- Babblin5, on 07/15/2008, -5/+18I think he just likes to test things out personally before he gives them the O.K...
- demonic, on 07/15/2008, -6/+35what I find weird is that alot of people complain about this and all the facts are their to prosecute people in the US GOV for all manner of wrong doings, yet not one person is actually doing anything about it. Why is this?
- NinjaBoy, on 07/15/2008, -1/+19the government is a self supported group. The only way to take them down would be to have the government go after....the government. The only time we kinda matter is during elections, and still not all that much. Its sad, but they have the guns. We CANT revolt against them and hope to win. Not while they have the guns AND the media.
- eggballs, on 07/15/2008, -0/+6No, we can. And if it gets bad enough (e.g., gas too high to drive), we will.
- dubhousing, on 07/15/2008, -1/+9Ahem ... setting the apocalyptic libertarian justification aside, I think politicians are politicians, and the impeachment route is so politically sensitive (although I favored Kucinich's move) that they get scared off. It's our own laziness, fear of minorities and immigrants, and desire to live in massive homes -- along with the government's subsidy for road construction and maintenance, and certification of home loans -- that causes our over-reliance on gas; people complaining about gas being too high, where (some of them) have enabled the government to cause the price to spike, and others are addicted to it like crack, is fairly ironic.
- toyrifle1, on 07/15/2008, -0/+0Viva la Gassolution! ..or not?
- Hangly, on 07/15/2008, -0/+2Why can we not have guns and media as well?
- Jlaugh, on 07/16/2008, -0/+1We have the interwebs.
- DreKor, on 07/15/2008, -0/+8Because the only way for an individual to effect immediate change is to shoot them. And that creates all kinds of red tape and paper work.
- Changa, on 07/15/2008, -0/+9Because the people in charge learned the lessons of Watergate.

- dupswapdrop, on 07/15/2008, -5/+20I think any meeting with old deadeyedick would be highly unusual.
- Jlaugh, on 07/16/2008, -0/+2Did Dick Cheney go to evil medical school?
- InfamousAtheist, on 07/15/2008, -6/+56I truly hope justice is one day served on Dick Cheney, war criminal extraordinaire.

- malex, on 07/15/2008, -0/+2It's a quote from Jane Mayer.

- Hangly, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1I kind of imagined them jerking each other off, but yeah.
- VitriolAndAngst, on 07/16/2008, -0/+2That is more true that funny.
First we have to understand what their rationale was for this program at all. When we find out it was from a Chinese torture program, designed to get false confessions -- it kind of makes sense. But the addition of all the sexual abuse, and the video taping kind of add a twist.
Look at all the stories of neocon politicos who get caught in freaky illegal sex acts around the world. I'm thinking what bonds some of these people at the top is a very exclusive Eyes Wide Shut group. And Abu Ghraib is just a symptom of a larger problem.
And then we need to remember the Hookers and Poker at the Watergate hotel. And enough other strange events that could fill a book.

- ericjohnson0, on 07/15/2008, -2/+1For anyone who is curious, Barack 'That's just how white folks will do you' Obama did indeed say that. Right here, in his own words:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lI77cU3jsFs- triad203, on 07/16/2008, -0/+1It's his voice, but not his words. It IS, however, accurate. 40 acres and a mule indeed.
- reland1, on 07/15/2008, -1/+1I guess they bury their heads like they bury the diggs..too bad..great informative video, Eric
- nblsavage, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1That is a quote from Rev. Wright's audiobook that Obama narrated
- ericjohnson0, on 07/15/2008, -2/+1For anyone who is curious, Barack 'That's just how white folks will do you' Obama did indeed say that. Right here, in his own words:
- Quenlin, on 07/15/2008, -6/+5It's spelled S-H-I-T. Buried for thinking that censoring 25% of a word makes it 25% less offensive. Also buried for censoring it in the first place, and buried because I wanna bury something that isn't living for a change.
- rvandy, on 07/15/2008, -3/+7Cheney's mindset hasn't changed from the Cold War, when people like him claimed we were at war with an idea - communism. He has just substituted another idea, terrorism, for communism. The actual military threat posed by the Soviet Union escalated in reaction to our own military buildup, until it reached a point where each side could destroy the entire world. The Soviet Union's economy collapsed because the entire state apparatus was geared towards its military, and they didn't have the economic capability to sustain that amount of spending on something from which you get no return.
Terrorism, however, cannot be outspent. It is a tactic, and a very cheap one at that. Cheney isn't interested in saving the lives of Americans, he's interested in maintaining a continuous, military presence in the Middle East. The expense, of course, falls to ordinary Americans - in the form of taxes, debt, crumbling infrastructure, and in the case of soldiers, their lives. - bunghole999, on 07/15/2008, -2/+10"Impeachment is off the table" - Nancy "Puppet" Pelosi

- VitriolAndAngst, on 07/16/2008, -0/+2Yes, everything we drop a bomb on, or cartoon we or someone else makes, is definitely Al Qaeda.
How many al Qaeda were in Iraq before 2003? Zero.

- tufftugg, on 07/15/2008, -2/+2 The war on terror has been a disgrace of the U.S. Administration. Not that anything has been even close to a success by this present U.S. Administration. Anyone who thinks it has in any idea it has had, is no doubt a simpleton!!

Ok, I'll stop. But you Moonbats are batsh*t crazy insane about Cheney... give it a rest.- Intercon, on 07/15/2008, -1/+3It's difficult to see where you are coming from. A child could see that Dick Cheney is scum of the worst possible sort: smart, mean, and drunk on enormous power. His greed and violent ambition are evident at every turn and with every lie, manipulation, and crime that he commits.
I'll give it a rest when he does. And to you for knocking the people trying to bring this situation to light, you, sir, are worse than him: namely a coward and ignorant man at best; a like-minded and dangerously insane sociopath who is somehow benefitting from the current administration's ministrations at worst. Be ashamed, sir, and correct your ways if you truly love this country and its citizens.

- Voodoobones, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1Wait a minute, are they saying that Dick's daughter isn't the only gay one in the family? I figured he was in to bondage but not torture. Oh well, to each his own.
- skews13, on 07/15/2008, -0/+2it seems as though unusual ***** is the norm for cheney everytime he has a meeting with somebody. remember his meetings behind closed doors with the heads of the energy companies, and the unusual ***** of rolling blackouts in california, and other western states started occuring shortly there afterwards?

- soinie, on 07/16/2008, -0/+1What kind of sick individual gets all bitchy and snarly when someone tells him it's against international law to use torture during interrogation?
- bshock, on 07/16/2008, -0/+2Ever have the suspicious that Cheney brings home torture reports, and late at night sneaks into the bathroom to read them while he masturbates?
- BUI2008, on 07/20/2008, -0/+0I don't think Mr. Cheney has ever worked as an Intelligence professional, businessman yes, politician yes, but he doesn't know anything about the collection or analysis of information. Torture doesn't work. It's great at punishing people for crimes, forcing false confessions, and has been used by countless regimes to instill fear in their populace. It has absolutely no place in a democratic society. If it is allowed to pass muster, then I fear we shall be all the worse for it. I am a two time veteran of Iraq, and I have written a book dealing with this theme. If you want to read why I wrote the book go here:

Sorry for the shameless self promotion, but I want to get my ideas out there and believe this to be an important piece of contemporary literature.
