- bradym80, on 10/11/2007, -9/+235How do we stop it without going to jail? If you can think of a way I'd like to hear it.
- littlebylittle, on 10/11/2007, -4/+150You can't stop it alone. But if everyone gets collectively pissed there are lots of things that could be done. A General Strike would be one. Mass protests another.
- Keach, on 10/11/2007, -26/+115Would you people Shut Up. I'm trying to watch the game.

- crazybugger, on 10/11/2007, -13/+84Wake up Americans. This is all I can say.
- 89vision, on 10/11/2007, -1/+59Happy Independence Day
- rhinocero, on 10/11/2007, -14/+67He's a second term president.
His party has almost nil chance of winning the next presidential election.
Congress is close to deadlocked and thus nearly powerless.
The Supreme Court is right-leaning.
There's no real reason for him NOT to do whatever he wants.
No protest will change that - the people protesting will never like him anyway and he never has to run again. A strike could change it - but more likely we'd run out of willpower before he did. - Tenlow, on 10/11/2007, -1/+43*****. Let's march on washington. I've got nothing better to do with my time. I'm in california, so it might take me a while to get there.
- Wonderkind, on 10/11/2007, -3/+45So many many people constantly talk about how stupid George Bush is.
I think the democrats shot themselves in the foot by making that claim.
You know the phrase "crazy like a fox"? Well, there you have it.
All time low popularity, all time high power? Maybe.
But he's laughing all the way to the bank if you think he's stupid.
He WON'T be impeached, nor tried for a crime.
He'll get away clean, he and his powerful friends will be lots richer,
and the republican party will be a shambles, even if
only for a few years, until the neo-dems ***** it up, as they always do.
When he leaves office, Democrats will be too busy with THEIR agendas to go after Bush.
We Americans are too well off to really do anything that requires sacrifice, or even action. - RoundysSince, on 10/11/2007, -20/+59A Democrat will enter office and you will all act like everything is fine again. Make love, not war. yawn.
Hey! Somebody besides Bush is in the office, the nation is on track again!
You are dreaming if you think politicians care about your worthless lives. They like votes, not you. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+33Its not just the presidental office that out of order, the whole system is out of whack. Only people with extreme amounts of cash can run for office, this is a major problem! This isnt Democracy, this is a game where the largest bidder gets the lions share of attention. We need more everyday people to run for office so we can have more focus on the real issues and not on crazy power scemes!
- polyGone, on 10/11/2007, -5/+37That was either a horrible use of sarcasm, or a text-based representation of what is wrong with America.
- GlobalistShill, on 10/11/2007, -2/+34@liberalplacebo
Not all people getting angry about what going on are "liberals". Many are "conservatives".
There is also a movement of people now gravitating towards libertarian views, which are not at all the same as "liberal", and which reflect the views of the Founding Fathers. The donkey-elephant show is a facade. They are two sides of the same coin.
Dissent is not the same as whining. The spreading of awareness is needed now. Words, when spoken or written with skill in action, change hearts and minds. This in turn changes worlds. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+26I thought you guys had the 2nd amendment. What's the point if you don't use it?
- jlucpicard, on 10/11/2007, -0/+23I didn't vote for him...did you?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -13/+36Why doesn't someone just kill him? :)
/cue the Secret Service breaking down my door. - machinegunopera, on 10/11/2007, -1/+21Does political office?
- machinegunopera, on 10/11/2007, -12/+32 There was a revolution once. A movement. Back in the 60's-70's. They lost. They however didn't fight. The only way we will ever take back our government is through fighting. Or provided someone like Ron Paul wins the election (which sadly won't happen). People won't fight because they won't think their government needs to be fought. That's an issue. This who would fight, either don't have the means, or are to scared. Well, it's time to be scared. And it's time to fight. It's time to stand. Stand against Chemtrails being sprayed over our cities. AIDS and STD's scaring people sexless. Half of our nation on sedatives. Fluoride in our water killing our will. A fascist church destroying our spirits. Iraq, Iran, Israel. A war on drugs. A war on knowledge. A corrupt media filling our brains with celebrity worship. Vaccines being forced on children around the world. A camera on every corner. A police man on every street. We're being deceived. We are all sheep. Every single one of us and we're being rounded up, and pushed towards the slaughter house. No one is free. Digg me down or up I don't care. Do whatever. Just make sure someday, someone remembers a time when we actually had a chance of winning back our freedom.
- nixonrichard, on 10/11/2007, -0/+20Actually, I thought it was pretty good. It's not "what's wrong with America" it's what's NOT wrong with America. People don't get pissed off and riot in the street until they're jobless, homeless, hungry, and (more importantly) their cable TV gets turned off.
People on the internet can bitch all they want about America and the President and how people should be madder than hell, but if everyone in the country has a good job with a good salary and all the things they need in life, it's hard to get them to riot. - mr.hostility, on 10/11/2007, -3/+22Well said. That or we end up enemy combatants in Guantanamo Bay.
- pyman, on 10/11/2007, -0/+19The only thing the government fears is the population in an uprising
- Inverno, on 10/11/2007, -1/+19You wanna throw hockey pucks at him from across the street?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+20Hey guys, time to use your 2nd amendment.
- caplist, on 10/11/2007, -1/+18We have massively increased the federal governments policing activity to hold American citizens in check and make sure we are well behaved and pose no threat, while massively expanding our aggressive presence around the world. There is no possible way these moves can make us more secure, yet they will accelerate our march toward national bankruptcy with a currency collapse. Ron Paul 1/29/2003
- swrostmore, on 10/11/2007, -2/+19Because assassins only kill populist left-leaning public figures.
- macguy815, on 10/11/2007, -1/+18I didn't vote for him, but he's my president and he's done a horrible job.
- thcobbs, on 10/11/2007, -0/+16The second amendment does NOT guarantee the right to commit murder.
- oxdeltaxo, on 10/11/2007, -3/+19Canadian sniper team anyone.....
- nerdtron, on 10/11/2007, -0/+16The problem is not so much that Bush doesn't care- that much is apparent. The real problem (I think anyway) is that it sets such a dangerous precedent for future leaders. Two terms under Bush has been bad enough, but he has paved the way for future presidents to similarly abuse the system. The American constitution, as written, is one of the most brilliant pieces of legal work ever put together (I say that as a Canadian), but it has systematically been torn apart and degraded to the point where I worry if it can be recovered.
It's the legacy of disrespect for the law, the people and the world that I am most concerned about. The democrats for their part are nearly as blame-worthy for making a lot of noise, but doing very little. I can only pray America can turn itself around. - LastVisibleDog, on 10/11/2007, -4/+19"His Presidential approval rating is at an all-time low"
And the Democrat Congress has an even lower approval rating - Democrat Majority leader Harry Reid's approval rating is lower than that and lower than convicted felon Scooter Libby. Take the blind hatred out of your eyes and see the entire picture. Don't be a tool of one party - think for yourself. - paulexander, on 10/11/2007, -1/+16We're all too well entertained and too well fed. We don;t care because very few of us are really experiencing any tangible effects of his actions.
- thcobbs, on 10/11/2007, -0/+14That's precisely the correct sentiment. Peaceful Marches and Protests ALWAYS do more good than vitriolic hatred. The American public are MUCH more likely to pay attention to someone calmly presenting their argument and having facts to back it up.
As soon as someone starts throwing insults around.... everyone stops listening. - inhaler, on 10/11/2007, -1/+15thcobbs, it doesn't work like that anymore. Did you get pissed when LA cops were shooting May Day protestors with rubber bullets, trampling old women and children through a park as they assembled? Did anyone get angry? Maybe for a day, and that was a peaceful protest. We need change - we need real dramatic empowering change, just like we had before the first American Revolution. We need to drag those in power who abuse us to the Liberty Tree and humiliate them for being the spineless, corrupt, inhuman bastards that they are. We need to ransack the houses of the rich who profit off the blood and sweat of the poor, off our fellow Americans who die in foreign lands so they can turn a buck. Read atleast the first few chapters of The Unknown American Revolution by Gary B. Nash, and tell me what the difference between then and now is. Peaceful protest died at Kent State during Vietnam. We need to get back to our roots and make them actually afraid of the power we can wield together.
- polyGone, on 10/11/2007, -4/+18or dying?
- Nereus90, on 10/11/2007, -1/+15@ LavaHot
How does it feel to have an FBI file on you? - jsowder18, on 10/11/2007, -1/+14Any suggestions on a better country to move to?? I wanna get outta here soon, who's coming with me?
- AndrewDB, on 01/10/2008, -9/+22Why do all diggers swear by Ron Paul? Christ, sacrifice a goat to the guy already. Worship a golden statue of him if you must..
- oxdeltaxo, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12The 2nd is there to insure the people can can over throw an oppressive regime if such a need ever arose. It's how your country was formed, and your founding fathers in their wisdom knew this. You just need to remind people that federal and state laws aren't gods word, they have the responsibility to do what is right and set things the way they should be. This in no way encourages violence, in fact its there to insure freedom from it.
- clark24, on 10/11/2007, -3/+15One word: Cheney
- tidu, on 10/11/2007, -1/+13but the thing is, if we all sit here and do nothing, future presidents would just emulate what Bush has done, thinking, yeah I won't be popular, but I'll get my agenda through knowing I rule over 300 million lazy people and no one cares enough to get some change around here.
- danfuturo, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11Nobody cares because the majority of this country has never truly had a bad day as a direct result of his actions. With the exception of the families of wounded/deceased soldiers, the average citizen is completely detached from issues that do not directly affect them. People these days seem more inclined to protest against trivial things like gay marriage, racial epithets, abortion, and Paris Hilton going to jail for three weeks. The powers that be LOVE when we start getting fired up about these unimportant matters, because it diverts attention somewhere else, away from where it should be. ...and I wont even begin to comment on the mass-media spin doctors like Glen Beck and Billy-O.
Until we collectively learn to start thinking beyond the things that matter only to "me," this nation is absolutely *****. - Dulcinea80, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12I honestly don't understand why there hasn't been much protesting already. Or why someone hasn't tried to assassinate bush yet. Everyone seems so lazy and apathetic... I feel compelled to protest and I don't even live there!!!
- nixonrichard, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12"Congress is close to deadlocked and thus nearly powerless"
Bull . . . *****. Do you really believe everything a politician tells you? "Thanks for your votes a giving us control of Congress, BUT, we need even more elected party members before we can do anything. Try again in two years if you want results." - kreneskyp, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12Something that i find really appalling is the apathy Americans have towards politics. I don't know how many times ive heard "i voted and did my part, ill do it again in 2-4 years". I don't know many people who would even be willing to have a conversation about any issues, they'd rather just talk about the latest hot TV show or youtube video. Its as if none of these things affected them. If you do want to talk about politics you are written off as a crazy zealot.
- Joshper85, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10We need an uprising!!!
- Inverno, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10I'm pretty sure throwing the Queen's tea into the Boston Harbor was illegal too.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+12thus making him a martyr? no way!
IN JAIL!!! - bdbr, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10When that amendment was written, it was hunting muskets vs military muskets (and the hunting muskets were more accurate). Now its hunting rifles vs armored troop carriers, M1A tanks, and supersonic fighter-bombers...the odds have changed a bit.
- SouthsideIrish, on 10/11/2007, -2/+12Talk is cheap! Until people are willing to go to jail, then nothing will happen. Not everybody is willing to do it, but when enough are, and people are willing to protest for the ones who are then you can scare the government. When 100,000 are willing to march on Washington even with the threat of death, then we will change this country. America is lost, because we are wimps, which is why I am moving to New Hampshire, where people are ready, willing, and able to protest, which is the reason why the Secret Service is finding it hard to arrest the Brown's
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10They arent that stupid, they keep the babies in Iraq.
