  • RogerStrong, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Or, maybe he's a fall guy. He simply didn't have the budget to fix things, and being a soldier he wasn't able to criticize his superiors. Being a soldier, he'll fall on his sword when ordered to.

    Walter Reed was underfunded because being in DC, it wasn't in anyone's congressional district. While members of congress were getting and hundreds of millions in defence spending pork for thier districts, Walter Reed had to do without.

    Being on the base closure list didn't help, either.
