- inactive, on 02/20/2009, -3/+32Harry Reid should have stuck to his guns and not seated a Blagojevich appointee in the first place. Reid backed down after the race card was played.
- eco57, on 02/20/2009, -1/+28I think I just heard Blago's howls of hysterical laughter all the way down here in Texas.
- inactive, on 02/20/2009, -2/+22The Republicans had full control for six years, but scandal for scandal, I think the Dems are trying to outdo them in their first 30 days.
- inactive, on 02/20/2009, -0/+14A man who worked vehemently as a DA to keep an innocent and now exonerated man in prison for a crime he didn't commit has no place in the US Senate. Even his lead prosecutors asked him to drop the case. He's a black Mike Nifong and needs to go immediately.
- onyxraven1979, on 02/20/2009, -10/+21And they expected what from a Chicago politician?
- cntlscrut, on 02/20/2009, -0/+10Burris' career is the equivalent to getting a doctorate online. worthless. he says people are trying to ruin his career but, your career is not public service. it's see how positions i can get and never actually have any specialties or areas of expertise...
- inactive, on 02/20/2009, -0/+10Right on, docbob. It's cool to see an Obama supporter honest enough to admit they're scratching their head right now, just as I will be more than glad to admit it if I'm proven wrong about the guy. I honestly would love to vote Democrat for my very first time in 2012, because it will mean we had a good four years.
But here I am, I'm getting my taxes together and I'm getting squeezed, I don't even know how I'm going to get the money together to pay what I owe because it's been a tough year and all I can keep thinking of is, we have a tax cheat at the head of the IRS. What the hell???
Is this change we can believe in? - inactive, on 02/20/2009, -0/+8Then
Do. Not. Reply. - docbob84, on 02/20/2009, -0/+8It's embarrassing, really. I don't consider myself a diehard Democrat, but I'm from Illinois, and I worked hard to get my (very conservative) family to vote for Obama. We all hated Blago, though, so don't hold him against us. :P And while I still think Obama was the better choice, and he hasn't given me any big reason to regret my decision yet, I do think he's making some bad choices. What's with all of the tax evasion and corruption we've been seeing? I thought that was the "other party".
- PhairOh, on 02/20/2009, -0/+7I think you both should look up the definition of a hypocrite.
- Tubal22, on 02/20/2009, -0/+7LOL @ Harry Reid & Nancy Pelosi.
Harry Reid: I just seated a Black Senator from Illinois. Sure he was appointed by a govenor who was just impeached for trying to sell the senate seat. But he's just so cute.
Nancy Pelosi: So what. I just met the pope. Screw you. - lava, on 02/20/2009, -0/+7Harry Reid should step down, he's weak and he's bringing down the Democratic party. Blago called his bluff and he didn't have the balls to follow up on his threat.
- AlterLite, on 02/20/2009, -1/+7So I guess the ministers (Jackson, Sharpton, et. al.) who supported Burris will call for another black candidate to take his place. I mean, since the seat was held by Obama, it has to be held by a black person until the end of eternity. </sarcasm>
- MacEnvy, on 02/20/2009, -0/+6Haha, pwned by the edit timer.
- ZetaVu, on 02/20/2009, -0/+4Actually I don't want him to resign, I want him impeached, if he is allowed to resign he can pretend he did it because he's such a great team player. Then he can put Senator on his monument. If he's impeached then he can't spin it.
- evilpolitians, on 02/21/2009, -0/+4He and the Democratic party.
- newman328, on 02/20/2009, -1/+5Do you think if he was a Republican people in the comments would be like "Take his blood!", "He's a scumbag, a dumb, Christian scumbag!", or would they find a way to blame it on Bush? Which one would you pick?
- Number23, on 02/20/2009, -5/+9Obama is really stumbling out of the blocks.
- relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -0/+3What the *****? Then don't post a comment, idiot.
- ZetaVu, on 02/20/2009, -0/+3Burris and Blago will do more to hurt the Democrats than all the dirty tricks the lame remnants of the republican party could ever hope to muster. Burris should never been allowed to sit, the Illinois legislature should have immediately called a special election to prevent Blago from appointing anyone, but they were afraid a republican might win. Now that is all but assured. I suspect when all is said and done, Burris' monument to himself will be one of the most vandalized tombstones in Chicago.
- inactive, on 02/20/2009, -1/+4"THUMBS DOWN!", Roger Ebert.
- redslash, on 02/20/2009, -0/+3If Reid wasn't such a COWARD, the impeachment would already have taken place.
Yeah, I just did ALL CAPS for coward.
Cause all caps on the internet means it's super true. - o3man, on 02/20/2009, -0/+3It's about TIME! That crrrook was claiming that -people were against him being a senator - NO $hit sherlock!
- Jonas007, on 02/20/2009, -0/+3Sad part is he's probably the most honest Democrat to come out of Illinois in years.
- sonofthebrave, on 02/21/2009, -0/+2Shocker! Another corrupt politician from Chicago but he should feel at home as most in Congress are just like him or worse. Most in Congress should resign as they have stolen trillions of dollars from the American people.
- stuffradio, on 02/20/2009, -3/+5A president like Obama :)
- inactive, on 02/20/2009, -0/+2That's because Reid is a spineless pussy.
- insomniacal, on 02/20/2009, -0/+2The audacity of these people to dig their fingernails into "public service" positions while their "constituents" demand their resignation. Illinois breeds 'em _nasty_.
- blindhammer, on 02/20/2009, -0/+2I think it's awesome that he has a monument to himself already. Don't you wish you had a monument of yourself?
- evilpolitians, on 02/21/2009, -0/+2Just so long as he leaves, I don't care what he puts on his tombstone. Illinois has become the laughingstock of politics (save Obama of course)
- Landthatilove, on 02/22/2009, -0/+1Harry Reid does what he;s told to do. Do you really believe he thinks?
- theuber1337, on 02/22/2009, -0/+1Yeah, because 1/100th of your representation in the government doesn't matter when we live in a partisan two party state, right?
- thebaron2, on 02/20/2009, -0/+1I don't think there are any Republicans in Chicago.
- stuffradio, on 02/20/2009, -2/+3Why am I getting buried already? Obama is from Chicago, everyone says he's great (I'm not saying he is or isn't), the expectation from a Chicago politician is that they should be as good as Obama is.
- inactive, on 02/21/2009, -0/+1Rohm Emanual?
- Nickolassc, on 02/22/2009, -0/+1You didn't happen to invent the internet while being SUPER cerial did you?
- Tubal22, on 02/20/2009, -0/+1Illinois politics reminds me of 'The Wire'
- Nickolassc, on 02/22/2009, -0/+1A little bit of both I suppose.
- Nickolassc, on 02/22/2009, -0/+1@PhairOh, Have you looked it up? :D
- inactive, on 02/21/2009, -0/+1Yes
- inactive, on 02/21/2009, -0/+1Your taxes are going up, and Obama is appointing tax dodgers. WTF
- evilpolitians, on 02/21/2009, -0/+1There aren't. Last Republican mayoral candidate I remember was a clown. Wait. They are all clowns...
- inactive, on 02/21/2009, -0/+1At least nominate people who pay their taxes
- inactive, on 02/21/2009, -0/+1Perjury should be investigated and prosecuted! Resignation is too good for this crook and liar!
- evilpolitians, on 02/21/2009, -1/+1It was an editorial. Learn the difference.
- inactive, on 02/20/2009, -1/+1I think by saying he doesn't care, the implication is, neither should we.
- lolwutpear, on 02/22/2009, -0/+0not sure if this is some sort of obama jab or not...
- gkiltz, on 02/21/2009, -0/+0Just because the SOMETIMES "Calls For " Something, that does not mean it should happen!
If they would only let the truth stand in the way of a good story!
Maybe SOMETIMES! - cntlscrut, on 02/20/2009, -0/+0... yeah it would be much more interesting if maybe they would B&B (Blegoviashhdsbas and Burris) fighting zombies and dinosaurs. that would be awesomes!
