- gbudavid, on 05/30/2009, -2/+25FTA:..Ms. Dixon is accused of accepting thousands of dollars in gifts and travel from a developer whose projects received millions in city tax breaks - gifts that she failed to report on her ethics forms. At no point has she denied any of these facts; rather, her attorney, Arnold Weiner, has argued that those actions were not, technically, against the law.
- Blinker1315, on 05/30/2009, -4/+26No, Maryland (and Baltimore specifically) isn't in Chicago's league for political corruption, but probably only because it's smaller. The perils of of a one-party (in this case, Democratic) state.
- divinediva, on 05/30/2009, -0/+17A grand jury refused to indict the camp counselor in Mikey's death.
- ViperCTW, on 05/31/2009, -2/+19If only they had elected Tommy Carcetti
- techobo, on 05/31/2009, -2/+18Sheeeeeeit...
- YamsterYams, on 05/30/2009, -0/+13New York State is no slouch in the corruption department either: straight from the mouths of Spitzer and Silver.
- FatGuyLilCoat, on 05/31/2009, -1/+13The Council President Nerese Campbell (The Wire) was based on this chick. Anyone here watch this show besides me?
- gtluke, on 05/31/2009, -1/+11If this was a republican it would have mentioned so at least 75 times in the title.
- inactive, on 05/31/2009, -8/+18A negative story about a Democrat on the front page of Digg? Is this The Twilight Zone?
- spankaccount, on 05/31/2009, -1/+9Actually, if you follow the news. Dems are ahead right now in the corruption race. It's just not big news because the media tends to be liberal.
Furthermore, Dem pervs stay in office (Barney Frank, Clinton, etc), while ours leave. - inactive, on 05/31/2009, -0/+7Well there, Ms. Dixon...looks like the shoe is on the other foot!
- TheInformer, on 05/31/2009, -3/+10It's quite obvious that the corrupt politician here is a Democrat.
If it were a Republican, the party affiliation would have been in the title of the post. - inactive, on 05/31/2009, -0/+7Its good to see corruption in the open and being.....accepted as normal......yeah. normal.
- rft3rd, on 05/31/2009, -2/+9The fact she stole gift cards intended for the needy says a lot more to me then the votes for dick. I mean, how class-less is that?
She bought X-Boxes and Playstations (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/01/09/baltimore ... The needy could have bought clothes for their children.
Scum. - corduroy, on 05/31/2009, -1/+7Do you know anything about Baltimore? ANY politician - doesn't matter the affiliation - is just like the city.
- Carsonauto, on 05/31/2009, -1/+7I say let Matt Wieters fill in
- inactive, on 05/31/2009, -3/+9She is also, coincidentally, the first African-American President of the Baltimore city council
- Blinker1315, on 05/31/2009, -0/+6Of course, there are virtually no Republicans in Baltimore. Bob Ehrlich was a good governor and it was unfortunate he was defeated by a hack like O'Malley. Historically, however, point taken: people outside of Maryland forget that Spiro Agnew was a crooked MD pol before his inexplicable elevation to vice president.
- inactive, on 05/31/2009, -0/+6City politicians everywhere, this one just got caught

- ABip13, on 05/31/2009, -1/+6But he ***** the city over by not taking the state money for the schools, only so he could be governor.
- OriginalLucid1, on 05/31/2009, -6/+11Looks another game of guess the corrupt officials party affiliation. Since the article didn't mention it, I'm gonna guess....hmmm, I dunno, DEMOCRAT?
- rft3rd, on 05/31/2009, -0/+4She was. She is now the 3rd black Mayor of Baltimore City. Does not sound so impressive does it? Why is race an issue here?
- spankaccount, on 05/31/2009, -0/+4Funny. The article doesn't even mention she's a Dem too.
- inactive, on 05/31/2009, -0/+4And notice how every major city in America is run by Democrats.
- fakeplasticsnow, on 05/31/2009, -1/+5Should have re-elected Royce, he would have made us proud.
- rft3rd, on 05/31/2009, -0/+4No the article does not mention she is a democrat. But that does not change the FACT that it is a negative story ABOUT a democrat.
- anthropodeus, on 05/31/2009, -1/+5. . . or you could just kick them out of office . . . idk, i could just be insane . . .
- PeanutCheeseBar, on 05/31/2009, -2/+6Just another day for Baltimore politicians.
- Socratores, on 05/31/2009, -1/+5Man ,i sure do i miss The Wire.
- Patent, on 05/31/2009, -4/+8Only one party has corrupt officials, right?
- inactive, on 05/31/2009, -2/+6I have told you 18 billion times not to exaggerate
- xGORDOx, on 05/31/2009, -2/+6Is she Republican or Democrat?
Usually on Digg if the corrupt politician is a Republican, it's part of the headline, so I'll just have to assume since it's hidden that she's a Democrat.
Stay classy Digg. - inactive, on 05/31/2009, -0/+4All y'all ungrateful bitches thinkin you can throw me out da boat! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0_1KKuLsYU
- inactive, on 05/31/2009, -1/+4I've noticed this equivocation that "both sides are corrupt" only comes about when it's DEMOCRATS that are under the spotlight.
Be fair and balanced and condemn this Dixon bitch and the Baltimore Democrat Party for their corruption, instead of lessening the burden and blame.
THANK YOU! - BelatedHero, on 05/31/2009, -3/+6Dugg for The Wire.
- rft3rd, on 05/31/2009, -4/+7To those not in the know...
A negative story about a Democrat in the Baltimore Sun? WOW. Now that is a real story. - kjell81d, on 05/31/2009, -1/+3Yeah, she's a Dem. Also Juan Dixon's aunt BTW.
- bblande, on 05/31/2009, -0/+2Three Days Ago, Matt Wieters Bumped Into Luke Scott. Now, All Luke Scott Does Is Hit Homers.
http://www.mattwietersfacts.com/ - llopez1223, on 05/31/2009, -4/+6Baltimore Ravens are winning the Superbowl!
- inactive, on 05/31/2009, -1/+3yep.
Followed by a string of comments by the usual suspects damning all Republicans to Hell. - gutenpress, on 05/31/2009, -3/+5No, just another season of "TheWire".
- Brew, on 05/31/2009, -0/+2No doubt, O'Malley sucks and so does Sheila Dixon. I am neither a democrat or republican and have little sympathies either way. In Maryland there are more corrupt democratic politicians, but that is just because there are more democratic politicians in Baltimore.
Saying "THANK YOU!" in all caps kind of makes you sound like a douche bag, fyi. - Claverhouse, on 05/31/2009, -1/+2It would also have been spelt 'rethuglican'.
- nodebtnow, on 08/28/2009, -0/+1A very informative article.
- pellagaro, on 06/14/2009, -0/+1not from baltamore, but interesting none the less.
- Wellness360, on 06/09/2009, -0/+1There is big difference between the verdict of the court of justice and the court of public opinion. In the former judgements are often influenced by who's had the most money to pay the best lawyers steeped in winning court battles on technicalities. In the latter it is more difficult the erase the sense of betrayal of trust of the hearts and minds of voters who have lost faith in the credibility of public officials who are more beholden to short-term personal enrichment than to serve the long-term public interest.
- WasabiBomb, on 06/02/2009, -0/+1That would be the Republicans, @Imperialism.
- rft3rd, on 05/31/2009, -0/+1Damn near had two homers tonight!
