Is it that it's no longer being taught, or that modern 8th graders aren't paying attention?

- smacksaw, on 11/10/2009, -0/+3It's not subjective as the point isn't to find an objective answer, the point is to make the person think about what constitutes good gov't.
Something we should think about today. All you hear are wannabe anarchist pseudo-libertarian "Republicans" talking about less gov't. Republicans used to care about good gov't. If gov't wasn't good, then you want less of it. And Democrats want ore gov't whether it is good or not. That's why Kucinich stands out. Many of them voted against the health care bill because it isn't good gov't. It just enriches corporatism.
It should not be an issue of more gov't or less gov't. We are being cheated as Americans by the debate devolving into that. We should talking about ways to make gov't better. And if we can't make it work for us we should get rid of that particular thing.- luckybob343, on 11/10/2009, -0/+0Not to belabor a point on a long-dead post, but the term "good government" is subjective because of its use of the word "good". "Good" by its very nature is a subjective term and the phrase "good government" will always be subjective as per the rules of grammar, vocabulary and diction, regardless of your political leanings.
Don't let that get in the way of a good rant, though.
