- emeriste, on 10/12/2007, -11/+145Whoever this woman is that is sitting in for Alan Colmes should replace him permanently. She seems considerably more lucid, aggressive, and better looking.
- Saintlink, on 10/12/2007, -17/+95I'm a conservative and I don't approve of this woman. Stop the bias in thinking that neoconservative = real old-school conservative that backs less government, not more. This woman is out in la la land and has no right to call herself a conservative.
- millixaw, on 10/12/2007, -25/+99Typical Conservative's response to a question they cannot answer:
"But... but... but... Clinton..." - seattle98104, on 10/12/2007, -13/+58@ Sainlink
If she is not representative of conservatives, than why is she a #1 best selling author, and why is there not an effort from the majority of conservatives to quash her rhetoric (if it is not representative of what conservatives believe)? - earthtoandy, on 10/12/2007, -11/+52@Clouder
How do you do that? You know accuse someone else of something the people you defend have prefected. Fox news is the best at refusing to allow the people they question to answer when it doesnt forward their rightist agenda. O'reilly ring a bell? The man who tells people to shut up and turns off their mics? Ann Coulter does the same.
In this case why even wait for it to be answered when they refuse to actually answer the question? Sometimes the question is enough to make the point.
I think the tides are starting to turn a bit, at least I hope they are - achoo5000, on 10/12/2007, -11/+48Colmes looks like Skeletor.
- Zenithan, on 10/12/2007, -21/+54Oh yeah, oh yeah... all liberals do that. That's just how it is. You've discovered the secret! Congratulations.
- adamhmitchell, on 10/12/2007, -15/+45Typical Coulter. Why not blame Washington or Lincoln for 9/11? Oh yeah, neither of them ignored a PDB named "Bin Laden determined to strike in US."
Happy November everyone! - digduggler, on 10/12/2007, -9/+36"Me too. Liberals are blinkered fools that don't want to know the truth."
Yeah, because claiming executive privilage excessively is how you keep a transparent government for the people to see all this truthiness. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -11/+36If she is not representative of conservative...
well one.. a lot of liberals bought her book as well.. it is like a train wreck, you have to watch.. that in no means signals her support. I read hilters mein kampf as well as mao's little red book and still think both men are evil.
SHould conservatives have to appologise for coulter before speaking?
Dont take the NEO route, pigeon holing people is what they do.. rise above it.
I am conservative and i hate both bush and coulter. - pintomp3, on 10/12/2007, -8/+31can't argue with ann coulter's FACTS? now that is funny.
- Airspeeder, on 10/12/2007, -4/+26Yeah, it's really hard to argue with somebody who says Bin-Laden is "irrelevant" and that things are going "swimmingly" in Afghanistan...WOW. How do you people listen to this idiotic woman?
- pintomp3, on 10/12/2007, -17/+38conservatives don't need help looking bad
- Phatt138, on 10/12/2007, -7/+28Charlotte -
The 'connection' is in that the whole -ostensible- administrative reason for this costly, dangerous engagement with the Middle East is based on the 'terror' argument. Remember why we went to war in the first place?
So the point is this: we've got soldiers oversees engaging an insurgency with no apparent end in sight and countless lives caught in the crossfire (less than 'swimmingly,' I'd say), a President who's got his eyes on Iran, we're running so low on new recruits that we're considering outsourcing, the Constitution is being overhauled in some desperate attempt at a "quick fix" to the problems that exist both within and outside of our country, AND we don't have Osama.
If we're willing to accept all of that based on the notion of retribution for 9/11, the fact that we never got Osama is a big damnable deal. - TrevP, on 10/12/2007, -12/+33@becominglumberg: Yeah, her darkened, sunken eyes bear a striking resemblance to Fester Addams. Hot.
- pintomp3, on 10/12/2007, -8/+28yes, because of al queda, we must help the rich get richer, support unsubstantiated wars, and lie down in fear. that's what is freedom is about.
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -8/+25VOMIT.
I love America. I absolutely loathe our current government. There is a major difference there, because if I didn't love our country, I wouldn't care what our president did to continually abuse it. It's nice to see that you have picked up on Coulter's "LIBERALS ARE ANTI-AMERICAN!!" rhetoric. How about being an individual for once? Knowledge is power, use your ***** brain for once.
You know who really is anti-American? Bush. He consistently takes us in the opposite direction of what our country was founded upon. If you are American, you should be furious. Support our country, not our president. - BitSlash, on 10/12/2007, -8/+25Hey where'd you get Bill O'Reilly's strategy notes?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -9/+26>>Go to France
This is part of a routine, right? You couldn't have been serious. Please, tell me you're going for humor? - axiomflash, on 10/12/2007, -6/+23who is that replacement reporter?
i would love to know who she is, and how the hell fox let her on the air.
im willing to bet she was a fox intern and she has already been fired. - Saintlink, on 10/12/2007, -18/+34The reason she is a best selling author is because she spouts nonsense that is entertaining. The same can be said for Rush, Sean Hannity and others. Truth isn't primary concern among pundits of the left and right alike. It is ratings.
Take for instance the latest revelations that Al Gore isn't as 'green' as we thought he was. Once again, truth was not Gore's primary concern in retrospect. He had a movie to sell and a book to play sidekick. The same goes for Rush and others, they are just better at producing hot air that people like to buy.
Why people like Coulter are better than someone like Franken at selling their tripe is beyond me. There are plenty of liberals on digg here. Post here recently if you've purchased a liberal book from the likes of Franken, Moore etc. - berfmurret, on 10/12/2007, -7/+22coulter looks and sounds like a man. and a horse. a horseman.
- rabidjester, on 10/12/2007, -9/+24Thank you for posting that, you've made my morning. It wouldn't be funny if I hadn't seen Coulter use the same tactic on so many people in the past.
I really wish TV networks would stop helping divide this country though, ratings be damned. - slang75, on 10/12/2007, -4/+19@chriskzoo
I'd LOVE to know where you got your numbers? A very quick google search showed me both were wrong. - mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -6/+21"highly intelligent"
If you believe this, I'm sure you will be a fantastic candidate for a Darwin award in the near future.
"often funny"
Yeah it's often funny to see people actually take her seriously. A bit depressing too though. - shawnanigans, on 10/12/2007, -12/+26@Becominglumberg; I would do her, but I'm afraid she's a succubus and would steal my soul.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -12/+26Why do people keep giving this bitch publicity and airtime?
- Boor, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15Im with SwordofKahless in the general sense of if your gunna ask someone a question atleast let them answer. It doesnt matter whether ann does it to others too its still pretty stupid in my books. Whatever happenned to clear moderated debates, where both sides could get their points across without being interupted. I guess those just dont give enough ratings these days.
- Dragular, on 10/12/2007, -7/+20Yes, yes, not only that, but we enjoy the taste of roasted baby. Also, since we do these acts of scoundrelism, it is perfectly understandable that conservatives do THE SAME DAMN THING.
- reed311, on 10/12/2007, -5/+18The War in Iraq was free, I heard we paid for it with all the oil we've been pumping out of there. Actually, the United States borrowed money to fund this war and pretty soon the interest will come do. How do you think they are going to pay back the loan? If you said "raise taxes" you are correct.
- metsfansam, on 10/12/2007, -6/+18I think she was upset because she wasn't allowed to finish her statement, which is too bad because it had the potential to be comedy gold.
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -5/+17It's fun to see the country being run like a Freshman college kid recieving his first credit card. Just keep buying cars with imaginary money that he doesn't actually have.
- oOLiquidNightOo, on 10/12/2007, -4/+15when you start an answer with (paraphrased): "Things in Afghanistan are going swimingly" what more really needs to be said?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -12/+23Just something I've noticed, and off topic as well -- I'm one of those wacky libertarians who generally can find something in nearly everyone to disagree with... but I think it's pretty funny that a comment prefaced with "Typical Liberal Democratic action...." Gets modded down to (-)13 and a comment starting with "Typical Conservative's response" gets modded up to +10. Politics suck on just about every front, looks like digg is no different. At least try to be consistent with your criteria that you use to judge comments on here. (That's your cue to hit thumbs down -- Thanks.)
- daldredge, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13@nikebud
America has never been a democracy, it is a democratic republic. - earthtoandy, on 10/12/2007, -5/+15Really, I think they are in that order cause it sounds best. You'll notice all the docuents of the time, written by the founding fathers, were written with a sense of poetry.
And if you think the current conservative agenda extends saftey you are obviously not paying attention to the world climate. Since we have started the war on terror and then in iraq we have bred more of the hate against this country. We have created future generations of terrorists while not doing a damn thing to actually highten security. We are way worse off and in turn have desecrated the Constitution, the document that MAKES us Americans. its what supposed to make us different.
The biggest threat to this nation is itself. The biggest act of terrorism is the one propagated by this government against its own people and the Constitution. Freedom and liberty are ideas from the past.
As I have posted before...
"Those who would give up essential Liberty to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." - Ben Franklin - b00ks, on 10/12/2007, -5/+14Although I am a fairly conservative person, I hate foxnews, mainly for its blatant distortion or information. Personally I really like this person who is filling in for Combes, mainly because she is everything that Combes isnt. The first poster had it absolutly correct, agressive and lucid. Just a much better point counterpoint style show if you have someone who can actually bring up valid concerns of both sides.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+15Yeah, the video is a FAKE!
*****. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -9/+18Oh poor Ann never gets to answer a question. The poor girl always is curteous to others and always allows others to answer their questions! Just like Sean Hannity.
SwordofKahless, your head is in your ass. Thought I'd let you know. - sroerick, on 10/12/2007, -8/+17@gospelofthomas
Thanks for posting that -- I'm libertarian, I can't stand Bush and the War in Iraq, but I also can't stand rhetoric and *****.
I remember back when this was big news, and I eagerly read the PDB. Nothing of value in it whatsoever. - nikebud, on 10/12/2007, -12/+21By the way? Those who bitch about Digg having a liberal slant?
ALL stories and ALL comments are voted on by digg users.
It is a democratic forum. By the way, 'democratic' doesn't mean 'liberal'. look it up. look up the word 'republic' too while you are at it. - seibed, on 10/12/2007, -6/+14Saintlink-
it's pretty clear that you have your biases, but you may want to do a little research into the claims that Gore isn't as "green" as he claims... many, if not all, of the claims put forth have been refuted. Many of the claims in the original "gore isn't grren" article are blatent falsehoods, and others are freely admitted by Gore that he could be doing more, and he doesn't claim to be perfect. Care to launch any more ad hominems? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+15it is funny that anne complains she is not given time to answer, is humourous after listening to micheal brown trying hard to be heard over hannity trying to attack each word he said. Hannity was far more rude than this woman was.
- mOdQuArK, on 10/12/2007, -5/+13@Saintlink
We'll stop lumping all conservatives under the same umbrella as soon as some of those old-school conservatives start actively campaigning against the nincompoops that they helped elect in the name of party loyalty. Until then, you're just "enablers" that refuse to take responsibility for cleaning up your own dog's crap. - MacFlecknoe, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12you know what IM sick of? People telling me that just because i dont agree with THEIR point of view and THEIR Little Golden Book interpretation of what it means to be an American I should move. If you think that this administration is in the right and that the war in iraq is worth spilling blood over GO JOIN THE ARMY. I hear the marines are having a tough time recruiting right now so Im sure they would love the extra hand. No you say? You arent American enough to enlist? Then SHUT UP!
- achoo5000, on 10/12/2007, -6/+13@chriskzoo
Because wars don't cost taxes... - blapierre, on 10/12/2007, -10/+17Does anyone even listen to what Ann Coulter says?
- Airspeeder, on 10/12/2007, -6/+13Please go play in traffic, wowbagger.
- deadgoon42, on 10/12/2007, -11/+17@Saintlink
What makes Ann Coulter "mildly entertaining?" I don't find her the least bit entertaining. All she does is say really controversial and hateful things in an attempt to sell more books or promote herself. I'd be willing to bet she doesn't even write her own stuff considering her inability to defend any of her positions on television.
And I am so tired of the argument that Clinton messed up everything. Okay, so Clinton probably should have been more aggressive about going after Bin Laden, but he hasn't been President for 5 and a half years. I think some of that blame can now safely be shifted to the current administration. - totorototoro, on 10/12/2007, -6/+12afghanistan "is going swimmingly"..coulter couldn't even spit that out without choking on her own bile.
