- jakereilly, on 08/22/2008, -1/+34Duh. McCain's a warmonger as well, nothing new. Bomb bomb bomb Iran? lol @ mcCain supporters.
- ChristPissed, on 08/22/2008, -1/+27Yes, Scheunemann (and any neocon) is synonymous with traitor. Thank you Mr. Buchanan for giving voice to this meme.
- Catspaw, on 08/22/2008, -2/+25The government is controlled by the war mongers. McCain and Scheunemann are puppets for them. This must be what Eisenhower was talking about when he asserted: "In the councils of government we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military industrial complex. The potential for the DISASTROUS rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.
- inactive, on 08/22/2008, -3/+11Take a look at his latest column:

Btw, we know that RawStory supports his views on this matter. Would it be too much to ask that they use a favorable picture of him? - JPHR, on 08/23/2008, -0/+7McCain on Georgia: We are all (paid by?) Georgians now!
Besides Georgia's claim on Ossettia Abkhazia legitemate?
Russia probably did the right thing by simply restoring the preexisting situation. By the way (source wikipedia) Georgia has no clear legitimate claim because after the dissolution of the USSR in 1991 and the following quite bloody Georgia-Ossetia war, Ossetia came under a peacekeeping mission from 1992 onwards. Now 16 years later Georgia initiates massive military action to reclaim Ossetia encouraged by Bush supplying training, armament and support for NATO membership. Wisely NATO did not accept that and NATO (France, Germany) is clearly not willing to follow Bush's lead even now.
I will not go too far back, but only for a few years there has been a democratic Georgia: Democratic Republic of Georgia (DRG) (1918–1921). Before that:it is rather murky with shifting borders and divisions, but as that age goes definitely not too democratic.
Of course you have the Georgian Soviet Socialist Republic (1921–1991), part of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics too, but unity from that period does not constitute a legitimate claim.
So either one refers to Georgia during 1918-1921 or to after 1991 which refers to a Georgia without Ossetia and Abkhazia. Honestly a claim from Georgia dating back to 1918-1921 cannot carry much weight in the face of a clear wish to self determination, which post Kosovo has a real precedent within the international community.
By the way democratically elected is not exactly a guarantee to sainthood. Who knows, even Mikheil Saakashvili might receive an invitation to the Hague like that other democratically elected Milosevic. Bush's brand of democracy seems overrated too.
So McCains response to this 3 o'clock call was a clear failure. Ignoring facts, further emboldening Georgia, exciting nationalistic elements, siding with the aggressor which has no real legitimate claim. McCain supports Georgia because it was "a democratic christian nation". Fine Christians indeed! - GonzoMuckraker, on 08/22/2008, -0/+7Doesn't look so unfavorable to me ...
- BotchaMcCoola, on 08/23/2008, -0/+6Friend, better get those liver enzyme tests without delay.
- BotchaMcCoola, on 08/23/2008, -0/+6It really is not worth saving a few hundred to avoid medical tests.
- inactive, on 08/22/2008, -4/+9You would think RawStory would do Buchanan the courtesy of posting a favorable picture of him - especially when they support his argument - but no, they hate him too much.
- inactive, on 08/23/2008, -0/+4More traitors in the McCain camp. You have to wonder what kind of information McCain himself gave the VC and why does the man who "tortured" McCain want McCain to be president.
- BotchaMcCoola, on 08/23/2008, -0/+3Excellent point like with McCain and other supporters of the Vietnam War damages to the USA. I think we are still searching for just the right term. Here is one to consider "Unintentional Traitor".
- BotchaMcCoola, on 08/23/2008, -0/+3Not only that, but we have a few other modern constitutional problems. Miliatry families often do kneejerk support of Bush and McCain types. This is much the same way as school teachers in my neighborhood always show support for tax levies. Should we fix this or go on suffereing?
- FTWmovin2canada, on 08/23/2008, -0/+2I would go with war profiteer... seems fitting.
- AlextheK, on 08/23/2008, -11/+2Great, so the guy who thinks we should have been on the Nazi side in WWII doesn't like McCain. Who gives a *****?
