- IrishJoe, on 09/19/2008, -13/+162That's why the Republican Politicians use fear to keep them voting for them. Fear fear fear the commies/terrorists/libruls are going to get you unless you vote for ME. Boo!

This is one of those research projects that has to be done even though the results are painfully obvious. - inactive, on 09/19/2008, -15/+126From the department of "No ***** Sherlock". Most Cons are either sheep or pants-wetting cowards. Usually both.
- zephyear, on 09/19/2008, -11/+95fear makes people vote republican?
well, i already knew that - inactive, on 09/19/2008, -18/+84No kidding.
GOP politics is cowardice driven politics.
Notice their connection with the NRA, a group of cowards so frightened they need guns just to feel like men.
Fear is a GOP emotion.
Fear drives their hatred of muslims, women, and gays.
Republican cowardice is most clearly illlustrated by the fact that warmongers like 03fightOn are too ***** to enlist in the wars they claim are vital to US survival.
Look at this loser's friends list. It's every rightard warmongering coward on digg. - tava0002, on 09/19/2008, -4/+55Karl Rove already knows this, hence, the last 8 years.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0430484/ - inactive, on 09/19/2008, -9/+57THis reminds me when I sent recruiters to my Bush-bot neighbor's house
It was hilarious. I walked outside to pick up my paper and watched as they walked up his drive past his display of 50 American flags and his Hummer all covered in little yellow magnets. As he answered the door his face turned the whitest white I have ever seen, especially with the contrast between his camo pants and shirt. Luckily the recruiters were able to catch him before he fell down his stairs and carry him back into the house. They had to be careful tho to avoid touching the huge wet stain that formed on the front of his pants.
Im going over there in a little bit to see how he's doing right after the ambulance leaves. - alappat1, on 09/19/2008, -3/+46what was so unsound about Habeous Corpus or the law requiring warrants before wiretapping?
Both were changed by the Republicans. And please don't tell me it helps catch terrorists.
The entire point of Habeous Corpus is to help determine if people are really terrorists by trying them in a court of law. This is what differentiates people who follow a law and thugs who arrest anyone who looks suspicious out of xenophobic fear, or fear mongering megalomania.
"Oh, he has anti-american views and hates Jews, he MUST be a terrorist" doesn't fly because one of the fundemental underpinnings of a 'free democracy' is freedom of thought. Yes he's an *****, but that doesn't prove ***** except that he needs to be educated a bit. If there was enough evidence proving intent and capability to cause harm, then the court will find it. This is also the underlying issue behind ' innocent until proven guilty'. Do you really want to start down the slippery slope that results in that idea being thrown out?
And warrents for wiretaps are usually issued ex-post; meaning one could do surveillance, but if in 24 hrs of starting that surveillance, a court order/warrant is not issued, then the evidence collected is thrown out. This discourages goverment employees from invading the privacy of people who have no terrorist connections but stand against the goals of those said employees. It prevents blackmail etc by providing a strong enough punishment to stop people who are tempted. - inactive, on 09/19/2008, -11/+52Well, it is easier to scare dumb people.
- zephyear, on 09/19/2008, -6/+47we're not
it's just she gives us so, so much ammo, so that's why you're seeing so many negative stories of her
why would we be worried when obamas back up +4 in national polls? - CedarPark, on 09/19/2008, -2/+42As a conservative, I was afraid of reading the article.
- Sonan, on 09/19/2008, -8/+46So you're saying low IQ leads to religion which causes fear which makes one a conservative Republican? Sounds plausible to me...
- inactive, on 09/19/2008, -4/+38OoooOOoooOooooohhh I'm the ghost of democracy
- Hetman, on 09/19/2008, -2/+35Obviously. They are willing to give over all their freedom for a little safety. And saying it is a little safety is an overstatment. You are more likely to die falling down the stairs than you are by a terrorist attack.

- cadmiumpaint, on 09/19/2008, -5/+35by very definition conservatives would be perfectly happy if nothing ever changed. They are afraid of progress.
- alappat1, on 09/19/2008, -2/+29Seems lke a logical view on things. Now the question is how do we get those conservative voters to get past their fear?

- beesaretasty, on 09/19/2008, -6/+22I'm about to blow your mind thisniss:
Fear causes people to vote Republican.
Republican leadership causes people to be afraid.

The pseudo-conservative is a man who, in the name of upholding traditional American values and institutions and defending them against more or less fictitious dangers, consciously or unconsciously aims at their abolition ... [He] sees his own country as being so weak that it is constantly about to fall victim to subversion; and yet he feels that it is so all-powerful that any failure it may experience in getting its way in the world ... cannot possibly be due to its limitations but must be attributed to its having been betrayed."
