- implied, on 01/18/2008, -6/+132Inaccurate, we lost credibility when he got elected.
- h4ckler, on 01/18/2008, -16/+94That crazy mother ***** is going to try his best to start WW3 before he's out of office. Better get to the impeaching unless you're ready to be drafted.
- ChazPSE, on 01/18/2008, -5/+47....."Bush replied that the agency was 'just guessing.'" What a TOOL.
- ronpaul20008, on 01/18/2008, -2/+34i like how he finishes off his middle east "peace mission", which he hopes will save his legacy, with a $20 billion weapons contract to a military dictator.. um.. i mean, king. aren't the saudis, the ones bush is kissing on the cheeks and on the ass, responsible for 9/11? aren't they the ones making up the majority of insurgents in iraq? something is wrong here, no? is anybody going to stop this mad man before it is too late?
- inactive, on 01/18/2008, -5/+34Bush destroyed American credibility long ago. If there was a shred of credibility left, perhaps the NIE did it in, but I doubt it.
- understudy, on 01/18/2008, -2/+24Just the opposite.
After suffering a major embarrassment five years ago, the intelligence communities may be erring on the side of what they are absolutely certain instead of speculating under political pressure. Because of that, I'm more inclined to believe the collaborative effort of the NIE rather than the dismissal of it by what 70% of the population believes is an unfavorable President.
_ - blindhammer, on 01/18/2008, -6/+25I wasn't aware the United States had any more credibility.
- zeitgueist, on 01/18/2008, -1/+19Actually most of the intelligence community did not agree with Bush on the WMD's. Tenet and Bush cherry-picked.
- maracujah, on 01/18/2008, -1/+17At the very least when he was re-elected...
- mikelieman, on 01/18/2008, -0/+14BDS == Bush Derangement Syndrome.
It's when YOU are so deranged you actually try to support Bush. - xedd, on 01/18/2008, -0/+14Inaccurate, we lost credibility when Bush was APPOINTED, by the US Supreme Court action that stopped the vote recounts in Florida in 2000.
(I think it's more accurate this way.) - kooft, on 01/18/2008, -1/+14"Odd......after finding out that ALL of our "intelligence" agencies were wrong about WMDs in Iraq, I would think most THINKING people would be HIGHLY SKEPTICAL of any of our "intelligence" agencies information on Iran."
Bush reorganized our intelligence system and supposedly made them better/faster/stronger/etc, which means they're supposedly more accurate and more reliable now than ever before. By dismissing his own intelligence agencies (aka all US intelligence agencies) Bush is either admitting that his security efforts over the past 7 years have been utterly worthless or he's admitting that he bases his policy on personal feelings and beliefs, and not on fact. - rhabd0mancer, on 01/18/2008, -3/+15Jebus Christ can't return unless Bush ushers in the great Battle of Har-mageddon.
- mikelieman, on 01/18/2008, -1/+13The Intelligence Community is PISSED at being thrown under the Bus when Bush allegedly committed felony fraud and conspiracy lying to The People and Congress to influence their decision to authorize action against Iraq.
- shakbhaji, on 01/18/2008, -1/+10Only a small reserve in Alaska. Bush went ahead and gave to "okay" to begin drilling so he can begin squandering that as well.
- vornan19, on 01/18/2008, -1/+10and every day since
- ronpaul20008, on 01/18/2008, -4/+13Bush talks to god and is omnipotent. how dare you question god himself?
- zeusthemoose, on 01/18/2008, -1/+10Wow, I didn't think anyone could have their head shoved up their ass so far...
- zeusthemoose, on 01/18/2008, -1/+9But, but, but Jesbus told bush that Iran had wmds!!!
- swrostmore, on 01/18/2008, -2/+10Boon Dock Saints? Good movie.
- Cofaloaf, on 01/18/2008, -1/+9You guys are so dumb. Let me lay it out for you. Everyone says Bush has taken the most vacation time of any president at his ranch in Texas. When in reality, he has spent that time as an undercover agent in a clandestine operation working at an Iranian nuclear weapon facility. He has seen the threat first hand. He knows what hes talking about.
- kahakauai, on 01/18/2008, -4/+11The funny thing is... your still ***** suprised
- insanebrain, on 01/18/2008, -3/+10"... U.S. intelligence... "
hahahahahahahahaha. . . - Shogi, on 01/18/2008, -6/+12Looks like it's about time to go shopping for a sniper rifle.....
- mikelieman, on 01/18/2008, -1/+7Well, Bush *IS* listening to those voices in his head telling him what to do, so he's "Divinely Inspired", rather than "Just Guessing", "Possessed by Satan ( as likely as Divine Inspiration ) and/or "Dissociated From Reality"
- StarlessKnight, on 01/18/2008, -0/+6God bless the USA... because we obviously need it.
- relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -3/+9So what, he thinks he has more credibility than the intelligence community? ***** him and his foregone conclusions. He wants a military confrontation, and screw the means to the end.
I can't wait for you to go back to Crawford and leave the world alone, you *****. - hinchb, on 01/18/2008, -0/+6"[the NIE's] conclusions don't reflect his own views"
Right because we should totally bomb countries on a gut feeling. What a *****. - CraigJ, on 01/18/2008, -3/+9the NIE is produced by the NIC (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Intelligence ... This is the same council (with some different members) that said Iraq had WMDs in 2003. I'm not necessarily suggesting they are wrong again, however, the information is from the same sources (CIA, etc.). I would also add that the Israelis, the UK and France disagree with the NIE's assessment, which,m let's face it, was a fairly abrupt 180.
Regardless, there is no good reason to preemptively attack Iran. I would prefer more of policy like, go ahead and do what you're going to do, but, understand that if you use or make available for use a nuclear device against us or our allies we will turn your country to glass. - mikelieman, on 01/18/2008, -1/+6You should get that tic looked at by a professional.
- gudnbluts, on 01/18/2008, -1/+6The other point, of course, is that when somebody agrees with their boss, it's quite likely they're just towing the party line. When they disagree, you can at least assume they're not doing so because of pressure from above.
- jsmu, on 01/18/2008, -0/+5SELECTED. not elected.
- plywood747, on 01/18/2008, -1/+6I didn't read the article but I think it's shocking that anyone would disagree with Bill Nie, the Science Guy.
- inactive, on 01/18/2008, -0/+4Exactly, I don't know what the people in the U.S. thinks but no one in the outside believes what your govt. says anymore (specially some Latin American countries), some of them and that's a shame because your the leading country, your politics affect the whole world.
- paperclipsNsoup, on 01/18/2008, -2/+6+1,000,000 Diggs for that
- dizilbdog, on 01/18/2008, -1/+5Nothing is going on Oprah and American Idol is on... Oh wait Recession No No Fed says No so I believe them.. I'm glad congress is cares more about Baseball than American's. You know I saw a Kayaker with Big Arms Congress should go after Kayakers maybe they are doing Steroids....
- inactive, on 01/18/2008, -5/+9Someone has to say it. Bush and American politicians are ***** on every Soldier that fought for freedom.
- someguyouknow, on 01/18/2008, -2/+6Que?
- 10lbhammer, on 01/18/2008, -1/+5he talks to god, and god gives him the facts. he don't need no steenking intelligence!
- inactive, on 01/18/2008, -0/+3Oh, right. It might be hard, or even dangerous.
Let's just give up now. - neognostic, on 01/18/2008, -3/+6He lost all credibility when he opened his mouth at his swearing in ceremony.
- hinchb, on 01/18/2008, -0/+3I'm not really surprised. They have their own interests in mind, and Bush seems to follow that.
- tige995, on 01/18/2008, -1/+4So Bush listens to the Intel and invades Iraq, beliving they had WMDs-he is a idiot
Bush doubts the NIE when they say Iran stopped nuke plans a few years ago, even though 2 yrs ago they said they were "months away" from a bomb-he is an idiot
He just cant win - inactive, on 01/18/2008, -0/+3Does that matter?
- merper, on 01/18/2008, -0/+3When you're on break at Gitmo, stop by the computer lab and let us know how far you get before SS tackled you.
- Enfenestrate, on 01/18/2008, -1/+4Nah, Internet toughguys amuse me, let him be
- gaoshan, on 01/18/2008, -1/+4Yes, Mr. President. You can haz cheezburger.
- daleok, on 01/18/2008, -1/+3Only one more year to go and he is out of here. i think the majority of people in this country wishes they could get back the last seven years of this country's life.
- mrphule, on 01/18/2008, -0/+2Did the end of the article actually suggest that Israel might attack Iran because of Bush's remarks? Please tell me I read that wrong cause I don't think there is any real chance of that happening.
