- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -10/+72A master progagandizer and leader of an administration which've made spin an artform and national pastime complains about propaganda. Hilarity ensues.
- Jadinlee, on 10/12/2007, -7/+55This administration is an embarassment to our country. They are counting on the collective ignorance of American citizens to buy this type of bull. What Americans should keep in mind that is that we are SUPPOSE to have a liberal media which questions (relentlessly) goverment power. A non-liberal media is NOT what our founding fathers had in mind. The media ITSELF is a check on government control. Organizations like Fox News scare me because they are exactly what media in our country was never suppose to become.
Dictators, not democratic governments, are the ones who attack and silence opposition in order to retain power. But I guess this path was inevitable for our country. To this day, the U.S. is still called "the great experiment" and for good reason... because no one yet knows what the fnal outcome of American power/structure will be. Right now it is appearing like the experiment is leading to public passivity and government corruption which will eventually implode. - jackelsmack, on 10/12/2007, -7/+45"Dear Leader, isn't it a fact that the lying lairheads have lied to turn the American people against your war of glory?"
"Why yes Bill, that IS a fact. Funny you should bring this up, because I've taken a principled stand against liars and the lies they lie. Suggesting my war of glory isn't glorious is clearly a lie!" - NoAccounting4me, on 10/12/2007, -7/+44He's got a point. The press has repeatedly, consistently worked to turn people against the war by shamelessly reporting the facts on the ground, and by keeping records of the statements made by the administration and comparing them to the actual reality. Because, as Colbert told us, Reality has a well-known liberal bias.
- SpudgeBoy, on 10/12/2007, -7/+39Illogialcal behavior is staying the course in Iraq. Propaganda is repeating that everything in Iraq is hunky dory.
- ZenMojo, on 10/12/2007, -4/+30"See in my line of work you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the propaganda."
--George W. Bush
"Through clever and constant application of propaganda, people can be made to see paradise as hell, and also the other way around, to consider the most wretched sort of life as paradise."
--Adolf Hitler - therippa, on 10/12/2007, -13/+38Dear Mr. O'Reilly,
Die in a fire.
Thanks,
The people still left in this country who actually do care about "freedom" - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -8/+32WTF? Fox News is a propaganda machine!
- Synthaetica, on 10/12/2007, -7/+30was that an interview or verbal fellatio?
- dshPls, on 10/12/2007, -7/+26CLINTION DID IT!
- ProximaC, on 10/12/2007, -5/+23I'm surprised Mr O ’Reilly was able to say anything understandable with Bush's ***** so far down his throat.
- ProximaC, on 10/12/2007, -3/+19"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger."
-- Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials - ByteGuerilla, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18Ahh, *****. This one I'm gonna have to note down...
*whips out a pad and pen*
Note to self: questioning government _illogical_ in a democracy.
Glad the President straightened this out. Turns out democracy is about destroying the country. Whaddaya know, the neocons were right. - Urusai, on 10/12/2007, -5/+18I can't believe Bush would bring up logic, it's not exactly his strong point. But then again, maybe that's why...
- cakestick, on 10/12/2007, -6/+20Yeah, what a bunch of *****, huh? Serving as the fourth estate and all, holding a government accountable that's all but been in the hands of Republicans through failure after failure.. Let's vote the media out of office!!1
Idiot.. if FOX News is correcting anything at all, it's the decision of viewers to actually watch it. Their ratings are tanking because people can only stay stupid for so long. - KiSA, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15Japanese sneak attack -----?-----> WWII
9/11 ---?---> War in Iraq
one of these is a legitimate connection. which one is it?
It has not so much to do with that soldiers are dieing, but WHY they are. - pksynths, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16Someone put a gold star next to Bush's name!! What a good boy.
- samew, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Preserving the Western way of life against what? Islamism? Communism? Socialism?
Americans may argue amongst themselves about abortion, foreign policy, etc., but there is NO chance in hell that there is going to be some kind of radical anti-Democratic movement that will change our society, at least not if the people have anything to say about it.
The only changes to our way of life in the past years have been imposed by the government as limitations to our freedoms, in the name of preserving our freedoms. What freedoms have we been protecting all this time? EXPLAIN to me how the actions of this administration have helped to preserve any of the freedoms that I have, as an American. Specifically, WHO or WHAT is threatening to take away these freedoms? - ncelani00, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12@electronic
I agree, if during World War II we had been attacked by Japan and we then declared war on Canada, the country might want to pull out. - muleking, on 10/12/2007, -4/+14Says the alcoholic liar to the sexual deviant...
- whiskeymb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10yup, and all while he's in Bill O'Reilly's "no spin zone"..
I love the comment though .. "We have got a plan — first of all a stated goal."
oOOOOOH, a STATED GOAL. Yeah, you want to win the war, so now tell us HOW THE FLIPPING HELL YOU INTEND TO DO THAT. Staying the course is not a plan, it's an excuse. - kencyber, on 10/12/2007, -6/+14Nearly everything Bush does goes against common sense. So when the majority of people in the press oppose Bush policies, well that's just common sense. The media is just reporting the facts and facts don't lie.
- aiken, on 10/12/2007, -6/+13@JeffH: "The media" doesn't favor anyone, because there's no such thing. Millions of people work in "the media" around the world, doing everything from selling ads to designing fancy graphics. There is no homogeneity of opinion or purpose among the people working at one media company, let alone across all media companies.
But rather than just disagree with the "universally coherent media bias" theory, let me give you a new approach that makes a lot more sense: *reporters* tend to skew democratic, much like everyone else in their (low) income bracket. And if reporters (and other newsroom folk, who also make very little) have a bias, it's more or less inevitable that it will make it out into the product. The people making real money in "the media" are the biz types, and with a few notable exceptions (*cough* FOX *cough*), they don't usually get involved in the editorial angles.
The republicans could easily secure their hegemony for years to come by passing legislation designed to bump up reporters' income. Once the people writing the stories start to see personal impact from stuff like capital gains tax reductions, you can bet the inevitable media bias would flip sides right quick. - drlha, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9All the people making fun of "Bushisms" should note that "propagandize" is actually a valid word.
- successrealm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8And 4 years later "Mrkamikaze", you have yet to face reality....
We are occupiers, try to wake up. Any day now.
Lemme guess, you still think that the "Iraqi Seal Team" was gonna' swim over here, cut your little babies throats, and take away your "western life" and rights? How come the "libruls" seem to have more common sense than you?
Then you go off on a rant about how far from reality the left is? HELLO! YOU are in the minority....next?
Keep sippin' the kool aid.....When you figure out the difference between 911/those who attacked us, and Iraq, give us a call, clown.....
Yawn. - meatwig, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9p_IbddaYo
FOX is a republican propaganda tool. View for yourself. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11@mrfoos
Heh, yeah, it's so childish to expect a competent President!
Boy, you've got OUR number! - jaythree9, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8i think of awesome tech books
- Suzilla, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8@mrkamakaze:
Perhaps your neighbor is mad at you because you keep sh*tting in his yard, and have ignored his plea that you stop sh*tting in his yard and stop encouraging others to sh*t in his yard? Perhaps your neighbor has finally had enough and deemed you to be such an ignorant (as in, one who ignores) dumb@ss that he's left with no choice but to get rid of the ignorant dumb@sses who keep sh*tting in his yard.
So, maybe the solution is to listen, and stop sh*tting in your neighbor's yard? - geometry, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8@Mrkamikaze
You still believe Iraq posed a threat to us? Or it's neighbors in any meaningful way? No WMD, no link to terrorism (actually the opposite). That argument might have worked 2 years ago before those lies were uncovered. Next time try to come up with a valid argument. - vertinox, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7@"If the same type of reporting were around in World War 2 where Millions of soldiers had died in the war we would have many times the pressure to pull out."
Americans only suffered 500,000 dead during WWII. You can compare that to 2 million German soldiers and 10 million Russians soldiers (not counting civilians). - duzytata, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7@JeffH
Oh yeah, the media is sooo pro-Democrat. I mean just look at how nice they were to Clinton during the sex scandal! - geometry, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8What is the limit to the price that you are willing to spend to maintain our western way of life? How many innocent people are you willing to let die so you can have your two cars and four televisions? How can you sleep at night? Oh, you just ignore the facts or make the judgment that foreigners lives aren't worth as much as westerner's lives.
- thomasprebble, on 10/12/2007, -7/+13***** BUSH and ***** O REILEY
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Bill O' is a good Christian. How dare you sodomites smite such a good man with your hate and lies. http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/1013043mackris16.html
- successrealm, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Hey Paul , maybe the administration can PAY for good news? Oh wait, they already have over and over again....
- tigerpaper, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Why does he do this to himself?
He should know by now not to EVER call someone else "illogical".
It's like watching a 600 pound man call someone else a "Fat-ass".
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abCxNPPkXdM - netsui, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6In other news. Bush engages in hypocrisy.
- Suzilla, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Now if they could only teach him to pronounce NUCLEAR as well as they taught him to pronounced propagandize ...
- samew, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7So, since North Koreans on the border are shooting at our military along the DMZ, why haven't we invaded them?
They have WMD you know... - hcl40u, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Well he did have lots of practice.
- Zippo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Can Bush even spell "illogical"?
- Koosebane, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Television?
No thanks. - successrealm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4@H380
Are you comparing Iraq and Saddam with Hitler and Germany? YOU want to speak of learning "history" to the rest of us? I suggest you actually LEARN history, instead of blindly thinking a FOX NEWS "talking point" is "knowledge" concerning the supposed "threat" of Iraq.
Saddam and Iraq was not a threat to us during the Iraq/Iran war, during the Gulf War in 90/91 in which I spent eight months of my life over there for, during 12 years of sanctions, or even 2 minutes before we invaded it. Comparing Iraq to to Germany is ludicrous, and shows you have NO clue in the realm of reality that the rest of us dwell in. What color is the sky on your planet?
Months before 911, Powell and Rice stated that Saddam was contained, the Sanctions had worked, and he couldn't even threaten his own neighbors. You seem to have forgotten reality, and "conveniently" of course disregard what they HAD and did NOT have. Your "ten years from now" is an utter straw argument, and is based on nothing more than "if's", as usual. What if, but but but, what about, or maybe's are NOT based on reality. There was no need to occupy Iraq, none....
Then, you bring up other Nations and their Nuclear plans. Tell me oh history buffness, WHO had the containers locked and camera's in place, and under WHO'S admin were they removed and the process started up again?
You really need to face reality... All this "but but but Clinton" and "Saddam is Hitler" shows you are not only a fool, but know NOTHING of history, nor reality.
Wake the hell up and stop blaming the "libruls" for pointing out reality. - imjoe, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5cpuenvy
If Saddam had planes flying over the U.S. and dropping bombs, any U.S. military response would be us attacking Iraq and would justify them invading our country? - Daunting, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6And the thought of a fomenting Iraq helps you sleep at night?
- jayesbee, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Yeah, glad to see that those "fair and balanced" Fox reporters are out there asking the tough questions.
- greymaxcat, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Tis a shame that half the country agrees with the President...
- jellygraph, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4what people didn't get to see was O'Reilly giving Bush a blowjob after the interview
"Oh yeah, I like that propagandiazing... yyyyeeeeeaaaaah"
"shut up shut up shut up shut up"
"i want you.... dead or alive, oh yeaaaah"
"have you joined the church of fudge yet?" - RatzoRizzo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Look this whole whoa is me liberal press bias is pathetic. With Fox News giving airtime to O'Reilly and Hannity, Rush's EIB audience, and that modern day McCarthy Michael Savage there is no shortage of right wing ideology in this nation. OH and of course there is the whole Christian political demagoguery machine to contend with.
No amount of scorn can even be enough for W. He has forever lowered the United States status as a fair player and we can never again claim the moral high ground ofter invading Iraq on false pretenses - it doesn't matter how bad Saddam was. Now we are going to build a fence across our country to keep out the Mexicans. So much for 200+ years of democracy etc. It is starting to feel like we are the Romans sitting on our porches waiting for the Visigoths to come riding in ( I wonder if they will be Chinese?) -
