- VarelseSoul, on 11/09/2009, -0/+4Fine, digg me down without an intelligent response as to why. You're all cool.
- VarelseSoul, on 11/08/2009, -3/+6mmm... I believe this just shows your ignorance as to why most pro-life believe the way we do. I'm all for the right to do as you want to your body, of course. But, our main argument (ignoring the whole "JEZUS SAYZ SO") group) is that it ceases to just because YOUR body. There's enough evidence out there for me to agree that a fetus, much earlier than most pro-choice supporters would like to think, is fairly functional and has thoughts.
Besides that, I view a human life as the most important gift anyone can receive. It's an experience that overwhelms the mind. Every time an abortion is administered, that POTENTIAL for that experience is stolen. Just imagine this, imagine you never had your first kiss or you never got to graduate highschool, or whatever experience you hold dear to your heart.
Even the bad times add up to a great life. My dad had stomach cancer (stage 4, given 4 weeks to live). I was utterly destroyed, because I was in the 8th grade. I made myself grow up then, because I thought I'd have to support my family. That hard time built character, and allowed me to be the good person I am today. Luckily and miraculously he pulled through, and was given 40 years.
Would I take back my dad's cancer? No, I don't think I would. Would I take back my first kiss? Hell no. If I was aborted, would I have been able to experience it? Would I have missed it? No and no. But, I'm really happy I did. So would each of those fetuses who would have survived.
Just as a disclaimer, I'm not some radical republican. I'm a libertarian. I just value life too much to deny it to someone, especially someone who grew because of me, with half of my DNA.
