- angrykeyboarder, on 01/12/2009, -17/+68Bush = Pathetic Loser.
Remember the Google Bomb "miserable failuire"? That was from 6 years ago...
Nothing has changed. Goodbye Dubya and good riddance! - risenphoenixkai, on 01/13/2009, -8/+47As a word, "disappointment" doesn't quite go far enough to describe the past 8 years.
"*****" seems far more appropriate. - ikeeel4money, on 01/12/2009, -9/+46this is your farewell kiss you dog
http://i40.tinypic.com/2058j7t.jpg - AllButOneDay, on 01/12/2009, -14/+45Bush was disappointed there wasn't any WMD's in Iraq.
What an *****. - Dumbledorito, on 01/13/2009, -1/+31Wait for him to start at least one pointless war, leave trillions for said war off of the budget, politicize the DoJ, declare every embarrassment a state secret, and destroy the English language every time he opens his mouth. Then, we'll talk.
- Murdats, on 01/13/2009, -6/+31someone doing absolutely nothing would be much better
- dn11, on 01/13/2009, -0/+23must be nice to be born into wealth and privilege and utterly fail at every massive opportunity you've ever been given. where can I sign up fro that kind of success. Bush says history will judge him? I'm quite sure it won't be pretty. The Bush era will either be seen as the beginning of the end of America's dominance and leadership in the world, or the moment it very nearly took that nosedive. Failure is not adequate to describe the last 8 years
- cmost, on 01/13/2009, -2/+24"Bush's Last Press Conference: Full of Disappointment"
Funny, the same could be said about his entire eight years in office! Only problem is that nobody's laughing, - gijoeler, on 01/13/2009, -2/+21I supported the George W. Bush that campaigned in 2000 about a humble foreign policy and the fact that it shouldn't be America's duty to nation build/police the world. I supported the war in Afghanistan and I remember numerous people feeling similarly after we were hit on 9/11. We wanted Osama Bin Ladens head and the majority of Americans supported this sentiment at the time. Now i'm starting to realize that even if we are attacked, waging large wars and spending billions of dollars overseas might not be the best solution for us in the long run. Plus, through our military presence in the Middle East we are making it easier for people like Bin Laden to recruit extremists to his cause. We played right into his hand essentially. The war in Iraq was an utterly baffling decision though. Because we failed in finding WMD's, the Bush administration spun things so that we were victorious because we eliminated a tyrannical dictator who was mass murdering his own people. (Saddam never had any intention of harming the U.S., his aims were on the Kurds). Bush would claim we are liberators. Mr. Bush, if it is American concern to come to the rescue of innocent people being victimized around the world, how can you support what Israel is doing in Gaza right now? (Israel will always have pestulant terrorists refusing to accept it's right to exist, but it needs to accept that and move towards a two state solution. Palestinians want peace, trust me! Carpet bombing innocent civilians plays right into Hamas' hand and moves in a direction away from peace.) Does Bush respect human life? I think the majority of us would agree that isn't the case. George Bush abused his power and went empire building; while keeping the influential people behind him rich. Sorry for the rant, but I'm ***** pissed.
- PeaTearGryphon, on 01/13/2009, -5/+23We'll be paying for his "disappointments" years after even Obama leaves the white house
- inactive, on 01/13/2009, -0/+16I dunno about you, but i'd rather live my life happily and be good at what I do, instead of the worst president in history. So no, he hasn't accomplished more at all. If anything, he accomplished less by sucking so much.
- MemorabIename, on 01/13/2009, -2/+17Typical. It's like when they were all buddy-buddy with Hitler back in '38, but then they just left him in the dirt when people got all sensitive and uppity about his personality. Time bailed on their greatest pal when gossip struck. It's a damn shame. They turned their back on Stalin, too, and he was "Man of the Year" (or as we educated folk like to call it, "Best Bud of Time Magazine and the American People") a few times. Hopefully they've learned something about loyalty to the ones they love. I'd hate to see Putin dragged through the mud. I mean, he was our Best Bud a couple years back, wasn't he?
- thepoliticalcat, on 01/13/2009, -2/+17I was never a C student; No one's ever accused me of war crimes; I haven't killed a single person, ever; and I've never had to duck a flying shoe.
Guess I'm better than Dumbya in a lot of ways! - SilasTomorrow, on 01/13/2009, -1/+16Man, I almost feel sorry for the guy.
Almost.
Now its gone. - LemurDaddy, on 01/13/2009, -0/+14I call *****. It's a weak excuse for the current Prez to claim that all outgoing two-termers are as broadly disliked as Bush 43. Frankly, it's an attempt at false equivalence.
I've lived through Carter, Reagan, Bush 41 and Clinton. And let me tell you something, whipper-snapper: None of those men were as hated as Bush 43. He's special. He's unique.
Obama will rise or fall on his own merits. Don't pretend he's another Bush just because it makes you feel better. - inactive, on 01/13/2009, -0/+14How you define a bad presidency then? Bush has broken every rule. I give you that he isn't the sole cause of this economic crisis but he certainly didn't do anything to stop it. But let's give the guy a break from that. What about the civil liberties that he took from us? What about the torture of prisoners? Getting us into an unnecessary war lying to our face? What about destroying Iraq? The country wasn't that good in the first place but we left it even worse for what? So Halliburton could rebuild it and rip the profits?
- inactive, on 01/13/2009, -4/+17dude sounded like he was in a drunken rage. i'm serious that's the most emotion i've seen him give in the past 8 years combined. he's still a jackwhore, but it was weird. also he was spewing some bs about how he was prompt in katrina and the fed govm't did not fail. I'm sorry, but taking five days to transport ***** water is *****.
- BlacklabelSAR, on 01/13/2009, -1/+14George Bush, you have been found guilty of gross negligence.
- Dumbledorito, on 01/13/2009, -6/+19"...delivered not just with his signature shoulder-hunching emphasis..."
You mean his clueless shrug and simpering chuckle? - LomasLou, on 01/13/2009, -3/+15Did he actually say "helicopter drivers" and "coast guard drivers" when referring to the personnel that were involved in rescue operations after Katrina?
We should consider ourselves lucky that this twit didn't do more damage to the country. Is it January 20th yet? - sizzzzlerz, on 01/13/2009, -3/+15Worst president ever, bar none. His incompetence will harm this country for decades.
Hate him? *****, yeah, I do and proud of it. - ScienceDoc, on 01/12/2009, -12/+24Time's Man of the Year a few years back. How quickly the neocon-controlled corporate media turns when there is money to be made.
- inactive, on 01/13/2009, -4/+16I'm pretty sure he was drunk.
- jsffive, on 01/13/2009, -1/+12Worst President?
Certainly the worst in my 43 years.
He was asleep at the wheel, before and while our nation was being attacked. He aimed a multi-trillion dollar weapon at the wrong target, and got a lot of innocent people killed. He planted seeds of discord that will continue growing for generations. His Administration made it clear that they weren't going to listen to any opinion but their own, and continuously tried to blame someone else for their failures.
He ought to go to prison, but our dysfunctional government doesn't know the meaning of accountability, so he and his genocidal friends will just get away with it. And i don't know who to be disgusted with more, him and his evil cohorts, or the ignorant morons who voted for him, or the *****-tards who continue to apologize for him. - m0n0kr0m3, on 01/13/2009, -0/+11I doubt it, seeing as Bush was never our BFF and had to use all the influence his family had (quite considerable in my estimation) to get the SCOTUS to install him as 4 year dictator back in 2000. This was not a happy moment for our country as a whole, it created a schism in the national psyche if you will, a pall that hung over every thing that happened during his two terms. I personally don't believe he ever truly won a Presidential election, I'm not saying that I don't know people that were happy about him being in charge, I just don't think it was ever realistic. Shame on the various sessions of Congress that did not impeach this lamest duck of them all.
- anillop, on 01/13/2009, -5/+16I could train a monkey to do a better job than Bush. Even incompetent president can do a good job if they surround themselves with competent advisers. Too bad Bush couldn't even pull that off.
I never though their could be a worse president than Hoover, but I guess I was wrong. - HappyScrappy, on 01/13/2009, -0/+11I found it really odd that when indicating how Katrina didn't go well, he opined about whether he should have landed Air Force One in Louisiana instead of flying over.
That, to me, is to miss the point completely and in a way that really indicates he still might not realize what people are so upset about. It's not that they were disappointed he didn't make a photo op. It's that the actual disaster was handled so badly both before and after the fact. And no, not all of this falls to the federal government, but they sure didn't lead the way in excellence during the crisis. - JoeJim, on 01/13/2009, -0/+9Stop "misunderestimating" the man.
- rushiku, on 01/13/2009, -3/+11"Why'd the financial collapse have to happen on my watch?" he mocked. "It's just pathetic, isn't it, self-pity?"
Erm, maybe no one told you this, and I do realize it's a bit late in the game, but...you're not supposed to _just_ watch!
Hold it, scratch that, let me rephrase, ahem, _most_ Presidents aren't supposed to just watch, but, in your case? We would have vastly preferred it. (oh, aren't you clever? yes, by "most" I do mean every President in the history of the United States that wasn't you) - thepoliticalcat, on 01/13/2009, -1/+9I know what you mean. I always thought Shrub the Greater was a godawful piece of *****, but his son makes him look ... Presidential. I never thought the day would come when I'd say that.
- woodsjransom, on 01/13/2009, -2/+10Considering what he has done, hell yes I could have done better.
- enantiodromia, on 01/13/2009, -1/+9my favorite part is where you ask everyone to let go of the hate Bush earned these last 8 years, and save it for the guy who isn't even president yet.
- oriondr, on 01/13/2009, -0/+8"Secure"? how can you argue secure when the most devastating terrorist attack in American history happened under his watch?
- icewater, on 01/13/2009, -2/+10He'll be a US outcast in his own country. A pariah, a nobody. I'm sure he won't be seen in the local supermarket or movie theater any time soon. People will yell at him to no end and smear him with the title ""Murderer". He'll be in the same class as OJ. A new moniker..... George "OJ" Bush.
- theaceoffire, on 01/13/2009, -0/+8What a heel!
- inactive, on 01/13/2009, -0/+7I hope he takes those lollipops and shoves them up his ***** ass.
- inactive, on 01/13/2009, -0/+7***** him. Job stress is part of the deal. I don't feel sorry for him one bit. Nobody forced him to run for president. Well, that might not be true. His daddy might have threatened to ground him if he didn't. Being president has a lot of perks, sure. But it's an extremely high-profile job. Honestly, I don't know why anybody would want the job, unless they are egomaniacs. He was a terrible president. I hope he eventually stands trial for war crimes. I will never feel sorry for him and his henchmen. They've stashed away millions and millions. I do, however, feel very sorry for the men and women who lost their lives and limbs in idiotic wars. And if you start feeling sorry for Smirky McStupid, just think about all of the parents, on all sides of the conflicts, who have lost their children.
- thepoliticalcat, on 01/13/2009, -0/+7Whatever for? It would mean having to look at his ugly mug one more time, blech.
- ChileanGoD, on 01/13/2009, -1/+8send him a pretzel.
- inactive, on 01/13/2009, -0/+6BassMastr: If you hadn't noticed the world was ***** up before George Bush touched the White House, to expect Obama to fix everything that's wrong is going to lead to dissapointment. While the political systems are structured the way they are around the world, we'll be stuck with laws reflecting the personal opinion of a political leader and/or their followers. Even if this opinion reflects the majorities opinion, we need to move to setting laws based on what is best for society as a whole, heck their was a time when the majority was in favour of slavery, to think democratically deciding social laws results in a perfect scenario is plain stupid.
Like you I hold high hopes for Obama, but these extend only to reversing some of the crap Bush has implemented in his term in office, whilst employing knowledgable staff to implement his policies on what is best for both you Americans and the rest of the world. However PeaTearGryphon is correct, it will be a long time before the additional screw ups Bush has created with be eliminated. - enantiodromia, on 01/13/2009, -0/+6I think you people would just love another attack at this point. Admit it. Without another attack, all of your blind support is meaningless.
I am glad you bring up the Lewisnky distraction/scandal. I wonder, were you actually interested in politics at that time, or did you just watch the local news? Do you remember who caused the distraction? If it were not for Ken Starr and Newt Gingrich, there would have been no national distraction in the first place. It was the GOP who made the whole thing into a enormous waste of time and money.
finally, are you really comparing the "attacks" which happened under Clinton with 9/11? That is a bit of a stretch.
Where were you when you first heard about the first WTC bombing? Can't remember, can you? Where were you when you heard about the attacks of 9/11? I bet you can remember crystal clear, because it was unprecedented in scope and damage. - inactive, on 01/13/2009, -0/+6Truth Serum my ass. Waterboarding, all the way!
- enantiodromia, on 01/13/2009, -1/+7to all of the Bush supporters here calling him a "great leader", can you explain why his approval ratings are so low, considering how great he was?
Is it because only 20% of the population can see how the country is better off now than it was 8 years ago? - woodsjransom, on 01/13/2009, -0/+6Its not hatred just an extreme dislike for all the problems he had a hand in. He just did not bear any fruit. You have to be able to discern.
- alvarezg, on 01/13/2009, -1/+6I'm disappointed that he came along and in the morons who elected him. Let's build him a monument with a plaque that says 'Never Again'.
- KibblesnBitts, on 01/13/2009, -0/+5No, but 3,000,000 people are going to wave hello to Obama on inauguration day
- thepoliticalcat, on 01/13/2009, -2/+7Hey, man, you KNOW everybody's snarkometer is completely ***** busted after eight years of that complete ***** bastard, can't you put a snark tag in there or sump'n?
- Yoshiler, on 01/13/2009, -0/+5Where head? THERE HEAD!
- vonbroner, on 01/13/2009, -0/+5Glad I get to buzzkill you. It's spelled grammar. Good speech, though.
- savagesteve13, on 01/13/2009, -3/+8He still registers a percentage of support. Oh well, even adolf hitler had supporters in 1945, even though the Russians were at the edge of Berlin.
