  • Zacktopia, on 04/06/2008, -0/+2Christianity is between 600 and 1300 years ahead of Islam in its evolution away from barbarism. Yellowcake's comment is revealing in that it refers to what may now be called ancient history.

    Islam appears more resistant to civil concepts such as tolerance of diversity, equal standing for women, etc. Absent the mitigating effect of relations with more powerful Western nations, its actually quite difficult to tell if the Muslim Empire has progressed beyond the savage mass murdering barbarism of its earliest days.
