- Varchild, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2Wow a blistering 217 people oppose the Iraq War. I guess that means the rest of the Millions of Americans support the Iraq war. Good luck on achieving 1 million... Unless 1 single web blogger host just mass produces his blog 1 million times, it won't happen. The Iraq War is just too popular.
It appears that rooting for America to defeat the Terrorists is quite popular.- thepoetryman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Varchild,
A real shame... Too bad you couldn't find it in your heart and mind to rise above and beyond your moniker. - Fairygoatfather, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Why are you so afraid Varchild?
- foxhaze, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@Fairygoatfather
He doesn't seem afraid... rather, he seems rational. I also find it to be overly optimistic to believe they could get 1 million bloggers on their side. Of course, nothing is stopping them from cheating, and the government doesn't care whether there are a billion bloggers who hate the war. They can have fun while it lasts, though. - Fairygoatfather, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The war on terror - particularly the Iraq War - is increasing the likelihood of more terrorist attacks on the scale of September 11, a major academic study says today.
"Treating Iraq as part of the 'war on terror' only spawned new terror in the region and created a combat training zone for jihadists," it says.
>>>>The US is "increasingly viewed as the greatest threat to world peace", it adds

- happyjuice, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Be positive. (I know it is hard!) A lot of people hate this war, but they have been lulled into sheeplike submission through Bushism and Clintoneqe prosperity. They are waking up. I've linked the site; I'm still having trouble getting the image up on me silly blog. But ***** the war and ***** paying taxes to the war machine. I hate it. And I'm glad to know I'm not alone.
- I3IVIIVI, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Hi Varchild, how's that alternate universe working out, where Iraqis civilians (and resistors, both non-violent and violent) are terrorists and the majority of people in the U.S. support the Iraq war, rather than oppose it?
I'm glad to be here on earth, where the vast majority of people always opposed the United States immoral, illegal and murderous war, sanctions, invasion, and occupation.
Now if only people like you didn't have all the money, power, and in your case excess time, to find and try to put down those bloggers on the side of humanity. - I3IVIIVI, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3If anyone would like a blog to join blogs against the War against Iraq, who doesn't have one, the Agaric Design Collective can set you up with a non-corporate blog. http://AgaricDesign.com/
- jennyg, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Ripples in the water travel miles. Ripples begin with a pebble. 217 pebbles make a lot of ripples.
War=popular? No.
Fear=silence? Yes.
Others will come. - gutterstar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Hey Varchild. The rest of the world exists. It doesn't mention this being a US project in the description. It is for people of all Iraq-occupying countries, and others can even add their voice too. I'm in the UK and one of the original 217. Also note that that is just how many blogs there were to start with.
Not knowing the rest of the world exists is why countries like ours continue to get into these disasters. Get a clue. - Dariana, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Varchild, if only 217 people opposed this war, those of us involved in CODEPINK and other peace movements would not have THOUSANDS showing up for our marches in Washington, DC. :-)
- wvkossacks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Just a few pro-soldier, anti-war statements on why we oppose the continued occupation of Iraq.

- RedValley, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3According to all credible opinion polls on the subject of the war conducted since last August, a solid majority of Americans oppose the Iraq War. If only 50% of Americans opposed, that would be 150 MILLION people (most recent polling suggests the real figure is about 60%). So Varchild, I believe it is safe to say that more than 217 people oppose the Iraq War. In fact, your view, here in the United States, is in the minority. And yet you have brilliantly deduced that the majority of the population as a fringe group. Now might be a good time to re-evaluate your assessment.
- Tflood, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Since when is the death of even one person popular! This war needs to come to an end. I am a veteran and believe this war is unjust. If mine were the only voice I would still cry out against this war.
- frontalpha, on 04/25/2008, -0/+0Please don't forget that the people we are fighting killed three thousand U.S. citizens September 11, 2001. They think that the death of American/Christians will get them to heaven. They believe this so full-heatedly that they will have women that are pregnant and mentally retarded people strap bombs to them and detonate them in streets killing non-combatants. Being an ex-veteran you should know this.
- thorne, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Please post this in your blogs and join if we want to help reach this goal. I'm not quite naive enough to believe that we can stop the war with this one small effort, but every voice added is important. Call/write your congressmen, sign petitions, protest, write, blog, read, support.
- tshelbywaid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Hey All
There's just one number that counts 3302 today. That's how many American soldiers have died fighting this "war". While I don't think anything short of an election with different results is going to change much, at least we know we care. Remember that number 3302 because the next time someone looks, it's going to be higher. - arin721, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2heh. varchild seems to use the same type of logic that so many on the right display. one, there are 391 blogs signed up to the project. two, that 391 have signed up does not mean that everyone else is supportive of the war. that's false logic.
but then, that's what you generally see from the right: false logic. - DragonMommie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0As of this moment, there are 404 blogs united against the Iraq War.

Pebbles, indeed, do create ripples, in this case, one voice. I took the step and joined my blog, too. I no longer feel powerless, or voiceless.... It just takes one to start.
Just one voice singing in the darkness
All it takes is one voice
Shout it out and let it ring
Just one voice
It takes that one voice
And every one will sing
