- tradcath4ever, on 01/12/2008, -1/+9Gee, I wonder if these employers are paying payroll taxes and if the workers are paying federal, state, and medicare taxes. No wonder the Employers like it! Where are the unions? What if one of the illegals has an accident on a job--are they covered under the Employer's Workmans Compensation Insurance? If Employers use these illegals, then I guess they don't have to carry workman's compensation Insurance. SAD, SAD, day in America where we kiss illegal feet and abandon our own citizens. God help up all.
- inactive, on 01/12/2008, -1/+7This is a good illustration of what will happen most everywhere in our nation if Hillary, Obama, et al, are put in charge.
- DesertDad, on 01/12/2008, -0/+6I am a single parent and one of my children has a permanent disability which renders us effectively red-lined from health insurance. I am not (yet) below the assorted qualification levels, so we are not eligible for any federal or state assistance.
Will someone tell me why I need to remain a law-abiding and productive citizen when the federal, most state, and now many municipal governments flaunt the law in the face of us the citizens and taxpayers?
Will someone tell me why I cannot receive like compensation from these government agencies? The evident cost of illegals is approximately $22,000 per illegal per year. That is the government services cost. Arizona has just identified the total statewide cost of depressed wages and spending power is in the billions. If the illegals and their employers have the right to do this to us, where are our rights?
If the government and NGOs refuse to comply with the law, then lawsuits against them are in order. Is not the vehicle of citizen's arrest available to us? That forces attention and will get action. What of those states which permit citizen-initiated grand juries? They should be able to generate action. Is not the posse comitatus available when there is a breakdown in law enforcement?
These vehicles can be employed at will, at any time. The current election cycle provides a timely vehicle to participate in and get the attention of government.
The next alternatives are provided by the Second Amendment. Those in government who have forgotten it need to be reminded that the second amendment is not for our protection from criminals, it is for our protection from criminal government. - mcrunch2, on 01/12/2008, -0/+6I wonder if the federal government is happy about not getting their taxes? Perhaps we can all decalare ourselves to be non-citizen so we don't have to pay taxes - or just sign up for that great penalty of $2000 that wipes out 5 years of taxes! What about all the others in the community who want to work but can't since the legislators MANDATED such a high minimum wage and these people can work for anything under the table? We don;'t need to supply welfare for all many countries south of the border - they need to fix their laws and their economies.
Americans need work too. - Ruler4you, on 01/12/2008, -0/+5Clearly a blatant manipulation and irresponsible use of tax revenues by people who have an agenda. It couldn't be more clear if they wrote their intent down before hand. Key to the effort though is the absolute dependence on Americans to do nothing about it. And guess what? They aren't. Surprise.
Abdication of the duties and responsibilities of an American citizen for decades all the while holding out your hand for government subsidies has demonstrably weakened not only our government at every level but our society has suffered greatly as well. Also loosing is truth, honor and integrity. With out these no society can stand. We are on wobbly legs with a 'mind' (government) so confused with a dysfunctional fog of self aggrandizement that collapse is eminent. I'd suggest getting prepared for the aftermath of the dissolution of three things: 1). A change of government structure ; 2). The change of our economy including currency : 3). The change of the social structure as we presently understand it. And good luck to you. - gunjam, on 01/12/2008, -1/+6If we had a functional Federal Government, these city officials (and those abetting them, i.e., agents of the Roman Catholic Church), would be investigated, indicted, convicted, and imprisoned.
- egalicki, on 01/12/2008, -0/+5These so-called Christian approaches to this problem are somewhat misguided and misinformed. There is clear instruction in the bible that we must obey the laws of the land, as long as they are just and right -
Titus 3
1 Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates
And instructions are to obey what is written, and not to what we feel is right. Remember, in the garden, the result of the refusal to obey God's instructions and not eat of that tree was not that it would be original sin and they would be guilty, but that they would start to determine what would be good and what would be evil. Read it for yourself. This is still the root of all problems today.
With no source of absolute truth, all things are left up to what people believe to be true or correct, and every person seems to have a different view.
Just because someone believes something is right, does not necessarily mean it is right. - gunjam, on 01/12/2008, -0/+5I agree: But frankly I don't see anyone with the courage to rise up in this fashion. Talk is cheap. Tragically, the ones with the most courage are the illegals and Islamofascisti! (That is why our corrupt and cowardly leaders are aligning themselves with these enemies within.) Let's admit it: The best of us (e.g., the people posting on this thread) are unhappy serfs. The rest are mindless sheeple, who think life is great if they can watch Oprah or NFL games and have a beer. Our country has been taken over by the forces of evil. It will only get worse. I don't see a Ronald Reagan on the horizon, and even Reagan did little more than SLOW the PACE of our country's decent into history's trashbin. He did nothing, for instance, about tightening our borders, eliminating the IRS, eliminating the Federal Reserve system, privatizing Social Security, etc. It is far later than most of us realize.
- inactive, on 01/13/2008, -0/+4The guatamallan should tell the rest ofhis ignorant family to stop having children (6) that they cannot afford or feed. Get the hell out of my country and go back to your home. You are not wanted here if you insist upon ly8ing, cheating, stealing your way here. You are nothing more than a disgusting criminal that needs to go to jail for a few years then get deported.
- inactive, on 01/12/2008, -1/+5The stupid and cowardly citizens of this country deserve everything that is being shoved down their throats. Welcome to the Socialist States of America sheeple.
- inactive, on 01/13/2008, -0/+3It would appear that the citizens of Jupiter are nothing but cowards and most of all, stupid. These citizens should band together and stop paying their taxes to the criminal city leaders. It is time to take a stand to stop this socialist crap. Your stupid useless vote is a joke. The leaders are going to do what they want to do with your dime. The citizens of some town or city have to take a hard lined stand at some point or we are going to be destroyed by the corrupt politicians. You can only poke a rattlesnake so many times before it strikes. You better wake up sheeple.
- lccat, on 01/13/2008, -0/+3Once again the politicians and their contributors consider United States and Florida citizens only as “units of labor” and the sooner we become a Third World Country the better for their “bottom line”! Our elitist politicians and their elitist political contributors will not be happy until they transform the United States into a Third World Country for most of our citizens while furnishing the Chamber of Commerce and all their Elitist Special Interest Groups with their supply of “cheap labor”. The politicians and their Elitist Contributors are providing “benefits” to the ILLEGALS on the backs of United States and Florida citizens through our assets such as the Education System, Social Security, and Health Care not to mention our National Security while “privatizing”* the profits for themselves!
- mrpetey, on 01/13/2008, -0/+3I wasn't going to write much until reading the last paragraph. Did mr. castillo come here legally? NO - so yes he is a delinquent.
I am also insulted with this crap of "jobs american's wont do". What crap!!!!!!! More like a bunch of people who think WORK is beneath them and will bitch and moan that their welfare checks make it hard to make ends meet. There are a lot of hard working Americans can do landscaping, cleaning, etc. and do just a good a job if not better then some illegal alien. - sphira, on 01/14/2008, -0/+2Hmm
I look at the demographics of Jupiter and find it is almost 90% white. Why then would they want this for their community I wonder. I find the most probable answers are:
1) Many residents are transplanted New Englanders of a very liberal slant. "Snowbirds" who are well to do rich folk with vacation or second homes in this community. This lifestyle, of course, requires many landscapers and gardening laborers. Why would they want to cut off their source of cheap labor for the sake of a little thing called America?
2) I see many Hollywood types and celebrities were born in Jupiter. I would imagine some remain active in the community politicking, and liberal causes. Celine Dion maybe, since she was born there?
3) Considering this is the location of a court fight in 1999 involving Jupiter resident George Andres, his desire to display an American flag in his front yard, and the resulting sale of his home by the homeowners association to cover their legal expenses after winning the right in court to prevent him from displaying that American flag. Some of you all may remember that one!

Can anybody else think of any other reasons a 90% white community would want this "day laborer center"? - lccat, on 01/13/2008, -0/+2nutz2u2, It's already going on with the Bushwacker and his gang!
- inactive, on 01/13/2008, -0/+2Tell the city fathers in Jupiter that you will no longer pay sales taxes. (They are on the seller not the buyer anyway). See how they like having some of their money supply stopped just like you citizens have had some ofyour rights tromped on. We need new government folks. Vote and vote out all incumbants.
- inactive, on 01/13/2008, -0/+2Just had an idea, supposing some lawn contracting firm charges a set price to mow someone's lawn and he is using illegals for some chump-change labor price to do the work. It wouldn't be too hard to see how many illegals he is hiring by those who watch the place and it wouldn't be too hard to figure out how much profit he is getting. Follow him around and see how many lawns get mowed too.
Now comes the fun part, find out his ssan or federal tax id number and send in a 1099 to the IRS for a few hundred thousand dollars for his tidy profit. Wonder if someone who is hiring the illegals is truly paying their fair share to Uncle Sam? How much do you want to bet HE IS CHEATING ON HIS TAXES TOO.
