- Deathfrogg, on 06/28/2009, -23/+267Why pay any attention to this man? He's a wholly uneducated pathological liar and a deeply disturbed person. He would make the old Soviet Original Gangsters proud with his diatribes.
Just ignore him, he'll go away eventually if enough people do that. - Paranor01, on 06/28/2009, -8/+96If people like this are ignored, and therefore not questioned and refuted, then before you know it their rantings could create a cancer so large on the country that it may not be easily cured.
You HAVE to refute these people, not putting them in the light of truth allows their lies and hatred to spread.
In other words, your submission to ignore, is a call for them to succeed. - bunk995, on 06/28/2009, -15/+95No surprise from a man that has built his career slandering organizations like the ACLU. He basically hates the U.S. Constitution & Bill of Rights. A corporate shill and die hard defender of the Bush-Cheney torture junta. Keep it up, Bill!

It's like witnessing a gruesome car wreck. It's terrible to look at, but you just can't help it.
That is, if a car wreck was capable of being a manipulative, lying sack of ***** bloated on its own ideals. - wissler, on 06/28/2009, -11/+43Did he actually say he'd like to murder somebody for something they wrote, and would do it if he knew he could get away with it?
- smemily, on 06/29/2009, -0/+30JRBURKH, YOUR ERROR IS IN ASSUMING THAT THE ONLY PEOPLE PAYING ATTENTION TO HIM ARE THE ONES REFUTING HIM.
- teamgwho, on 06/29/2009, -2/+25So... BillO is using his freedom of speech and freedom of the press to deride the fact that others are hiding behind freedom of the press ad argue that news figures shouldn't be allow to say what they want?
//head explodes - Cartman86, on 06/28/2009, -4/+27I hear this all the time, but comparing Olbermann to O'Reilly is insane. Yes Olbermann has an agenda. He is obviously liberal and has liberals on his show. His show is basically a response to Fox. I mean the entire show consists of his criticizing republicans. The only difference is Olbermann doesn't appear to be completely psycho, and the people who he criticizes are asking for it. His Worst Persons segment is harsh, but he doesn't outright lie in it.
I try not to watch either, because it just gets me upset at the stupidity of the world. - lamejoketeller, on 06/29/2009, -8/+29FTA: "The most frustrating part about this is that nothing can be done. The Times has an ombudsman, but he's a joke, and no outside agency has any power over the paper. It can pretty much do what it wants, and does."
"The most frustrating part..."
i.e. he wishes something could be done to curtail the rights of the press to say what they want. - ianzu, on 06/29/2009, -1/+19*sigh*
Nobody mentioned Olbermann. Chill out.
And American Idol regularly trounces Billo. Does that mean we should be listening to Ryan Seacrest? No. Ratings do not indicate quality, nor have they ever. - PlusTheBear, on 06/28/2009, -17/+34Replace the film crew with a handycam and not only is he an insanely illogical person, he uses hate speech for ratings.
- iticu, on 06/29/2009, -2/+19Do you all get paid to spam this *****?
- inactive, on 06/29/2009, -1/+18Yes, jetboyterp, there were many people who were favorites of the public. Some were dictators who put people to death based on their race and/or religion and/or political beliefs. But since they'd get high ratings, I'm sure you'd follow them as well.
Transformers 2 did well this weekend. Shia for President!
You mindless ass... - TheSwashbuckler, on 06/29/2009, -1/+17It is an interesting data point, BUT... the percentage of Dems and Republicans in the poll was damned close to other polls regarding party affiliation these days...
- m3arvk, on 06/29/2009, -5/+21O'Reilly's statistical argument is slightly flawed, although it may not be obvious why. His argument is that the polling demographic is not representative of the American populace; that it is skewed toward the left. The question is that of fairness; does the poll represent a true sample of America's populace? I think it's a fair question.
Given that the republican approval ratings are at an all time low (25-36%), is it unreasonable to posit that many republicans have switched party affiliations and that elections numbers are no longer representative of the American political landscape? If it is not unreasonable to posit such a thing, then poll may be more accurate than the right might like to admit.

Suuuuure he is. Unles, of course, you're referring to "Independent of rational thought." - inactive, on 06/28/2009, -11/+26I don't care what Bill says and I care even less about what the dailykos has to say. LISTEN TO NPR PEOPLE!
- DS2600, on 06/28/2009, -4/+19While I despise the Daily Kos, and am well aware of the media bias in both directions, ratings mean absolutely nothing. Just because the masses watch it more, doesn't make it better.
- bicyclethief, on 06/28/2009, -10/+24What a fool arguing against his very own profession and against a pillar of democracy.
- PlusTheBear, on 06/28/2009, -4/+18You can always justify hate speech if the other side does it.
That is sarcasm. - drumercalzone09, on 06/28/2009, -2/+15NPR, FTW!
It's nice to have as close to a neutral news station as possible close at hand in the car. I listen to it more than I listen to music. - the2989, on 06/29/2009, -7/+19I wish Bill O'Reilly would have kicked the bucket this week.
- raviu90, on 06/28/2009, -22/+33***** FOX NEWS
- abeewon, on 06/29/2009, -4/+14tiller the baby killer, is kinda hateful i would say
- RealityMonster, on 06/29/2009, -3/+13Tiller was in the business of providing medical abortions for babies that wouldn't survive to term. Babies with genetic diseases, or no hearts, or damaged brains. Genetic counselors would refer women to him. He was a final resort for a lot of couples that desperately wanted children, but couldn't have them for medical reasons.
- sathias, on 06/28/2009, -8/+18Has it ever occurred to him that Fox would be the least likely to get government approval under a Democrat government?
- StarlessKnight, on 06/29/2009, -2/+12Small mention: Note that he may very well be more educated than a large number here; no one, however, is arguing that he is either smarter or wiser for it.
- JeffTS, on 06/29/2009, -1/+11Buried for misleading title. Read O'Reilly's article and then pass your judgements: http://billoreilly.com/newslettercolumn?pid=26794
- Amadeus2490, on 06/29/2009, -5/+14Bill O'Reilly is just an epic troll for attention.
- sewollef, on 06/29/2009, -2/+11"***** dailykos and their propaganda *****. Why can't every news site be neutral?"
Don't be so childish, NO news site is neutral. And to call Daily Kos 'propaganda *****' exposes how juvenile you are.
Come back when you can discuss like an adult. - senae, on 06/29/2009, -0/+9All media outlets are biased. Most of their biased readers and watchers know they're biased. It's only when a media outlet claims to be completely unbiased that people have issues with them.
Also when you're as big an ***** as Bill. People don't like that either. - jman583, on 06/29/2009, -9/+18HI! BILL O'REILLY HERE WITH BIAS NEWS, THE ONLY NEWS YOU'LL EVER NEED!!!
- m3arvk, on 06/29/2009, -2/+11Being and sounding educated is both unnecessary and foolish. Got it.
- Cartman86, on 06/29/2009, -2/+11yeah... what does this have to do with O'Reilly. We know you don't like left leaning people attacking O'Reilly because he is a republican and somehow you think that reflects on you, but really it doesn't. Just like if asked I might call myself liberal or a democrat in reality I don't hold every ideal. Your hate/thought crime example is one I don't agree with. A crime is a crime and thought crime is one of the biggest pieces of BS ever.
- bicyclethief, on 06/29/2009, -2/+11Liberals want responsible capitalism, which is good for everyone, as opposed to runaway capitalism that ***** people and environment over. Big difference.
- Cartman86, on 06/29/2009, -1/+8We are talking about O'Reilly here man. Stop turning this into a left vs right issue. This is an issue about a single idiot.
- VitriolAndAngst, on 06/29/2009, -1/+9So what you are saying is; unless we step on him, Bill O'Reilly will keep coming back with 8 or 20 baby Bill's and eventually, they are going to leave fecal matter all over the house?
- alienufo, on 06/29/2009, -1/+9daily kos isn't a "news site", its a political blog. Pretty big difference.
- bjornski, on 06/29/2009, -0/+8"Freedom to publish whatever you want isn't a license to print falsehoods."
According to the Florida Supreme Court ruling during a trial regarding FOX news, yes, it is.
"On February 14, a Florida Appeals court ruled there is absolutely nothing illegal about lying, concealing or distorting information by a major press organization. The court reversed the $425,000 jury verdict in favor of journalist Jane Akre who charged she was pressured by Fox Television management and lawyers to air what she knew and documented to be false information. The ruling basically declares it is technically not against any law, rule, or regulation to deliberately lie or distort the news on a television broadcast. "
http://ceasespin.org/ceasespin_blog/ceasespin_blog ... - wildcardlx, on 06/29/2009, -3/+11I'm curious to know how many of you actually read the original editorial by O'Reilly. He argued that the NYT held a poll that was biased. Consequently, he feels, just as many Digg users feel about Fox News, that a paper like the Times commands a lot of power and to be blatantly biased does a great harm to the country. No where in the article does he suggest that there should be an organization that runs the press. So yes, go on bashing O'Reilly and any other conservative figures out there. Generally, Digg users act like children: you can't think for yourselves EVER. If it's from the DailyKos or Huffington Post, then Digg Digg Digg! And throw in a few words about O'Reilly being a Nazi or something too.
- inactive, on 06/29/2009, -5/+13FTA: "[T]here is a huge problem in this country and I'm going to attack that problem. I'm going to attack it. These people aren't getting away with this. I'm going to go right where they live. Every corrupt media person in this country is on notice, right now. I'm coming after you...I'm going to hunt you down [...] if I could strangle these people and not go to hell and get executed...I would."
The irony is that O'Reilly and Fox are the corrupt media! Fox is a perfect name, because they are the fox in sheeps clothing. And all you Fox News watchers and O'Reilly lovers and Bush/Cheney apologists are sheep.
O'Reilly has been shown over and over again to lie and distort facts. Ohlbermann does not.
Me11 & Mgraves -- you can throw out sophomoric names like Moonbat, but you offer no rebuttal, no facts. You offer nothing. You criticize people who read the DailyKos? The DailyKos puts in quotes and references. Where are yours? Oh, right. You have nothing. You just throw out a blanket criticism -- attack and distract. Your side is good at that. - thewonster, on 06/28/2009, -10/+18Okay and why the ***** are you digging this, giving him more press and more of a platform to get his opinion out?
- jer2eydevil88, on 06/29/2009, -1/+9@BuryMeHarder
Pieces of paper do not detail a persons education only that they drank beer and smoked pot. The real test for what one has learned is in with what they can teach. - driftwoodtex, on 06/29/2009, -6/+14Perhaps Bill would be more comfortable in a country that shares his views - maybe North Korea or Iran.
- ChoosyMother, on 06/29/2009, -1/+9I imagine that if fox news disappeared, so, in effect would DailyKos, as they would have nothing left to report on.
- Riggaberto, on 06/29/2009, -1/+8Well there are issues with saying fair and balanced if you're not, I don't know anything about those efforts, but that would be a legitimate attack on Fox.
- iticu, on 06/29/2009, -5/+12Please be a troll.
If you're not however, let the grown-ups talk. Rationally. -
