Corporate America has always used war to steal
nytimes.com — Corporate America has always used war to steal as much as they could. "Unless Congress closes a gaping hole in the law against war profiteering, companies ripping off taxpayers in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars may never be fully prosecuted. This is because the latest conflicts are not declared wars." Read on.

You both need to STFU. Diego Garcia is a resort more than a prison. And there is only 1 Airforce Unit in the world that spends more than 180 days there and even then the still rotate the personal every 180 days it's the aircraft that stay up to a year. And that is because of the region this Aircraft resides in the states. The Salty moisture of DG causes corrosion issues with the fuselage of this aircraft because of the special paint it has. Ladies and gentlemen, a typical rightard traitor. No morals, no ethics, and a willingness to cheer for crime and corruption.

- GrandmaSheila, on 07/09/2008, -12/+62Godwin's law is a ***** rhetorical device legitimated by Nazis and Nazi lovers, to stop people naming them for what they are: sociopaths, pillagers, and murderers. The "rationale", using the term very loosely, is that nothing anybody does could possibly be as bad, or worse, than what the Nazis did. But to assert that is an utter lie, as history demonstrates over and over again. "Nazis", in one form or another, are always with us, have always and forever been among us, and always will be. The Godwin dodge is camouflage, a ***** deflection, an evasion, and denial of truth. Naturally, it's used constantly by little bootlickers like key. They really need it these days.

"Godwin has argued that overuse of Nazi and Hitler comparisons should be avoided, because it robs the valid comparisons of their impact"
In other words ileen needs to stop running around calling everyone a nazi because it invalidates any point that she might have had.
Also for woman 'of a certain age' you sure have jack for world perspective. go to china then speak out against the government. then you will know what a police state really is. because you can't post stuff like this post in china with out catching a bullet to the dome.- ileen4justice, on 07/09/2008, -3/+16Point 1: I don't call everybody "Nazis" -- just those who are.......like Bush whose grandpa and daddy directly funded the Third Reich and who you sleep with.
Point 2: Have you been to China??? I've lived in a communist country when it was communist. I've confronted riot police, have you??
Point 3: While Hitler might have been more explicit with his hate of certain groups of people, you and the Bush crime family certainly base your faith and politics on pure HATE.
Point 4: Wake up and smell the fascism. Do you know the definition? Go look it up.
Point 5: Have you been to China and spoken up? What happens to every person who does? Does China spy on all their citizens and collect all their emails, search habits, where they used their credit card, their phone conversations? Well we do. 2)no and I call ***** on your claim to have protested in a communist country

4)you are the one who needs a dictionary - let me help you
fas·cism –noun
1. a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism.
Remember that your liberal congress keeps giving bush money for the war. He is not a dictator just because you say he is.
5)no I would never go some place know for suppressing dissidents and criticize the government. I like that we live in America and can say crazy ***** like BUSH IS A NAZI without reproach. And since your boy obama is just as complicit in allowing congress to take away our right you might one to change your profile pic. and the gitmo practices are close to what the Japanese used on us in WWII. In fact torture methodology has been around long enough that you don't need a hand book.
SO JUST GO AHEAD AND CALL ME A NAZI AGAIN YOU IGNORANUS - ileen4justice, on 07/09/2008, -2/+16As the 1983 American Heritage Dictionary noted, fascism is: "A system of government that exercises a dictatorship of the extreme right, typically through the merging of state and business leadership, together with belligerent nationalism." (Your definition is from the larger dictionary companies that have been bought up by multinational corporations.)
" If we define an American fascist as one who in case of conflict puts money and power ahead of human beings, then there are undoubtedly several million fascists in the United States. There are probably several hundred thousand if we narrow the definition to include only those who in their search for money and power are ruthless and deceitful. ... They are patriotic in time of war because it is to their interest to be so, but in time of peace they follow power and the dollar wherever they may lead."
"Still another danger is represented by those who, paying lip service to democracy and the common welfare, in their insatiable greed for money and the power which money gives, do not hesitate surreptitiously to evade the laws designed to safeguard the public from monopolistic extortion. American fascists of this stamp were clandestinely aligned with their German counterparts before the war, and are even now preparing to resume where they left off, after 'the present unpleasantness' ceases."
" The symptoms of fascist thinking are colored by environment and adapted to immediate circumstances. But always and everywhere they can be identified by their appeal to prejudice and by the desire to play upon the fears and vanities of different groups in order to gain power. It is no coincidence that the growth of modern tyrants has in every case been heralded by the growth of prejudice. It may be shocking to some people in this country to realize that, without meaning to do so, they hold views in common with Hitler when they preach discrimination..."
They claim to be super-patriots, but they would destroy every liberty guaranteed by the Constitution. They demand free enterprise, but are the spokesmen for monopoly and vested interest. Their final objective toward which all their deceit is directed is to capture political power so that, using the power of the state and the power of the market simultaneously, they may keep the common man in eternal subjection."
"The myth of fascist efficiency has deluded many people. ... Democracy, to crush fascism internally, must...develop the ability to keep people fully employed and at the same time balance the budget. It must put human beings first and dollars second. It must appeal to reason and decency and not to violence and deceit. We must not tolerate oppressive government or industrial oligarchy in the form of monopolies and cartels."
"...Out of this modern civilization, economic royalists [have] carved new dynasties.... It was natural and perhaps human that the privileged princes of these new economic dynasties, thirsting for power, reached out for control over government itself. They created a new despotism and wrapped it in the robes of legal sanction.... And as a result the average man once more confronts the problem that faced the Minute Man...."
~ Vice President Henry Wallace
You American fascists who would want former CEOs as President, Vice President, House Majority Whip, and Senate Majority Leader, and write legislation with corporate interests in mind, don't talk to We The People about their real agenda, or the harm it does to small businesses and working people. Instead, as Hitler did with the trade union leaders and the Jews, they point to a "them" to pin with blame and distract people from the harms of their economic policies.
Look up the definition for lemming.
Oh, and I was in a communist country facing riot police -- you are welcome to see my pictures if you wish. But first, you must rid yourself of your ignorance and hate. I will pray for you and give you all the love in my heart.... - mikesbaker, on 07/09/2008, -4/+3wow TLDR

the rest IMHO is your pontification and you seem to not be able to get it through your head that I am pretty much a libertarian. i voted green in 2k because I thought that Gore and Bush both suck. IN 2k4 I voted democrat. I'm more of a conservative libertarian. Not a Ron Paul nut job though.
Let me also point out this. Obama will win in a landslide. Then there will be a large influx of LEFT LEANING fascism (according to what you feel is fascism).
Also I am still calling BS on your protest story. What country? And post a pic in your profile for my viewing pleasure.

The 25 point Programme of the NSDAP

12. In view of the enormous sacrifices of life and property demanded of a nation by any war, personal enrichment from war must be regarded as a crime against the nation. We demand therefore the ruthless confiscation of all war profits.

War is a Racket
By General Smedley D. Butler
War is just a racket. There are only two things we should fight for. One is the defense of our homes and the other is the Bill of Rights. War for any other reason is simply a racket.
http://www.wanttoknow.info/warisaracket- Infidelcastr0, on 07/09/2008, -0/+9 "I spent 33 years and four months in active military service and during that period I spent most of my time as a high class muscle man for Big Business, for Wall Street and the bankers. In short, I was a racketeer, a gangster for capitalism. I helped make Mexico and especially Tampico safe for American oil interests in 1914. I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in. I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefit of Wall Street. I helped purify Nicaragua for the International Banking House of Brown Brothers in 1902-1912. I brought light to the Dominican Republic for the American sugar interests in 1916. I helped make Honduras right for the American fruit companies in 1903. In China in 1927 I helped see to it that Standard Oil went on its way unmolested. Looking back on it, I might have given Al Capone a few hints. The best he could do was to operate his racket in three districts. I operated on three continents."
- rz8472, on 07/09/2008, -0/+6The coincidence is that the only president who imposed anti-profiteering laws was also the one that was the target of the Business Plot - Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
He would probably be labeled as some sort of Red Socialist today who wants to do away with capitalism, stop innovation, and hates America. - Dukeye, on 07/10/2008, -0/+4War is A Racket, 'nuff said. - MarkEarhart, on 07/09/2008, -3/+25Yes and I am getting damn sick and tired of fools who try to say otherwise.
I am a born again Christian, but as you have noticed if you have been reading my comments I have an explosive temper. The "religious right," which I have never been a part of, is perhaps the most brainwashed bunch of people in the nation I am sad to say. I am neither categorically conservative or liberal, nor am I a moderate. I was enough of a rebel that I decided to think for myself, so I have acquaintances from one end of the classic political spectrum to the other.
One such person, who is a die hard Republican, just doesn't get it. We made an agreement that if one of us e-mailed the other one something that pissed us off we would just delete it for the sake of preserving our friendship. I was drawn to her by her screen name on the site I first ran across her on. She called herself "Granny .357, for obvious reasons.
Anyway, this woman sends me newsletters from Gary Bauer (spelling questionable), which I promptly delete because I can't stand to read the trash. He heads the American Family Values group. Here in the South, there is much talk about "family values" but I fail to see how that is a political issue. In fact I have heard related buzz words used to mesmerize conservative Christians until I tend to have fits when I hear such things.
Anyway if you want someone to spit venom at he is a worthy candidate. The letter my friend sent me yesterday had some BS about the "Success of the Surge." I didn't read the *****, but I do wonder what defines success in Iraq. Is it the amount of Americans killed and injured, the numbers of Iraqis killed and injured, or just a grand tally of all the carnage?
Now I've gotten myself all enraged again and my BP is going though the roof and my head feels like it is going to explode, so I'm going to take a break for a while.
The answer lies in financial gain for a select few, but I think they enjoy the killing too.- ileen4justice, on 07/09/2008, -2/+9Please take a deep breath my friend. I hear you so loud and clear. I like to remind myself of these biblical quotes (there is a difference I believe from those "Christians" that only talk about the apocalypse and those that focus on the sermon on the mount):
Amos 5:24 But let justice roll on like rivers, and righteousness like a mighty stream.
Proverbs 31:8-9 Speak out for those who cannot speak, for the rights of all the destitute. Defend the rights of the poor and needy.
Jeremiah 22:3 Thus says the LORD, "Do justice and righteousness, and deliver the one who has been robbed from the power of his oppressor. Also do not mistreat or do violence to the stranger, the orphan, or the widow; and do not shed innocent blood in this place.”
Ezekiel 45:9 'Thus says the Lord GOD, "Enough, you princes of Israel; put away violence and destruction, and practice justice and righteousness. Stop your expropriations from My people," declares the Lord GOD.
Micah 6:8 He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God?
Exodus 22:21 "You shall not wrong a stranger or oppress him, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.”
Psalm 72:4 May he vindicate the afflicted of the people, Save the children of the needy And crush the oppressor.
Isaiah 58:6 "Is this not the fast which I choose, To loosen the bonds of wickedness, To undo the bands of the yoke, And to let the oppressed go free And break every yoke?
Isaiah 58:7 "Is it not to divide your bread with the hungry And bring the homeless poor into the house; When you see the naked, to cover him; And not to hide yourself from your own flesh?
Jeremiah 7:5 "For if you truly amend your ways and your deeds, if you truly practice justice between a man and his neighbor,
Jeremiah 7:6 if you do not oppress the alien, the orphan, or the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place, nor walk after other gods to your own ruin,
Jeremiah 21:12 O house of David, thus says the LORD: "Administer justice every morning; And deliver the person who has been robbed from the power of his oppressor, That My wrath may not go forth like fire And burn with none to extinguish it, Because of the evil of their deeds.
Jeremiah 22:17 "But your eyes and your heart Are intent only upon your own dishonest gain, And on shedding innocent blood And on practicing oppression and extortion."
Micah 6:8 He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God?
Zechariah 7:9 "Thus has the LORD of hosts said, 'Dispense true justice and practice kindness and compassion each to his brother;
Zechariah 8:16 'These are the things which you should do: speak the truth to one another; judge with truth and judgment for peace in your gates.
Matthew 23:23 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cummin, and have neglected the weightier provisions of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness; but these are the things you should have done without neglecting the others. - jamesfaction, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1Getting mad to the point where you are overstressing yourself physically isn't the answer, obviously...
Finding a channel for your anger is the answer. There is so much injustice going on, the best thing you can do is find ways to combat the injustice, the ignorance, and bring justice and clear, rational, calm thinking to whatever the situation.
Yep, take a deep breath.
I've found that getting mad at my kid doesn't help either, and this is the kind of behaviour that easily translates from parenting to any demanding situation really: Staying calm and applying discipline where needed, supplying abundant love at all times.
It doesn't matter whether the problem child is 2 years old or 52.
- ileen4justice, on 07/09/2008, -2/+9Please take a deep breath my friend. I hear you so loud and clear. I like to remind myself of these biblical quotes (there is a difference I believe from those "Christians" that only talk about the apocalypse and those that focus on the sermon on the mount):
- flavioribeiro, on 07/09/2008, -0/+21With war clouds gathering just two years ago, the House International Relations Committee met on October 3, 2002 and Representative Ron Paul offered a motion to declare war on Iraq. He announced his intention to vote against his own measure because he didn’t believe our nation should go to war against Saddam Hussein’s regime. But he wanted to remind his colleagues that they alone possessed war-making power. If they wanted to go to war against Iraq, he reasoned, they should vote to declare war as required by the Constitution.
Committee Chairman Henry Hyde responded to Dr. Paul’s initiative with as clear a repudiation of the oath of office as has ever been uttered. He said, "There are things in the Constitution that have been overtaken by events and are no longer relevant to a modern society. Declaration of war is one of them. Your motion is inappropriate, anachronistic, and it isn’t done anymore." And that was that. The committee defeated Dr. Paul’s measure 45-0.

No one is questioning whether businesses seek profits, or even exploit situations for their greedy self-interest, but who cast the votes to begin with? CONGRESS! And we the people are all to blame for allowing it to happen. And it is going to happen again with Iran, and again, and again, and again until we the people get the United States government out of our lives and out of every other country in the world. There is one and only one SOURCE of power in this country, and those are the people that write the laws and carry the guns. - jamesfaction, on 07/15/2008, -0/+2yes I want to know the answer to that too. What is it about ileen's posts that you find "extremism"?

I really wish for more Americans to get a taste of what news is like outside of the US.
