Carville: Obama likely to win nomination
politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com — James Carville has been one of Hillary Clinton's most energetic defenders, but on Monday he all but declared Barack Obama will become the Democratic nominee for president.

- kdawg1012, on 05/13/2008, -3/+13Sounds as if the "fat lady" is getting ready to sing.
- doctorfungi, on 05/14/2008, -0/+2Sounds more like she's going to drop out of the race.
- Raisedshoulder, on 05/14/2008, -0/+2Don't you mean the "pantsuit lady" is getting ready to sing?
- BishkekBuddy, on 05/13/2008, -4/+12No, kdawg, the fat lady has been singing for a while - it's just that Carville finally went to get his hearing aid fixed.
- CicurateGroup, on 05/14/2008, -0/+1I have to admit, that is some funny ***** Mr. BishkekBuddy. Many diggs to you!
- AAK15, on 05/13/2008, -3/+3One down, one to go
- thirdcoastborn, on 05/13/2008, -5/+9sounds like he's now a judas to his own candidate
- jforjools, on 05/13/2008, -4/+9Aye, Judas!
...But I did see he's going to give his 50 pieces of silver to the opponent. (He said he'd write a check anyway, when the nomination is officially wrapped up.)
Carville--I almost don't recognize you without the loopy-loop banter you're so good at whipping up!- jforjools, on 05/13/2008, -2/+3This is the second time I've been dug down for a not-too-controversial Carville remark.
Really? Am I dugg down cuz my remark was not nasty enough? Surely, it couldn't be because my comment was *too* nasty. --? - Gemfinder, on 05/13/2008, -1/+1Pony up, Jimmy. $2300, cash or bank draught.
BTW, if it's the former, be sure to mark "Obama For President" on the bills in permanent ink. - CanIGetAWitness, on 05/14/2008, -1/+3I think it was 30 pieces of silver, maybe you are being dugg down for that? I'll digg you up for effort though.
- romistrub, on 05/14/2008, -1/+1As stated above my motogoat... NOT a judas. No betrayal involved.

- jlee2081, on 05/13/2008, -1/+5it's about time, stupid
- MotherGinSling, on 05/13/2008, -2/+2Hell must have frozen over. Who woulda thunk it.
- firewound, on 05/13/2008, -1/+3I can't believe it's taken this long
- IrishJoe, on 05/13/2008, -1/+2And to think, James, he beat your candidate with only one cajone. Carville said that Hillary had 3 nuts and Obama only had one, but Carville didn't mention that he was one of the three. I guess Wright was Obama's.
- selmer, on 05/14/2008, -1/+5And still...HRC is getting WAY too much ***** publicity over West Virginia. The ENTIRE reason for staying in is to question his electability? And he has a 95+% chance of securing the nomination? (anyone with an abacus can tell you that) So therefore, this bitch is actually trying to prove that the democratic candidate is unelectable? What the ***** is her problem?
- PhireN, on 05/14/2008, -0/+1Thats the mainstream media for you.
- elshizzo, on 05/14/2008, -1/+1eh, this isn't news. I think any Clinton supporter would agree that Obama is the "likely" nominee. The question isn't who is "likely" the nominee [everyone knows its Obama], the question is has Obama sealed the nomination.
- zardoz73, on 05/14/2008, -1/+2In the past month, I thought that Hillary had some kind of strategy, some kind of secret weapon. She IS a very smart woman and understands the math, and understands she's behind, but I just thought she had some sort of surprise for everyone that would pull her ahead of Obama.
But no. There's nothing. Just a campaign that's still barrelling along at 100 mph and no one, especially Hillary, wants to put on the brakes. It's hard to do, I imagine. So it's a mix of inertia and fatal narcissism on Hillary's part. Her only hope is to wait and hope that Obama screws up in a major way in the next couple of weeks, which is really low, even for a politician. She's in vulture mode, something I'm surprised more commentators haven't picked up one.
She's already damaged herself, the party and Obama to an undetermined degree, she's just got to keep her mouth shut and stop saying stupid ***** until she bows out.
And she WILL bow out. Maybe she'll wait all the way to the convention, but it will happen. - mooseontheloose, on 05/14/2008, -3/+4Presumptive nominee and he still gets DEMOLISHED by Clinton this late in the game? Hah. Really strong candidate.
- Fordi, on 05/14/2008, -0/+1Clinton needed a 76% win to catch up. She got 71% (and her prediction was 80%). Despite 'winning', she failed to win strongly enough.
Which was, of course the target; even the most modest predictions for this race had her at around 68%.
Anyways, her win in WV gave her a 12 delegate gain. Out of the 129 delegate deficit she was suffering. 'Demolished' is not the word for it. Closer to 'Death rattle'

- doctorfungi, on 05/14/2008, -0/+2Anyone well versed in politics knows that Hilary cannot possibly win the nomination. Those who are well versed, yet seem to think she can win, are simply in denial.
- CicurateGroup, on 05/14/2008, -0/+2True to the Clinton playbook, he runs for cover at the last minute to save his own ass. Carville is a total pussy who deserves to get his salad tossed in prison!!
- zenithmbr, on 05/14/2008, -0/+1well no ***** *****, maybe it has something to do with his 150 delegate lead??
- whiterice0, on 05/14/2008, -0/+1Hey folks, have you seen this Digg story? Kinda funny how it got 203 diggs, 59 comments, but it was never made popular, huh? http://digg.com/tech_news/Digg_vs_Diggers_Corrupti ...
- suzywang3000, on 05/14/2008, -0/+1I can't frigging stand James Carville
- pyro12, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1"he Southern States will never vote for someone of his kind"
Please tell me you weren't implying what I think you're implying. Either way you might want to go back to the 16th century.
