. Its people like you that any society eventually collapses. You ***** ignorant, worthless, spineless, coward and traitor!! - writeman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Yeah, they all have people with opposing views on -- then don't let them talk. It's all for show.
- ...---..., on 10/10/2007, -0/+5It's kinda like the old mafia protection racket. You know, you pay up for "protection" or else the mafia comes back and breaks your kneecaps.
- ZenMojo, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6A smelly one.
- erasedgod, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6A better analogy is McDonalds and a local steakhouse. McDonalds and Fox News have way more customers than MSNBC and your local Steakhouse, but those customers are still swallowing ***** and loving it.
- Caffeinate, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5The one you didn't invite to the barbeque, but who shows up anyway and knocks the burgers out into the yard, pisses in the pool, drinks all the beer, punches your neighbor, and somehow manages to get in the back of Cheney's pickup leaving right before the cops show up and arrest everybody.
- snotrokit, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4show of hands now..... Who was really surprised about this? How many didn't see right through the crapola and pretty much know that this has all been trumped up pure indeed ***** from the get go? c'mon now, don't be shy.
My *****-O-meter has been pegged for a while with this administration. - theNazz, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4When people in Ohio are in jail for voting fraud in the state that gave Bush his second term there is no need to discuss conspiracy. There was voting fraud that tilted the election to the GOP and people are in jail for it. That is not a conspiracy, that is a rigged election.
- mlawrence, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Shhhhhocking!
- HigherLogic, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Eventually this all had to come back to the Democrats didn't it? I see what you're saying, but ultimately, why pass the blame off on them (much like Bush will be passing the war off to the next president).
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Many of us are active activist that stand behind the words we write. What have you done to participate in our government? What kid?
- syroncoda, on 10/10/2007, -6/+10awwww is the government lying and cheating to get their way? not like this is new or anything... been doing that since bush was "voted" into power almost 8 years ago.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Because they did not have to bring this bill to the floor! God Dammit you people are ignorant when it comes to the way the legislative process works.
We ***** won both houses. We have the power to stop the government. We do.
The Democrats are spineless ***** who will not stand up to these thugs! - Caffeinate, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4I don't think there is. The only thing useful left to do is cuff both of them, drag them out of the White House and stick them in a safe house until their trial.
Anything less, and you might as well just hand them your paycheck, your children's future, and bend over if they decide they would rather have you instead of your wife.
The sad part is, most of us just go get the vaseline, and pretend it isn't really happening. - christo90210, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4The current Australian Government has used this tactic to win the past 2 Australian elections.
- desqjockey, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Ok, un-clever one. He means: Would someone make them come true?
- Swift2, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4That's not true, and you're being a moron. They have had four or five votes to bring the troops home within a year or so. They have stood together. And then Bush vetoes it. So they need Republicans, at least 16 of them, to do it. Why don't they do that? They do enough semaphore and kabuki to imply that they'll vote with the Democrats if this, or if that. So the Democrats make their compromises, and boom. The deal's off. The latest of that shameful bunch was the illustrious Senator Warner, who told Sen. Webb that he would vote for the bill to give GIs as much time off as the time they served. He just needed this change or that. Webb made the changes, and then at the last minute, the jerk "changed his mind." He knew the facts: if Warner breaks with Bush, we would have had our veto-proof majority. So come off it. You're blaming the wrong party.
This same maneuver, by the way, was how the Republicans changed "timelines" to "benchmarks." They WERE going to vote with the Democrats, but oh, please, don't put in timelines. Give the "surge" six months, and then we'll judge whether to go on if the benchmarks are met. The non-partisan groups came back, no change. The Iraqis aren't meeting benchmarks. The level of violence and bloodshed hasn't changed. This year is the worst for US deaths, civilian deaths, and Iraqi soldiers and policemen. The real stats came out on Friday: even the Defense Department can't hide the fact that Petraeus shaved the facts. But why not? They got another 6 months out of it. 6 more months of death and destruction, with no hope for a good ending.
So turn your rage against the people who are doing it.
There's only one thing left: to stop funding the war. Hillary and Dobbs and a couple of others have said they won't vote for another money bill without a timeline for withdrawal.
In the end, the Democrats will win, because -- well, have you seen the party preference polls? If the election was held tomorrow, the Republicans would retain maybe 35 Senators.
Bush is tough, but you know, he's nuts. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Nothing more needs to be said . . . except, maybe something substantive.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Rush Limbaugh is that fat drug crazed turd still around?
- pintomp3, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3lying and cheating is almost part and parcel with politics, bush didn't event that. the administration has resorted to acts of terror to get their way.
- FreakyD, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3wtf?
- Swift2, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Oh, that's Doubleplusungood, comrade. You know that Big Bush is wise, and fair, and a man of God. He loves us as the lilies of the field. And we have always been the enemy of Iran, er, Iraq, er, North Korea. I'll have to report myself to the Party.
- BlacklabelSAR, on 10/10/2007, -0/+31. Don't worship authority
2. Don't live in denial - Sparkster185, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Tell that to 51% of America, bud.
- Swift2, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Time the Aussies grow up, too.
- Blasphemous88, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Bush granting himself additional power? Oh no. We must warn the Jedi about what comes next.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2A smart sneaky bush?
- cygnus2112, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2A bitter fruit tree.
- vornan19, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Yes, because he did it to fatten his wallet by killing Iraqi civilians.
