- flogistan, on 05/17/2008, -2/+6Goyette is great but I still don't trush ritter. His appeal is to fear. It should be to pity. He's saying don't attack Iran, because we can't succeed. It's like he's challenging people by saying we can't do it. Of course we can do it. Iran is not a threat, their air force is 100% dependent on us, and their planes don't work. He's saying they're responsible for all the terror in the middle east, which is the same thing they said about sadam. It's all *****. In any case, this guy is going to run for political office, and he's using this issue to do it. He's one of them, and his life's work tells the whole story. He's a spook, and he wants to be a spook who gains political office, and spooks shouldn't be in politics. At the very minimum, he's a "realist" like kissinger, but my true belief is that kissinger and ritter are both neocons, or they wouldn't get the work they continue to get. This guy is out there to frame and limit the voice of dissent. He's one of them who has been given the job to say "I don't agree with what we're doing," and then to give you wrong reasons for disagreeing with what you already know is wrong that are a little closer to the views of world government freaks that run this country. He's essentially got the same job as glenn beck. Act like you don't trust government, act like you're outraged, advance a conspiracy theory so it seems like you really don't trust government, (but make it a little bit more flattering to government than the ones actually going around) Then answer your own "conspiracy theory" with the wrong conclusion the government wants you to come to. Jesus, I'm beginning to suffer from KGB think myself from trying to keep up with what these clowns are doing.

The vaunted American military still cannot pacify Iraq five years after moving its headquarters into Saddam's palace.
Here's Iran, three times the size of Iraq in both population and territory, with a much better military than Saddam's, and you say "of course" we can successfully conquer and occupy Iran.
I think that your opinion needs a hefty dose of reality.
